Sugo Restaurant

I visited this place with a friend for dinner. We Loved the service as well as the food. The pizza was delicious, and my friend ended up having three scoops of caramel ice cream (I guess).

Decent little Italian cafe conveniently located right next to the Malvern car park. Brunch was typical standard fare apart form the Italian omelette which had some olives anchovies and spinach. Was bit too salty but then again a lot of Italian food is. The ham omelette was good. The garlic bread was amazing. Coffee not bad.

Great service, the food is served fast, the menu has good choices. The food is consistent and always taste the same. Finally very friendly staff always checking on you and making sure all is going well. Highly recommended!

Yep. 5 stars.just because it is completely honest food which is tasty and great quality. The decor is friendly, simple and inviting. I had seafood linguini which was absulutely delish. So much nicer than a fancy joint's offering on Southbank and the "left-over-like offerings of DOC Carlton! The meal was generous but not too big, and not 'padded out' with pasta or cheaper ingredients. My partner had mushroom and duck risotto which was divine. Keep up the fabulous and consistent offerings, Sugo!

I came here today.
It was highly recommended by my family.
My partner and I had the best experience.
We were greeted warmly and sat down, offered water and drinks straight away.
Perfect!

We then had some starters and my partner had the crab linguini and I had a steak.

Crab linguini was beautiful and the sauce highly complimented the pasta.
My steak was amazing. Cooked to perfection and very tender.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Plus the atmosphere is very relaxed and enjoyable.

This restaurant has been in business for so many years, it's an excellent little local cafe, good service with a simple Italian menu of quality dishes.

Not sure what's happened to Sugo but its gone downhill. Rago pasta, salad and lemon torte were all very average. I won't be going again

Chilled restaurant and decent food. I enjoyed their vegetarian pasta that they made for me off the menu. Friendly service. Open till later than most places nearby.

Not as good as I expected from all friends' recommendations. Looks like a place that used to be good.

I've been to Sugo many times and I can say that everything is just a perfection! From the moment you entered the restaurant, the services, the foods as well as the desserts will blown your mind! This is the restaurant that I always choose if I am out for dinner with my family or colleagues!

Keep it up Sugo! We will always coming back!

FYI they don't accept the good food gift vouchers. Frustrating experience for us after they accepted our good food gift voucher kept it for two days and then stated they can't accept it. They seem very confused and what is more frustrating is that they say customers come in with the gift card trying to use it.

Good food and the staff was really friendly but you could tell that they had no idea what they were doing. They were running around like hens, not taking orders (?), we had to ask to order after a while. Not the service you expect considering the price, but very friendly which made up a bit for the unprofessional service.

It's ok indeed. Pizza little less than inspired, kinda like the Italian on the parade in Adelaide, not the best but it does what it needs to do

We recently celebrated my wife's 40th at Sugo and booked out the back half of the restaurant with around 45 guests. The owner, the manager and all of the staff were nothing short of amazing, they were efficient, friendly and very accomodating. Jack was so helpful from the initial discussions around planning our function right through to ensuring everything ran smoothly on the night. The food was amazing and our guests loved every dish served. We all had a great night. I would highly recommend Sugo for either a night out or function gathering to celebrate a special occasion.

Sensational pasta and service. Cannot fault anything food, wine and service outstanding. Restaurant neat clean with plenty of seating options. If i had to pick a fault, it would be the 1hour drive home.but well worth it. Thumbs up to all staff

Ordered the pasta, pretty generous portions and flavoursome. Just a little salty for my personal preference tho.

Shallow version of its former self. Had some great times at Sugo in the past. However the great tapas menu has disappeared and the pizza menu has been reduced to 4-5 bland aussie favourites. Eg: pre-bought bases with tomato-paste for sauce and big squirts of BBQ sauce on my Chicken Pizza. Just like Pizza Hut.
Our basic lunch for two without drinks was $77. Won’t come here again. But the waitress was lovely and courteous and made us feel good.

Went for a late night dinner date and was very impressed. Service was amazing; the waiter didn't smother us but he also didn't ignore us. My first thoughts when looking at the menu were about how everything was on the more expensive side, but I quickly realized why. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend getting the baked ricotta gnocchi!

Food, ambiance & service was fantastic. My fiancee and I's waiter made our night. Restaurant was quiet and the background music was great and non intrusive. Whoever designed the interior here knew what they were doing. Highly recommended!
