37Staff working without a mask on whilst serving and making orders. Also seen scratching their face (twice) while serving me. Sign on the door clearly indicates that masks are to be worn. We also remain under state health orders to wear a mask when indoors, unless it is your own personal home. Covid-19 is sweeping through Geelong and this isn’t good enough. I contemplated saying something but then felt it would just further make my experience negative, being made to feel that I have to tell Subway staff to do the right thing. My kids were with me and they are unvaccinated due to their age (appointment in late Jan set). Poor attitude from staff towards simple PPE requirements and hygiene.

Staff member NOAH needs to understand how to respect customers and understand that rules apply to all customers not just ones he pick and chooses
Walked in, greated by two friendly staff.
Hear a third staff member Noah yell out asking if I had a mask?
(Noah) "Do you have masks? "
Me- while checking my pockets "no sorry "
(I understand this error is my own as per covid rules and regulations)
Noah "Sorry we can't serve you without a mask"
Me "Oh really. Bummer it's in the car parked on the other side of the car park Np I'll go get it"
Noah "yup ok sorry can't serve you without one"
Had just done a workout including legs.
So walked to the car, decided to drive over.
Went into the store only to find another guy in line ahead of me no mask. NOAH goes ahead and says to him. "Hi, what would you like" then made his sub.
When I asked him why he didn't turn that guy away. Noah was speechless,
Noah "oh I didn't serve him
Me "Yeah you did, I saw you"
(Noah) "oh I asked him, he had an exemption"
Me "No, I know you did not. I never heard you ask him"
(Noah) "well, he could have, I don't ask all customers"
Conversation continued Noah unapologetic for his mistake & became defensive and kept coming up with different excuses and regurgitating rubbish responses.
Not only this, but other staff had their mask down to their lip while making subs for other customers.
Usually I don't care about petty little things like this. And definitely don't mind being asked to go get a mask to be served in situations I've forgotten to wear it, as staff may just be following rules for everyone's safety. And I'm happy to comply, but I don't like situations where in asked to do xyz and others are not.
I'm not Caucasian, the other guy served without a mask was, not sure if that had anything to do with this but ️

Went back in, soon as staff saw, they called out to a 'Jaik' whispered something amongst them selves. They all then turned their heads and looked at me. A few popping their heads from around the corner. Reminded me of Meerkats lol.
Noah looked at me 3 times and shook his head, so I commented "yeah no mask I know" this time we had 3 customers without masks, 1 by Noah was serving.
He got a little agro again.
I told him had he not looked at me multiple times then shook his head, I wouldn't have said anything.
Asked him to grow up. But doubt that'll happen.
Most rudest boy on front of customer service, have been going to this subway for years.never in my life have I been approach or talk to the way the little kid did the morning. Learn some manners and respect. You’re serving customers whom pay your pay check big head.
I hav not been to subway Newcomb for many many years. I used to go there many times in a week for dinner with my son before moving from Geelong. Courtenie, Olivia, "kat" and Sam used to make my subways they were so friendly and chat to me and my son. They even knew our orders and knew my name lol. They made the best subs in Geelong.
I came to subway Newcomb again while visiting geelong and the young girl working did not care for my subway. Very messy. Music was loud like I was in a nightclub. When my son filled his drink the machine was sticky and mess everywhere & 2 workers out the back were laughing on their phones. It is not the same anymore.
I love this place I love to go there all the time if I had the time but they great customer service
Food was good. Only one downfall was that when I asked for mine to be toasted I expected it to be toasted.
Ordered from uber eats. Recieved 2 foot longs. Wrong salad and sauce was on 1 and both footling had been squished when rolled.
After a decade or so of coming to this nice little sandwhich shop I have found myself amazed at one of the workers that has stood out. She worked well in a team, helping a fellow worker make orders, she was quick yet precise with her orders and made me feel welcomed into the store as opposed to a customer. Great work would recommend to friends and family, especaully when shes on. The food could use some imporvemnet though.

The only thing I think should improve are the cookies. There should be more toppings. Topping-batter ratio is about 15: 85, would be better at 30: 70 in my opinion. Everything else is awesome!
Workers nice food prepared quickly. At this time 2 workers no masks on & 8 people in there at a time no masks worn, except l had one on. I asked the young worker about this response was we don't have to wear them now
Got the steak an cheese melted wrap, couldn't believe she managed to wrap it all up it was chock full!
The staff very rude and very very stingy with toppings. If I’m paying almost $3 for avocado I expect more then half a tea spoon. Staff are so stingy you assume it comes out of there wages. Not worth time or money.
Clean, friendly and fast. Heaps of fillings. I have not seen any public toilets. Not very comfortable for wheelchair access. The food is delicious.
I hate this subway. Staff take no care in the assembling of the sandwiches and don’t put enough toppings on. I got subway here tonight and the girl there put 5 or 6 olives on my sandwich. I hate it so much NEVER go there.
On multiple occasions have got home and found I've been given some one elses subway. Check before you leave

Sloppy and poorly made sandwiches. Staff take no care in sandwich assembly. I wouldn't be calling them 'sandwich artists' any time soon.
