Stringers Store reviews
49Food is top notch. Good quality produce. Great pizza base. But not the best value. I'd say it's 20% more expensive than similar quality establishments. $30 for calamari and it looks like an entre size. Adults ended up having to order 3 meals to feel full. Pasta and pizzas are well sized though and better value than the salads and snacks/entres.
Eggs benedict (26$)
Truffle & mushroom sandwich (14$?)
Long black (5$)
Dirty chai (6.5$)
First of all, the interior is so pretty. It was also nice that the dining/dessert space was separated. The food was on the pricey side, but the atmosphere was worth it. The sandwich was better than the Benedict.
Had to ask for a new expresso as it was cold they did replace it but we waited for over half an hour to get it
Nice chicken sandwich and latte
Great renovated shop with big windows and outdoors.
Girl in the takeaway store was just a bit rude
It keeps me waiting until finish this review.
Just a piece of advice: if you can’t train your staff well or you can’t accommodate that much customers, just keep it to a smaller size…. Arrogant and unfriendly staff (literally everyone of them) …… Unpleasant experience, we are doing our best to be polite and patient, yet still receive numb face:) just wonder what makes your staff so unhappy to work here?
Really like the backyard, so we walked in. The service has really shocked me, they are so bad, tried 3 times with the waitress, just want to get an order. Really fake smile, you can just tell they are not happy. Some just don’t have a smile on their face. Some jus rude. Food are definitely over priced.
Take away service is poor. Not a smile or hello to be seen. Looks like staff in the take away area would rather be anywhere than there. We waited over 15 minimum for a coffee and egg and bacon frittata. When we finally received it, the order was incorrect and needed to be restarted. If you are after customer service, go elsewhere.
Love the pizza. The rest of the food is also nice. There is some fantastic staff who make the place. Unfortunately the morning service and coffee service lets this place down. Visited 2 days ago for a take away coffee. Ended up waiting 22 minutes before enquiring where it was at. Thinking they may have lost the docket. Was advised by a short barrister with a moustache “it’s about 5 min away we are very busy, doing the best we can” in an aggressive manner. Place was at best a third full of patrons and they were clearly serving dine in patrons coffees before any take away. Wish I had of been advised prior as I would not have bothered ordering a “quick take away coffee” had I have known there was a 1/2 hour wait. Have heard similar things from other locals. Unfortunate. Coffee also cost $7.20 for medium soy late. Bonus is I got a refund and saved that for the day.
Just ok. You wait along time for Coffee. Was about 1/3rd full and took 50 mins to get coffee.
First time back as a Local, at the newly refurbished Sorrento, Stringers. Lovely lunch loved the 4 cheese pizza & fresh Greek salad, great pot of tea too. Left with dinner more 4 cheese & a Margarita pizza, mushroom Focaccia, cakes & biscuit, dinner sorted! Great staff Tania & crew. Will be back:)
A real grouse time
Grouse food
Grouse staff
I'll be back.
Shoutout to Corey and his buddy for putting a real Grouse time
Looks great + busy from the outside, poor service + expensive
Left at the door while a table was made ready for us
Same waitress came back and said “was I just talking with you? ”
Sat at a table which had been wiped and was dripping wet (not just a little)
Had to ask for it to be dried
Told table service or QR code
Ordered juices $9+10 each - served pretty quick for this order and 2 waitresses within a minute both tried to take our drink order
Watched the juices be “made”
Tall skinny glasses filled beyond the brim with ice
Glasses then filled with juices from a pouch on the bench below full
Drinks delivered and had to ask if we could order, had already been there 5-10 mins by this point and no one came near us to take our food order
Ordered
Food delivered in a reasonable time frame
Apricot baked croissant was nice
Chilli scrambled was disappointing
Lucky I ordered an extra side of mushrooms (at $6 nonetheless) as otherwise I would have got 1 piece of? Sourdough with scrambled eggs and a concentrated drizzle of chilli oil / paste and a generous amount of goats cheese and dill
Advertised as coming with flatbread, but definitely wasn’t
No chilli or anything throughout the eggs, just standard bland scrambled eggs. Not even buttery or creamy
Truffle mushrooms were nice.
Plates not cleared, not asked if we wanted to order anything else or more drinks etc
Had to approach waitress to pay
Definitely is not table service and overpriced for what you get
$74.40 for 2 small breakfasts and half glasses of juice
Would not return
Looks like a nice place but it seems like the server was actively avoiding us in favour of people who had just walked in, after this happens 3 times and was about to happen a 4th we asked to be served and the respond “wait until I serve these people” witch is when we walked out.
Came here for breakfast and came straight back for dinner that night. Amazing food and amazing customer service. New favourite spot in Sorrento!
Lovely place and tasty food but the service is very slow. We waited 25 minutes after being seated and had to seek out a waitress to come and take our orders. Then, once our food came, there was a 5 minute wait for cutlery and the two pizzas we ordered were very delayed (more than 20 minutes) so the other meals were finished before the pizzas came out.
Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.
Will 100% be coming back here! First off the staff were amazing, very attentive and took pride in their work. Everything was amazing, food was great, drinks were great (definitely recommend the frozen margaritas) I would absolutely make stringers your next destination for dinner!
I ordered the chicken dish, cotelette and it was over cooked and too crunchy to eat. I ended up giving the chicken to our dog. My husband and friends loved the pizzas.
Not only amazing breakfast and coffee (the 5 grain oats & truffle mushrooms are on high rotation in our family) but the vibe outside for dinner is amazing too. Great music, unbelievable service & the pizza is the best we’ve had along the peninsula, the dough is something else. (Try the spicy pepperoni & the 5 cheese, WOW.) Brock the manager is there from morning till night overseeing everything and has made all our visits extra special. We’ll no doubt be back again soon, 5 stars from us all.
Overall I had a really unpleasant experience. There aren’t many options for sides with the eggs on toast so I was after a croissant or toastie, which the waitress said I could order if I go up.
I ended up asking for the croissant to be toasted and having to eat it over a paper bag with a knife and fork. I was in shock that I wasn’t even offered a plate. My coffee had gotten to the table and cooled down while I was gone. My friend had ordered the wilted greens with her eggs and they were over cooked and very bitter.
When going to pay we didn’t even get a hello from the manager, he just simply asked ‘what table were you on? ’ Which I found quite rude. He didn’t say another word. The floor staff were lovely but it seemed they weren’t getting any support to help serve all of the customers. I have been here twice now and will not be coming back.
We went on a Saturday night with some friends and it was such a great night.
The renovations have a European feel and have come up beautifully. The sandstone is impressive.
The Service was excellent, Brock was phenomenal and the pizza was fantastic. One of the best pizzas I've ever had and that says a lot.
The 72 hour fermented sourdough is the best!
I highly recommend.
