Stockade On Rubicon

First time I’ve been there and was not disappointed. Beautiful salad with chicken and chips. Husband has clearly been there before and swore by the pork and gravy roll. Huge portions too. Will be back (the scalloped spuds are next on my list, they looked good)

Came up here from Melbourne the other month (for the first time) and I mentioned to one of the workers to pass on a message: to please never close this joint!
(or if you do, open one closer to the city!)
Suburban Melb is crying for more places like these - but this chook shop was done right. From all the trimmings, sides, salads and even desert options - flawless range.
I hope to always stop by if I ever come through the region again.

WOW what a fantastic roast lamb with mint and gravy 10/10 Chips spot on 10/10 and the fried chicken was awesome. Will be back for sure!

Went there with my sister order the same and paid the same $$ turned out they give me in smaller package and smaller portion of food huge disappointment.

Thank you for your response, I already went back and asked about it and you wouldn’t fix it for me so my experience was less than satisfactory, which was disappointing for someone who enjoys food as much as I do. I feel that my issue wasn't adequately addressed, leaving me dissatisfied with my visit. I'm inclined to rate this experience with only one star, which is unusual for me. Still HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

$17.50 for 3 strip's and chips. Very sad amount of chips. Stockade on Rubicon once was a fantastic place to get a decent meal. Next time I will be going to KFC!

Stumbled upon the gem and was not disappointed.
Super delicious! We got the pork roast, chips and gravey, plain chips, chicken tenders and an amazing cookies and cream cheese cake.

I do food deliveries and I had two orders with me and didn't take the bag inside and the guy was telling me to remove the food items then bring the bag. He was really rude and not fit for customer service jobs. I really don't recommend them, don't even have a minimum common sense. ZERO RATING for their behavior.

$10.90 for a roast lamb roll that has hardly any meat in it, lucky for the gravy otherwise it would be just a dry roll. Won’t be back or recommending meals here

Normally the food is top notch, but most recent visit the chips were undercooked and barely edible. Can only assume it was due to ordering 15 minutes before they close, a bit disappointing after paying $7.50 for a small chips.

Was known for generous servings and have never had any issues until tonight. Large chips and gravy was practically half a serving (for $10 it’d want to be full) and the chicken was very dry. Not sure what’s changed recently, but it’s a shame.

Use to be good but the past 3 times iv been the chicken strips have been like cardboard. As if they use the night before chicken an just heat it up. Chips very under cooked an not eatable. Everything has gone up in price for smaller serving. $36 an I gave it to the dog an went back to the fish an chip shop next door to them… happens once yea that’s ok but 3 time in a row. Highly do not recommend.

Everytime hubby and I visit Ballarat this is our favourite place to grab food! Roasts here are incredibly delicious, and so are the salads, fried chicken and cakes. Great selection, highly recommend.

What are your roast spuds coated with? They're just Moorish. No-one will ever get near the taste.

Paid $10 for a seriously delicious ceasar wrap, asked if I could pay for some pork crackling. Was told, only for people who buy pork. There was tons, I offered to pay. Wasn't possible. How bizarre. I'm sure some of the crackling will just be wasted in the bin at EOD.

Great food and very nice ppl. I love it as it's so convenient for a healthy dinner when your too tired to cook.

Potato's are hands down THE BEST! Actually, so always the roast rolls! Always friendly service there too.
