Needed a Qick F & C. Hadn't into Steve's 4 4yrs. Though Steve not there now. Same Friendly, Curteous service, Good Quality Food. Will b back

The fish and chips where over cooked, I asked for flake I got hake instead asked for a grilled butter fish overcooked so dry everything was virtually unedable. Paid for a meal I had to throw away. The girls at the cooker where to busy chatting to keep an eye on what they where doing.

Today I tried Steve's for the first time and ordered a minimum chips super crispy. AND THEY CERTAINLY WERE THAT!
More often than not when you order fish and chips at other shops and ask for extra crispy, they still come out soggy. This was not the case at Steve's!

Overall, very pleased with the service, the brand of chicken salt and ultimately how crispy my chips were. Thank you!
Will be back in the future to try fish, potato cakes and burger - till then, keep up the good work!

Holy moly the chips here are good. I’d have preferred to buy a half size as the minimum serve is enormous and about 2/3 will go to waste. I’m not a small eater, I did my best and barely touched the sides. Crispy outside, hot and fluffy inside and as all good fish and chips should be- wrapped in paper not served on a cardboard tray (not for me). The flake was ok- batter not to thick or greasy but I prefer a thick crumb like you get in North Qld but this was ok. Good portion size, nice enough, but average not spectacular.
I appreciated the staff called regulars by name, old fashioned service in a proper fish and chip shop. Only thing missing was value packs and family deals on the blackboard.

Really great service. Steve is wonderful. The fish was very nice but the chips were amazing. I really enjoyed the steak sandwich too. This will definitely be our go to fish and chip shop from here on - even though we are 30mins away.

Fish was fresh and plump. Chip serving was huge. Most impressive was the friendly service. While we were waiting, two regular customers came in to collect their food and were greeted by name. Nice place

Having read some of the good reviews on here, i was very disappointed. Maybe I purchased on an off day. I was expecting a nice battered crispy fish but ended up with a wrinkled dry battered fish. I'm not sure, but it looked like it was reheated.

Spent $100 on fish and chips here for a group of 5. Fish, chips, potato cakes, dim Sims all nicely cooked. Was packed into a box for us. Very tasty and great service.

The prices here are ridiculously expensive now. Had been going for decades but finally stopped. Their prices are almost double compared to others. $8.50 for a fried burger patty! $4 anywhere else. $6 min chips! No fu#@ing way! Good bye. You're nothing but an opportunistic thief

A lot of precooked foods. Precooked battered fish (that is just wrong) takes literally 5 secs to cook fresh battered fish. I totally understand that people want their food quickly, but it cost a customer. I will never return. Obviously it is not fresh food. Everything was also over cooked. Just a really poor experience. Lots of room to improve should they desire it.

Great quality following on from the tradition set by Steve. Fair prices and great friendly customer service. Definately recommend. Top quality.

First time here, fish was amazing, all food was cooked perfect, staff were very friendly, I’ll definitely be back.

My go-to fish and chip shop as a Ballarat local! Always fresh, delicious food, great quantities and their chicken salt is my absolute favourite! The staff are super friendly! Lamb Souvlakis are always amazing too if you're not feeling like seafood! Highly recommend calling up in advance and ordering to pick up if you have the time!

The food serving size was OKAY, but taste wise it wasn't great. Food tasted stale, potato cakes felt dried up and were a struggle to eat. Flake had no taste. Due to all the positive reviews maybe I just had a bad batch, but not sure if I'll return again to risk it.

Fish n chips were great, banana fritters were a bit of a sloppy mess in a bag, batter slipped of them, not edible.

Very good service.flake is so good.l drive from Cranbourne to Naree Warren just to get tea from them.great prices
