St Patrick's Cathedral reviews
28Fabulous Building with good atmosphere to pray.but the colour of toilet's light was quite strange
Breath taking Cathedral, truly an epic monument of the Faith and house of God. However the clergy running it. Liberalism is very dangerous and not Catholic!
Love attending saint Patrick cathedral, mass and Thursday evening holy hour
@ 6: 30 P m. Plenty parking spots available in front of church and close walk from parliament train station.
God Bless everyone
Very welcoming and ecumenical for Mass in the Cathedral itself and also well set up for online services. A stunning location and great gift shop.
Believer or else, the architecture and beauty is wonderful. Glory to the Lord (apology showing bias). Absolutely a testament of faith, devotion and engineering diligence. Stunning use of light and colour in design.
St Patrick’s Cathedral, East Melbourne, Victoria. The cathedral was dedicated to St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Beautiful Cathedral!
Once inside we were amazed by the the stain glass artwork and the architecture. It's very well set out and would look breathtaking during a wedding or Christmas service.
Saint Patrick, amazing blessing modern church. I love and enjoy attending 6: 30Pm holy hour adoration on Thursdays evenings. Very holy and spiritual
God bless everyone. God loves us all.:)
Churches should be welcoming sanctuaries in which the faithful may pray.
This Cathedral is beautiful and services too have the capacity at times to be truly reverent our Lord's presence is always a wonderful thing. But this is not what I am reviewing today. Nor am I reviewing the sacred music or the actual liturgical aspect.
The doors are most of the time closed to public. I can understand shutting doors to secular bridezillas in search of epic photography or snappy tourists who lack respect for the space but it seems this place is closed to the very people who wish to pray in the place!
There is nothing more disconcerting to me than being greeted by a security guard and told you cannot go in to rehearse for the upcoming service, to pray before or after a service or simply to pray.
We don't see Catholic security guards outside mosques, temples or synagogues banning their congregations from entry. Why then do we Catholics have to face non catholics banning us from entry? 1
Keep the place safe, keep yourselves safe, I get that but show some reasonable judgement.
Glorious, stunning cathedral just to admire the architecture, floral displays, gardens or the music - or to attend mass which is spectacular especially at 11: 00 Sundays and especially for feast days.
Beautiful cathedral in the heart of Melbourne with tram stops close by and 5-10 minute walking distance from Parliament train station.
Peaceful feeling inside and outside
I need to have a look inside this church, since I'm there nearby already.
Editing and adding to this review, there is not many visitors in the church, located near government buildings/area, probably. A district that is only favourable to artist and also tourist nowadays.
Tourist are enroute to this destination by tram line. Very thoughtful route cause there are gardens beautifully trimmed and landscaped, for a clear bright day.magnificent piece of work.
Beautifully old Gothic revival cathedral in the heart of Melbourne. Rich history, and open to the public. Please be respectful and reverent when in the Cathedral and around the building as it is immensely important to Catholics and Christians who use it as a place of worship. It is not a museum.
The cathedral was amazing. Had my sister's wedding here. The priest's has a very weird sense of humour. Very sarcastic and came across abrupt at our first meeting. Put me off for sure. Spoke to other family members who were present at the time and who have had previous experience with the priest, they did the same thing.
If you are planning on having your wedding here, definitely consider bringing your own priest.
We didn't go inside but enjoyed wandering the grounds - a stunning building with a nice surrounding garden, quite a few statues around to explore if you like that sort of thing, as well as benches to sit and take in the view.
Both times when we went there it was not open to public due to school kids visit, third time we made it
It is a nice historic church that is good to go to church on the weekend and weekdays it's got some history behind it and it is very good to see all the history about how and when this church was made and when it was established and it is also good to have a wedding or a funeral or whatever you need to go to but definitely it is a nice place to definitely recommend to check up on the history of the church in Melbourne and good for tourists to check it out as well
Great Gothic cathedral in the heart of Melbourne with amazing architecture. It’s the main catholic church in Melbourne and quite close to fitzroy and Carlton Gardens. It has 3 impressive and tall spires. Definitely worth a visit if you are around Melbourne.
Beautiful monument right in the heart of the city. Worth visit for any one visiting parliament or treasury, it's just few yards away.
Home of the Lord! Peaceful and welcoming feeling! It is open to public! You wouldn't regret every min of your visit!
