Spread Eagle Hotel reviews
62Great tucker.prices not silly, and an old time dining room along with a top selection of beers, wines etc. The chairs in the dining room are a bit low for the ladies tho'.
I’ve been coming to the Spready for a couple of years now and their service has been consistently great, if not a little better as time has gone on. No matter which member of staff you deal with, you’re in for friendly and personal vibes. They constantly put in effort to make sure the 3121 locals are remembered and looked after and the food slaps too. (Try the prawn spring rolls for a snack with your pint)
I've engaged with Spread Eagle Hotel for two private functions and they've been great to communicate with. Very prompt and informative before the function. The revised set menu has been delicious on both occasions and were quite accommodating for those who had dietary requirements. They were able to provide a set entree menu to order off. Service was friendly and efficient. Definitely gets busy depending on what night is, Thursday night is steak night. Worth a visit in the Richmond area.
As always a great lunch at the Spreadeagle pub. Excellent service and food. We ordered lots of entrees, including the yummy potato cakes and bao buns. The veal schnitzel was delicious too.
We will be back.
The perfect locals pub with a sun filled front bar complete with fireplace, side walk seating, back bar and upstairs dining. Sundays are a Parma special with $8 pints of Baltertried the spicy Parma last week and was very good, awesome service too!
To be honest we were really disappointed for our visit on sunday for father’s day, i had been wanting to visit the spread eagle for a while now.
The food was average at best (sorry), we spent over $200 for a family of 5, with 3kids (kids meals prices) and the 10% service charge is another gripe that is sneaking into Australia, the seating lacked atmosphere upstairs.service was great though, one thing i wish i did was check the receipt properly, was hoping to give a better review, but can’t.
Service wise Maddie was great as a server very helpful with the table as we wanted to change our reserved seating arrangement and very informative just great all round. The food was mid arancini seemed store bought and not very flavourful and the Parma wasn’t really a stand out as it was quite small for the price compared to others I’ve seen from competing hotels. The atmosphere was quiet which was ok but paying bills there was a line at the til up the top and the til downstairs was hard to get someone to serve you and then they did serve you they didn’t know where you were seated so took ages to find our table on the screen basically picked every table until there was only 1 left which was ours. All in all I’d say a 3 out 5 all around but individual server was a stand out
The food was OK, although the batter on the fish was far too heavy. The service was OK, but it was pretty busy at the time, and there were a few groups of people on different tables, we had 12.
Lovely venue, great service, great wine! However very disappointed with the food. I ordered steak (medium) and chips/salad. Although promptly received, the steak was very over cooked, as were the chips. So much to the fact I couldn’t really enjoy it at all.
Fantastic pub, excellent food and brilliant staff. Been years since I was here, but will be back soon.
One of the best pubs in Melbourne, fantastic food and extremely friendly staff, nothing too hard. 10/10
Such a lovely vibe. Food was delicious! Super cute waitress was looking after us, will definitely be back!
Great!
Thurs locals night meat draw and raffle
Food was awesome. People friendly
Highly recommended
Pub vibes with no grunge
Richmond is blessed with some great pub steak nights and this is is no exception. Was a walk-in customer around 6pm, so was advised could only have the table for 90 mins which was fair.
The standard steak comes with scallop potatoes and rocket salad, but you can upgrade to chips for $3. Very well cooked (medium rare) and loved the thick cut portion. Loved the butter on top which is standard.
The atmosphere was buzzing for a cold rainy Wednesday night, so I strongly recommend booking ahead. The customer service was excellent.
The Spread Eagle have always catered to our committee meetings amazingly! Thanks for all the support.
Absolutely disgusted in the venue as a booking was made for dinner at 7: 30pm.arrived with no mobility aids (wheelchair or cane) as I don't go out often and i did as it was Richmond playing, i arrived in time to see the first bounce but was asked to leave as security at the door couldn't understand I had a disability and wasn't drunk. Security never asked anything and led me to the door, and I questioned him and explained I have a disability but he did not believe me i showed him my doctors report. He then asked if he can show his manager. Very uneducated security if a legitimate report needed to be displayed and shown to his manager.he was completely determined that he was correct and I was drunk, which I wasn't, only going to have dinner but my night ended early as security made a poor judgement. The night dropped my self esteem and confidence again which Made my night over and in bed. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED IN THE VENUE FOR NOT ALLOWING DISABLED GUESTS WITHOUT BEING JUDGED ENJOY A QUIET MEAL TOGETHER WITH MY PARTNER. IT IS ALREADY DIFFICULT LIVING WITH A DISABILITY, BUT TO BE KICKED OUT WITH SECURITY'S POOR JUDGEMENT. SORRY SPREAD EAGLE THAT NO ONES IS PERFECT!

DISABILITY IS NOT A JOKE!
Had a fantastic pub lunch pre football final. Both the dining and bar areas are well fitted & furnished. Bar staff really friendly & efficient. Will definitely become part of our weekend football routine
Great pub, great atmosphere, friendly staff. The only grizzle is this. On the menu “Korean fried chicken” not what I received. I received marinated chicken wings. There’s a difference. We all looked at the dish and said, yeah, that’s not Korean fried chicken.
Perhaps change the description. Good for thought.
Awesome food otherwise
My favourite pub in Richmond. Great hospitality, a high quality and regionally diverse wine list and excellent food. Love the homely vibe and friendly atmosphere. My group had a wonderful lunch in the dining room and will be back.
Service and food were flawless. Ellie did and exceptional job looking after us all evening. Will definitely return. Thanks heaps Team Eagle
