Spirit of Punjab reviews
48 Mediocre quality when you compare it with other Indian restaurants in Melbourne, it's a little expensive as compared to Australian standards.
Something worth noting was the sculptures depicting Indian culture outside the restaurant.
Overall an average experience
First time to try authentic Indian Cuisine, and they nailed it. Tasty, well marinated, fresh, good serving, quick and good service.
Recommended Tandoori chicken, garlic naan and mushrooms entree.
Got a takeaway tandoori chicken. Two legs and two thighs. Dry on outside and unpleasant in. This was the worst takeaway I've had in a long time. I think they may be taking advantage of the transient takeaway tourists. Have never written a review before, but this was exceptionally bad and a rip-off. I've loved Indian food for years. This was a terrible and disrespectful experience.
Great Indian food. Deducted 1 star as we had to wait quite a bit from entrée to main. Lovely staff!
By the way when staff tell you that Medium chilli is hot you have to trust them
Best curry I've had outside London and I'm a huge fan of Indian food and very fussy. Delicious authentic food, friendly attentive service and a free treat from the chef in response to our praise. Amazing to find such a gem in regional Victoria. If it was closer to Melbourne I'd be there every weekend!
Local love. Over years years of coming here, one of the best indian restaurant I've ever eaten at. Currys are authentic straight from Punjab and beautiful flavours. Careful if you want it hot or volcano, as the team won't hold back the heat.
Definitely best Indian in Time
The first time to eat Indian food and the best time I have meal in halls gap. No strong smell and super good taste.
The BEST Indian restaurant in Victoria. Authentic flavours and great atmosphere. Worth the trip here. Very full and satisfied Great service. Booking is recommended as this is very popular place.
Good restaurant in Halls gap, Nice ambience.
Cannot compare with tastes of original Punjab delicacy.
Tandoori chicken is good.
Aloo Parota is horrible. They call it as masala Parota.
Never heard in India, the Dish called Beef Andhra.
Beef curry is common dish in Kerala restaurants
Anyway. Good solace for Indians, who crave for indian food
A restaurant operated by Punjabis. Outside of the restaurant is decorated with beautiful art and inside, you can have delicious indian meals. If you are visiting Halls Gap while going to Gramlians, it's a good place to have food. We have dinner and samosas in the morning as breakfast. Quite delicious. Staffs are hospitable. Superb experience
Always reliable 15 minute wait times for take away which is pretty quick and the food is consistent and good. Try the Vindaloo!
Entree was nice. Mains was disappointing. Very watery, prawns was over cooked, lamb was tough, not alot of taste.
It was first time i tried Indian foods. So yummy and beautiful place. Every one should try it. Thanks for everything
Worst meal in recent memory. Maybe the chef was sick last night or something but me and my girlfriend couldn't even finish our butter chicken and black bean dahl.
Food was delicious.staff was very friendly and the environment was really cool.wait times for food is not long at all
Delicious and authentic Indian fare. The curries were packed with flavour and the naan sublime. Would highly reccomend if staying in the area, especially since Halls Gap seems to be very limited when it comes to decent eateries.
Worst Experience, Lack of Customer service, Not recommended! I would have given Zero if there’ll be an option
We got some takeaway from this place. Best butter chicken I have ever had. Tender pieces of chicken from tandoor in beautiful sauce. Portion size was also generous. Roti and Lamb roghan joosh were average.
Great atmosphere and full of quirky and kitsch artworks and sculptures. Food was really good; authentic northern Indian cuisine. Very prompt service.
