An institution in Melbourne, when you walk in you get to travel back in time and get to experience the same authenticity and quality of food of years back when they first opened.
Generous and honest food and very friendly customer service. Need to book ahead as walk-ins are not accepted.

Followed the online booking process to make a reservation 30 hours ahead of time. Received an automated email saying I will be contacted to confirm booking.
No response received until I rang the restaurant at 11: 30am the following day to follow up re the request. I was advised they were fully booked which isn’t an issue & I totally understand. But when I raised the lack of notification that the booking could not be accepted, the staff member responded by being rude & a smart a$$e. 20 mins after that call someone finally bothered to send a fully booked notification email. Very poor customer service, rude staff & poor communication.

It’s a nice experience having dinner here. The restaurant looks so nice with the vintage portrait displays and the live music. Cool venue, attentive staff, and the main thing is the food is amazing, and the dessert is incredible!
Must try!

Great service. Very friendly. I enjoyed my birthday with friends. Nice atmosphere. Good for families. Will definitely go back and try more on the menu. The meals were good and prices were reasonable.

The perfect epitome of the best restaurant to go to prior to the Theatre. Great staff with superb communication, even understaffed they managed to serve everyone pronto. A peaceful Italian aesthetic really complimented the food. A small but flavoursome menu was great for a evening out. Nothing but smiles leaving old Spaghetti Tree

Probably need to fix the online booking system as I booked online and when I got there, they didn't have my reservation, but luckily there were tables free for us to sit at.

However, we waited longer to be served than when our food came out. We did notice it was busy, and I'm very patient when it comes to service, especially in these pandemic times, but no one came to us for a good 20mins and they were still going to other tables. I am also not one of those people that try to click or be rude to servers, so just sat there waiting, trying to make eye contact with ANY of the waiters.

Unfortunately, they didn't offer us water like other tables, but we did get our food in a timely manner, so that's a major bonus!
Food was really delicious, Spaghetti Bolognese and Penne Martriciana were great, both steaming hot!

I'd definitely recommend going here! Just try not to get a middle table or else you might be lost in the sea of tables and not get served for a bit.

It was a late night after seeing candle light show at Fed square, that show was awesome.after that we weren’t so hungry but wanna have a drink, we picked the spaghetti tree, they have the most amazing h interiors i have ever seen, they are vintage, the lantern hanging on the ceiling, pianist playing.we had polenta chips and wedges.so good to relaxing here

This restaurant is always amazing. Their food is fantastic (just as good as Lygon Street). Went recently to support them during covid and although the manager informed us they were very short staffed (as many places are currently) they still had speedy, friendly service. Please support this venue and keep them going during this difficult time.

This restaurant serves very good yet simple food. We always order their pasta dishes as their serving is so generous and cooked in classic styles. Steak, garlic prawns and veal dishes are excellent. Their duty manager provides outstanding customer service. It’s always our family’s go to place to celebrate special events.

The restaurant had a very rustic feel, and a wonderful ambience. The staff were helpful, and the food was delicious. The music could make conversation a tad difficult, but didn't really affect the good points of the place. A great place to eat IMHO.

It was an amazing experience having dinner at this place. The waiters were very accommodating and friendly. The hot chocolate with marshmallow is must to have on a cold evening. We ate a vegetarian sauce version of Pasta Al Primavera and Bruschetta which were delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Horrible experience! Food arrived Stone cold I reported it to the waiter (who was lovely) And he took it away. It came back hot from the microwave same plate same mash potatoes with a hole from my finger. Really poor! Doubt they have a Haccp plan in place! Avoid dining here.

Went here before seeing frozen the musical. Great place to get dinner was delicious and quick so we didn't have to rush to get to the theatre.

Quite popular with families, if you have kids, or you're just looking to sit down with Friends, this is a welcoming option. The food I had was delicious. Very juicy Chicken, and my partner's ravioli was a awesome.

Had a wonderful dinner with our two small kids early in the evening. Staff was fantastic! Both friendly and the right amount of attentive.

What a fabulous place to eat, drink and socialise. The manager Vesh (unsure of spelling) was extremely hospitable, friendly and very entertaining. The food was amazingly cooked to perfection?

My meal was excellent and they were able to serve us quickly as requested because we only had 30 minutes. Excellent service.

Food was nice, however service was terrible. I had to go and find a waiter so my table could order food, we weren't offered a dessert menu or drink refills and also had to ask for the bill to pay. Will not be returning.

Wonderful family restaurant serves by friendly and welcoming staff. We had a pair of delicious pasta dishes and our server waited upon my daughter diligently and brought her extra pasta and a free serve of ice cream. My serve of penne matriciana was excellent, and we'd definitely come back again.

Fast service and yummy food perfect before a show. Fettuccine carbonara was moorish and the Parma was very nice. Only criticism is the chips were a bit average and lacking of crisp. Reasonable prices so would come back again.
