We love this restaurant serving beautiful cuisine from southern India. We have been many times, service is impeccable hosted by Jaspa and his son. Very reasonable prices!

We just had a beautiful and delicious meal. The service was so warm and the food was fragrant and delicious! The Goan fish curry was particularly good!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Melbourne. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I'm always delighted with my meal! Service is also great and always efficient. People are very warm, happy, and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere amazing to have a nice dinner in Melbourne.

First time ordering from Southall last night - absolutely outstanding! Puts lengths on Babu Ji, high quality ingredients and similarly priced. The beef vindaloo was lip smackingly good.

10/10 - although no need to turn down the heat! Will be my first choice from now on.

A venue that endears one to the warmth of its hosts. An enthusiastic Father and Son combination, with a passion for people and food. Ive been eating here and ordering take away for my Children, since a crazy red head introduced me to the place. Sorry, the adverb is redundant. Where the humour is on par with the repast.joseph cade

The BEST Indian food I have ever had - hands down. The curries were PACKED with flavour and the fish curry was just divine. Seriously can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Thank you for coming into my life Southall!)

One word - Brilliant! These folks know their stuff, they have been part of Melbourne Indian food journey since the 1990s and fortunately I'm lucky to experience it for about that long too! There weren't many Indian restaurants back then, will share more about this another time, now back to the review.

Cosy little place that will surprise most fussy connoisseurs. The owners, chefs, support crew all are passionate in bringing that amazing Indian experience on a plate. Starters and mains are all freshly made, quality is up there with the best.

Full 5 stars for us, this place easily passes our drive 50kms one way to source a great meal in Melbourne test.

Keep the tandoor hot and the chicken tikka marinated, we will be back soon.

Excellent Indian food, great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. We turned up on the eve of Melbourne lockdown 5 with no reservation and they were kind enough to accomodate us!

The most incredible Indian food I have ever eaten! The Lamb Biriyani is the finest I have ever eaten. Keema naan to blow your tastebuds. We will be back here regularly.

Way overpriced for below average Indian. Cost is $25 for lamb biryani. It's half a kilo of rice with three pieces of Chuck lamb the size of 10 cent coins. There was one singular cashew. Naan was cold and and totally burnt at the same time. Go to IIndia, around the corner and cheaper and much tastier

Great Indian classic dishes. Service first rate and, perhaps surprisingly, very knowledgeable on wine. Go to dishes Chicken Tikka and Beef Vindaloo. One of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne.

We have eaten here a few times before but it was a little while ago, the food didn't seem to be at the standard I remembered but still very tasty Indian cuisine with friendly service

Get the lamb cutlets for an entree and get your mind blown. Awesome service and reasonable prices. I will definitely go back and eat my way through the menu!

Indian food isn’t usually my go to but this place is special! The food is always so delicious, fresh and just right. Flavours are so yummy. Staff are always friendly, it’s only a small place but the style and ambiance is lovely. One of our regular date night places

Best Indian food I've had in Melbourne. The lamb biriyani and barramundi special are both excellent. Nice dining atmosphere and friendly staff.

If i could rate Southall higher than 5 star, i would! Apart from the food being the BEST Indian food I've ever eaten, the hospitality and genuine interaction with the staff was so lovely. My family of 5 came here for dinner and left learning about the authentic way to eat Indian food as well as the recipes behind the wonderful ice cream. The restaursnt itself is lovely with a great layout and wonderful photos and art work decorating the interior. If you are looking for an Indian dining experience, look no further than Southall. The best taste of India in Melbourne!

Amazing restaurant. We had a butter chicken, lamb Rogan and a vegetarian curry and the flavours were amazing.

Amazingly friendly staff. Really clean healthy food. It's hard not to over eat. Will definitely be our goto local Indian restaurant!
