Sonnys Fried Chicken & Burgers

Chicken burgers worth coming from interstate for. Seriously, we come to Melbourne specifically for these burgers. Even if the venue is a dive - but our kind of dive. Oh, and it's like the same price as Maccas. Check it out. Everything is nice and clean. I highly recommended this place.

Recommended by a mate. Must have been a off day for the place and contrary to the amazing reviews on here. This was not a good takeaway experience. Unseasoned bland crumbing topped off by very greasy fried chicken.

My partner and I were looking high and low for a fried chicken joint. All seemed lost as location after location we drove past were closed. Our hopes appeared to be dashed until finally we stumbled across Sonnys Fried Chicken.

The chicken was so damn juicy and the sauces were a perfect addition alongside the loaded fries. As we dug into our meal in our car, we both realised we were experiencing the best fast food in Melbourne. 10/10

Foods great but I can't eat inside here as it smells like a combination of per and beer on wooden floors.take Ur food and go to the park

Super slow service, bartenders seem really distracted and some drinks like the margaritas are really overpriced. Also the interior like the bar stools are run down and their toilet locks don't work.

Really delicious vegetarian options which all had good portion sizes and at a fair price. The place itself has a nice look and ambiance to it. Unfortunately the service didn't live up to this standard - My friends and I were quietly deciding what we would like to eat before being impatiently demanded by a waiter that we give her our orders now. Because of this I had to take a star off and may not return.

Already reviewed this under "The Curtin". It's the same place. Close access with public transport and a short walk.

Disappointing fried chicken (not crisp, one was undercooked/pink in the middle). Biscuits were dry and gritty.

Burger was good but even whilst serving me the blonde bartender couldnt do me the favour of pausing her conversation which led to me getting the wrong drink.

Great surprise find on our trip to Melbourne. Fried chicken was definitely top notch. Glad we were able to go.

Hands down the best fried chicken, and chicken burger in Melbourne. The Sonny's Burger is a must try, juicy chicken, zesty slaw and a soft bun. Don't forget the loaded fries and of course a side of delicious chicken. There is a wide range of beers available, plenty of seating and friendly service in a relaxed environment.

Good quick eat. I was very impressed - I left my bag by mistake and recovered it 6 hours later. Not only pleasant service, also good people!

This joint is amazing for many reasons, but perhaps the most remarkable thing is that although they focus on fried chicken, their 'Cheeseburger' is IMO the best beef burger in Melbourne at the moment. They are located within The Curtin which is essentially a dive bar, but don't judge this book by its cover - everything I've tried on the menu is delicious. Chook galore, burgers, incredible sides such as loaded fries, biscuits 'n' gravy (American-style biscuits) and salads. Mouth-watering fare!

Excellent chicken burger. One of the best around IMHO. Fried pickles are a treat too. On the whole great pub with very reasonably priced and a good feel.

Amazing American Burger?
Enjoyed so much, doubled up on the CB and was honestly delicious. Held the fries as trying to be good but chippies getting placed around me looked crunchy n perfectly cooked. Stoked I popped in for a quick burger n vino thanks, Sonnys!

Came for the fried chicken. Venue was relaxing and staff was nice. The fried chicken was crispy, the batter was tasty but somehow the chicken meat inside wasnt juicy or full of flavour. The sides were nice.

Pretty good Southern Style Fried Chicken in an old school dive of a Melbourne Pub. Tasty chicken, quick service, good beers on tap too. Worth a look.

I don't normally have fried chicken burgers but I probably just ate the best one I've ever had. Also they sell cheap beer

This place is a little slice of southern USA comfort right here in a Melbourne! The fried chicken was juicy and so tasty, the burger was amazing and the collard greens were like being back in Georgia! Will definitely be back
