Sommai Thai

Travelled from Croydon to Tecoma for takeaway and it was well worth it. The star of the meal were the dumplings - so different and so delicious. Everyting was excellent, though.

This is our favorite Thai restaurant that we frequently dine at. Family run friendly staff and delicious food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Excellent service and food. Some classic Thai food, as well as others with a modern twist. Very tasty!

In lockdown I was petrified to WANT, NEED, something delicious that we didn’t have to cook ourselves for once but was convinced I’d be disappointed. I was 100% NOT disappointed with Sommai Thai. Why have we waited so long to go up the road a little for a better meal? Totally our loss but we will not be making that mistake again! YUM! You guys are terrific! Thank you!

Sommai dumplings were very doughy. Green curry was mediocre and lacked any real flavour. Basil leaf beef was the best tasting dish but lacked freshness. All-in-all, an ok Thai meal.

Stumbled across an authentic Thai restaurant, unbelievable. The food was fantastic. The service very friendly and accomodating. The meals are delicious, the menu is broad and covers all tastes. If you are looking for that authentic Thai taste, you must give this restaurant a go. Relatively new for the area it is a small and friendly restaurant that will leave you wanting more. Be advised you MUST book for dinner otherwise use the take away option. We will definitely be back. We tried the fish cakes - amazing, the duck curry and beef salad - all were delicious. Thank you.

Food is beautifully authentic and staff are lovely. My only critisicm is the food is quite slow to come out. However, worth the wait.

Not much favour except sour. Chicken pad thai- quite orange and the sauce was weak just tasted of peanuts and quite dry. Lemon barramundi- but weird to have lettuce served with it and was expecting a whole filet of fish but had slices again way too sour.had a prawn dish and there were quite a few nice prawns and that was ok but not much stir fry veg so it was just prawns in a mild sauce. Chicken satay and Thai cakes were ok as starters cant really go wrong with those.

I’ve had 2 takeaway orders from here so far. Been happy with the food, and the staff have taken time to confirm each item in my order before handing it over. Very impressed!

The food was outstanding, the service, fantastic and the ambiance, warm and cozy. The menu has nice variety plus some standards. Above average dining experience.

Good food but most importantly lovely people. I was looking for late night food and had called them asking if they were still open, and they agreed to wait for me to show up and served me quite late.

Lovely food and friendly, attentive staff. We had great meal. Food was authentic and fresh (lots of fresh herbs). Ambiance might be a little lacking but given the location they've done a good job. Will definitely go back.

We were very hesitant as the previous owner of this property had changed names several times and we wondered whether it was the same owner. There are new owners and they are doing a great job. From the initial phone call we were made to feel very welcome. Food was very good. Service was attentive and when one of our guests had dietary requirements, they brought the chef out to confirm what she could have. Great flavours, fresh food. We will be back!

One of our favourite parts of the week is when we head out to dinner with our kids to try new foods. We love Thai, and heard from friends about Sommai Thai in Tecoma. Has to be some of the best authentic Thai food we've tasted anywhere. No wonder, as the kitchen is home to sister and mum team of Thai ladies who produce simply amazing food from their homeland - the real deal! The service is warm and friendly, and they are really inclusive of kids too. Top marks team Sommai Thai - we'll see you again soon.
