Solargain Bairnsdale re worked our existing non functional and non compliant full off grid system and transformed it into a fully functioning solar and hot water system. Ben and Jeremys knowledge, honesty and reliability is second to none. Were all other installers ran these guys steped up and provided our family with a cost effective and reliable system. Over the last couple of years I’ve had Solargain install solar panels, SolarEdge inverters and most recently a SolarEdge battery, with each component working as it should and providing our household with excellent energy savings and efficiencies. On several occasions when I’ve needed maintenance or support, each event has been handled promptly by thoughtful and experienced staff or contractors.

In particular, Tom Liston has delivered excellent customer service with his attention to detail, and his knowledge of products faultless. Tom has resolved my queries in a timely manner, whether directly, or guiding me to the most appropriate person.

Consequently, I have no hesitation in recommending Solargain – their product recommendations have been wholly suitable to my application while their customer service exemplary.

My husband and I spent a fair amount of time researching solar companies as well as solar panels and in the end we went with Solargain because of their customer service, quality panel selection, and pricing. Liam offered great customer service and provided several options to suit our needs. The entire team was very knowledgeable about the products, replied to emails very quickly and communicated well throughout the entire process. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the installation, which is outsourced, but a roof tile was cracked and we ended up with interior water damage. We are Melbourne based and I suppose installations company vary by location. I would definitely recommend Solargain to friends and family.

Michael Mannig from Solargain has been an invaluable source of information when it came to trouble shooting my solar installation. I would highly recommend Mick and his team with anything Solar.

I regret using this company, they were "referred" by Ikea so I thought there would have been some due diligence about their service but apparently not.

The installer is fine but the salesperson didn't take my questions about my electricals seriously, if they had of they would have sent out an electrician to inspect my wiring to see if what I was asking for was possible. He didn't, so I got a rude shock on the install date, when half the system is already installed, when the installer tells me the consumption monitoring couldn't be installed, and it led to a bit of a question about whether the whole system would be passed by the inspector (it was, but still waiting for the papers to be submitted regarding the meter upgrade, not sure how that will go). Not what you want to be worried about when you've spent thousands on a system. It's disappointing because I wanted consumption monitoring for a specific reason, but now don't have it, and I wouldn't have proceeded with the install if it wasn't possible to do (I would have done more research and tried to figure out what I needed to modify to get it to work).

When I mentioned this to him he got super defensive and said it was my fault for not asking the right question. I'm not an electrician, I raised my concerns as a non-expert. Given he works for a company that employs electricians he should have gotten an electrician to check over what I was asking.

Then when I asked for a refund for the part that didn't get installed they low balled me by only discounting their cost price of the unit, which is my fault for not getting them to itemise the cost of each part of the install in the invoice, but it basically means they get to claw back part of the discount they gave me.

Then he sends an email demanding I pay the invoice, when they haven't even sent me the updated invoice yet.

Other than that the system seems to work fine, and to be fair the other people I have dealt with have been OK, which is why it gets three stars.

Great experience with Solargain. Our Sales consultant Tom Liston did an amazing job from the 1st interaction till after the system was installed he provided out standing support throughout. Solargain was very helpful in designing the best possible solution that fits our needs at a reasonable price. The installation contractor also did a great job every thing was done with highest standard of professionalism. System was installed couple of months ago and so far we have no issues. We recommend Solargain.

I've had a number of serious issues that prevent me from recommending this company to anyone. I was told a number of things by the sales rep that ended up not being true, as confirmed by the installation team. Then installation happened a month ago (January 2023). Every time I call Solargain to ask about it (because they never contact me, even to call me back after leaving a message), they have a different story - I've been told that they are waiting for something from the installer (though the installer told me it was all correct) and also that they're waiting on a new part, and also that it's all fine and an inspector will contact me shortly. Finally an inspector came and activated it, but the system stopped working not even 24 hours later. After calling (and not being called back like I was promised), I got some emails, and it finally appears to be working. So that's one good thing, at least!

I don't post many reviews and only do so when the service is exceptional. My partner and i had hesitated for many years regarding installing solar panel. We'd heard of lots of negative experiences. I worked in event management for more than 20 years and I have learned to be very selective with my choices of service providers. I am interested in long term relationships.

Solargain came to my attention by chance through the association with Ikea. This seemed like a good start, as I assumed that a company like Ikea would be really careful about their endorsement of a local company.

From start to finish, the customer service has been exemplary, clear quoting, competitive pricing, easy to understand timelines, regular updates, work completed on time, timely responses to any of our enquiries and super friendly and respectful tradies.

I have no hesitation giving my full and enthusiastic endorsement!

Avoid these guys like the absolute plague. We chose to go with another company and the guy whom I won't name then called & messaged my wife telling her we made a mistake and trying to guilt her into changing her mind. Manipulative. My wife was left feeling abused and horrible after the call oy to be followed up by coercive SMS a few moments later.

From first phone call to finished system I was treated with respect and nothing was a problem. Being of a mature age everything was explained to me so as to understand the process.

I found Tom Liston at Solargain always willing to respond to my many pre-purchase queries (I did a lot of research and made several approaches to a short list of three PV installers - I bounced between them as each one seemed to give me new and, at times, what appeared to be conflicting information). Tom always gave me the time I needed, and went through pros and cons for me. The install crew were professional and courteous, even in mid-30 degree ambient heat (+10 degrees C on my tin roof) ; I was impressed how professional the installers were despite the heat (which probably would've bothered me; if it was me on the roof). And the follow up service (post-install) has been very good. I have needed help with setting up my iStore as well as the Fronius ap. I rank Solargain's after sales support better than most organisations I have purchased a product from. And I am more than pleased with the performance of my LG Neon R panels and Fronius inverter.

We accepted two quotes from SolarGain for rooftop solar, our roof was measured and an installation date given for January 2023. Just before Christmas 2022 the company told us they were unable to proceed with our job. They never ever suggested our job would be difficult. Bitterly disappointed. No way to run a business, surely. Avoid SolarGain at all costs.

Solargain have been great. In this difficult time to build with all the delays they have been flexible and co-operative, having to work around our ever changing build schedule. Thanks for all your help Solargain.

Absolute waste of time. Talk a good game initially but when I was just about to sign the initial agreement the sales person all of a sudden mentions that we have a "non standard installation". Then when their inspector came out, after I signed the agreement, to inspect the site (because they don't do this before sending you the quote) he did a really poor job and thought that there was no proper access to the roof and that they would need scaffolding so they tried to add another 3k to the quote. Fortunately, I had gotten 3 other quotes and checked with all 3 companies about the "non standard" and the scaffolding. Luckily they did have proper inspectors and there were no issues. Had solar installed last week by one of their better competitors and they were done within a day and the Solar inspector came out a few days later and signed everything off. It seems they only like the quick and easy gigs so they can make the most money. Go to Solarquotes.com.au and choose anybody but Solargain if you feel their might be a challenge.
