Love coming to this club. Such friendly positive people, great workshops, and a great opportunity to practice speaking in front of people who only want to help you improve. I’ve visited many different clubs all over the world, and no others give as much variety and fun as this one. Give it a try.

I had visited quite a few clubs before I joined Smashing the Envelope. It definitely one of the best clubs among public speaking. It was a bit challenging at the beginning but it pushes you forward and you will grow out of it. People are very friendly and supportive too. If you are into public speaking you should check it out yourself!

I remember not even being able to look anyone in the eye while speaking in front of an audience during my first meeting. Through practice and the support/encouragement I received from the club members however, I've gradually improved my public speaking and leadership skills. What I like the most about Smashing is its diverse members with different cultures and skill levels. Every meeting is always fun and challenging.

Smashing the Envelope is truly the most amazing group of people all working together to help improve their public speaking and leadership skills. It truly is a club run by the members for the members.

I now live in another country but still remain a member of this club as it has become an extended family for me.

Hope to see you all sometime soon:)

I was super intimidated about joining a public speaking club at first, but everyone is really friendly and supportive. Great place if you want to improve your improv speaking, public speaking, debating, leadership skills, or just your social confidence in general. Doesn't matter if you're really shy, or loud, or if English is your first, second or third language, Smashing welcomes everyone. Very affordable too! (especially if you come every week) :)

This is no longer a Toastmasters club and should not be called a Toastmasters club. This is a private business. (no star rating)

Smashing is surely not a typical speaking club. Not because it has the most passionate speakers in Melbourne. Not because it is the biggest club in Victoria. But because the primary focus is helping each other to improve. Club meets are not just focused on breeding a single rock star speaker like it happens is other clubs. The main goal is growing together and making sure everyone gradually improves with the help of constant challenges and heaps of practice.

A fantastic place to practice speaking, very supportive and friendly team. As a member, I got more opportunities to get onto the stage. This club has diversity of people with different speech levels, it is safe to get started, also get valuable feedback from experienced ones. Joining this club is one of the best decisions I have made.

The club not only teaches public speaking but nurtures members to be bold, engaging and charismatic. I have been to four toastmasters club as a guest. Joined this club after finding it friendliest, most engaging and a supportive place to improve public speaking and leadership skills.

Very interesting club with many creative activities that continue force you to push against your own limitations. Very kind group of people with very diverse range of gender and ethnicity.

I was very shy and horrible at public speaking let alone impromptu speaking. But the group, especially the leader, has push me to become better and better every meeting. I appreciate and very enjoy the time here. Highly recommend.

I have attended many activities in meetups. The this event was the only one which I attended and want to come back again and again. I first join their event in the beach of Williamstown. I run to there very late, the last 1 hour. I felt very regret that I couldn’t come earlier. It was my first time to give a talk, evaluate and have a debate in front of a group of people. I had never done this anywhere. It was amazingly fantastic! AJ host the activity, he was so brilliant! He knew how to interact with each person perfectly! Everyone was so brilliant and confident to give a talk in the public. I was a bit nervous at the beginning, but then got in it after a few minutes. Nobody knew the talk topic until you stand on the stage. It is a really great place to practice my talks skill in the public.

And I joined the event again on Tuesday night. They didn’t organise anything until they last minute they met each other in the event. But they made it much better than many well-organised events. All members present a good talk in front of around 50 people. And all of them didn’t know the topic until they stood on the stage. After that, we voted for the best speaker. And watch a girl to give a fabulous talk which was written by herself. What benefited for everyone who are not the members of the club was that everyone got the chance to give a talk twice in front of a group of people by table topics. Everyone can get the chance to practice their talks skills, rather than just for members. In the last session, they also called a number of audiences to get on the stage to give a talk in front of 50 people! And all the audiences gave a marvellous talk! Incredible!

It is a really intelligent club where you can learn many things from everyone. I will definitely join after I settle down in Melbourne!
