Simply Indian Hoppers Crossing

Not the experience I had hoped for. Key negatives from today's visit:

1. The Amritsari fish was not fresh and one could clearly smell the fishy smell associated with fish just about to go stale. It had clearly been in the freezer for a week and had definitely not been fried/made to order either. I'm quite certain it was fried earlier in the day and was simply microwaved and served to us. The batter was bland and very dry, another sign that it had not been fried at that time. I know how it should taste as I've had better Amritsari fish elsewhere and regularly make it at home as well.

2. The prices on their website don't match with the printed menu prices at the premises. The venue prices were higher which is misleading when you are planning on selecting a restaurant for dining.

3. Lastly, my family and I saw a mouse run across the restaurant floor and towards the kitchen. One of the male waiters tried to raise an alarm but another female waiter promptly hushed him so that other customers don't notice. So much for hygiene!

Key positives: Egg fried rice, noodles and chilli garlic chicken were good!

Sambar rice is one of the best, I had in Melbourne.

Purchased Chicken Biryani Family pack today from Simple India. After opening the pack noticed all chicken pieces in the biryani isn’t fully cooked and pink inside, called restaurant to inform but they gave me a unbelievable answer. I won’t recommend anyone to buy food from this restaurant.

Tried out "Simply Indian" restaurant for lunch and dinner, couple of items we tried were:
1. Chicken 65 biriyani- Tasted Great
2. Gongura Chicken Biriyani- Loved the Gongura flavour
3. Paani puri - Liked it
4. Chicken Lollipop - Hard and pretty average
5. Chilli Garlic Chicken Fried rice - Awesome and portion was more than enough.
6. Masala Mojitto- Do avoid this, as it was overdone and they spoiled the regular Jaljeera soda

Overall, loved this restaurant. Will visit again

Thr food is authentic! The quality and ingredients always stand up to the expectations. They do catering as well and it was well served. True to its name, its simply Indian.

Ample portions, ambience was refreshing and also the food was generally good. We ordered the mutton biryani in the combo with the chicken 65, the crispy lamb and the fried noodles. I thought the fried noodles was our crispy noodles with the info Chinese sauce like the chopsuey from back home, but yeah since wat I had in my head was different to what was on the table kinda a let down, but they did explain what it was. Will try the fried rice next time we are there. The biryani was a very satisfactory meal. The Lamb was good too.

Visited twice to this place. Ghongura goat is a must try. We recently went again and not a single dish was fresh. The fish smelled funny and even the chats very not good.

Delicious food! We had great food provided for our large party. Food was tasty, enough quantity provided, arranged the food at the party. Can't thank enough for a great hospitality.

Ordered haleem, quantity is too less for $15. Other restaurants serve at least 500ml container. Taste not so great either!

I've order from this store multiple times off ubereats and was excited to finally be able to dine in and to my disappointment the restaurant was filled with so many flies. The waiter mentioned just after we ordered food that if the flies were too much we are able to move tables and so we did only for our food to come out and there were flies surrounding us that we got put off our food that much we had to ask for takeaways. Food was good but with so many flies in the restaurant we couldn't enjoy our experience dinning in.

Hands down best Indian food I had in the recent times. Every dish was a hit! Also had a great collection of Indian beers to go with.

Worst telephone service I have experienced today while ordering on phone they are taking deposit on phone before they prepare the food. We have ordered 20 items and except biryani all other items are not at all tasty. Nauns they made were giving craker sounds and they were so hard to eat. The receptionist and person who are taking phone orders were rude and if we say something against them they insisting us to cancel the order rather listing to us. Overall my suggestion is not to order anything here except biryani.
