After dinner we came here for the night,
Heard of this “secret” bar for a long time, this is the very first time here, it was busy we have to wait a little, not too long, around 10mins.
The 2nd floor wasn’t open, we going to the rooftop right away, it was very busy for sure, and also dark, cant really read the menu properly. Also the smoking and non smoking area are way to close, doesn’t make a big different. But the view are pretty good. If you seat at the right spot.

I like this place It's been a while I told my friend that this place has good atmosphere and good service. But the service was really bad today. The man in the dress was too unkind. Why are you angry? He doesn't say a word when we ask for help. He only frowns. I'm so disappointed.

I don't get the hype. I'm sorry.

This place is rundown. What is going on? They aren't charging peanuts and yes this place has furniture that maybe came second hand from the circus. I suggested this place to a friend and was a little embarrassed.

Then the cigars. Good quality but why the inflated prices.

Good architectural views of parliament and princess theatre, good service, average value. Good destination if you enjoy cigar or cigarello.

Great unique experience. Cocktails are really good, and being able to smoke cigars on the terrace is a novelty. Very relaxed, friendly, European vibe with knowledgeable staff.

Note that you will be waiting in the queue for a while (it took us about 30 minutes to get in) and the place is not designed for groups.

Pretty much every negative review here is complaining about not being able to join or seat their group, but the place is really setup for couples, with lots of small tables. You can see why they wouldn’t be very happy admitting a group.

If you’re a couple looking for a night cap, I highly recommend!

Such a strange experience, and one I’ll never make the mistake of repeating. After waiting in line downstairs, my friends and I (group of 4) were let upstairs by the doorman. We got to the top and didn’t see anyone seating people or a sign saying “please wait to be seated”, so we saw an empty table and sat down. The last member of our party was stopped on the way in and an extremely rude server yells at him “how dare you seat yourselves” and when our friend suggested that the doorman told us we had a table available, he was told to “stop lying to them”. He was prevented from joining us, while another rude server comes up to the table we were sat at and says to one of the friends “hey you, come with me” without further explanation. He then proceeds to scold our friend about seating ourselves and said that the area we sat in was for parties of 8 (even though there were two similar spaces available and everyone in line was small groups, but ok?). Look, I get that some places might not want you to seat yourselves, but it’s literally so easy to put a sign saying “please wait to be seated” or have someone standing at the entrance to seat people. It’s also the way you deal with the situation, they easily could’ve come up and nicely explained that the table is reserved and we would’ve completely understood, but they handled it in the rudest way possible. The sheer audacity and contempt for customers by the wait staff was astounding. After this, they then left us to wait for a table in an empty side section, but we were just so turned off by the extremely rude and ridiculous service we simply walked out.

James is amazing! He is the best waiter we have had, very caring and honest. We were so lucky to have him on our one year anniversary. Thank you, James!

We are regulars at Siglo and CONNOR is an absolute legend! He is always very welcoming and never misses us while we come in. His cigar and cocktail recommendations are always on point. Highly recommend this venue. Thanks!

The drink menu is quite extensive but unfortunately some cigars were out of stock when we went, but atmosphere was great and staff were very friendly

One $20 gin and tonic for a work celebration and ready to settle in with a group of 10 before the doorman wouldn’t let us add an 11th person to the table at 5: 45pm. There were about 10 spare tables in the venue.

My friend asked me to come meet him at Siglo for a catch up and told me just tell the security my name at the door and they would let me in so I went at the door and told them my name I’m here to meet my friend Damien my name is Jen” the security said you have to be on the queue then I said my friend said just tell my name at the door he then asked me if I work there I said no. He asked again if I’m my friend’s workmate I just said yes so they would let me in cause it was pouring rain outside. The security called up on his radio and asked. As I listened to what he was saying he said he don’t understand me “her english is bad” And then I asked “My english is bad? ” And then I laughed. He apologized and he let me in. He know he was lying. Effin’ racist just because I’m asian. These security people needs to be trained properly on what to say to customers! Review for the place is cool. Staff are friendly and helpful but hard to call one. Drinks are smooth and good but pricey. Cigars are not bad but pricey too $100+ for 1 cigar. I heard you can bring your own cigar. Tip: bring your own cigar and lighter with you can smoke and just enjoy drinks here!

Siglo is a Melbourne institution and probably the best place to enjoy a cigar in a city where cigar bars have become few and far between. They have an excellent selection of cocktails, and the balcony provides lovely views of Parliament House and the neighbouring gardens.

What has always been a fantastic experience at a Melbourne institution has been ruined by management the last few times I have been here. They have odd rules about groups rocking up and stating that they must book (despite Siglo being walk-in only) and then when groups agreed to be separated and sit at separate tables, they do not allow this. Siglo are trying to maintain this fancy vibe but really are souring experiences of their customers again and again.

Always a favourite. Has to be one of THE best locations in the city, prized night aspect of Parliament one never tires of. Enjoyed Louis Roderer this time round, superb. Just wish they’d up the ante with snacks, with a twist of the old MSC perhaps? Don’t lose what you do!

We started out amazing here, beautiful view and atmosphere. Unfortunately one of the managers ruined our experience. We switched from one table to another to allow for our friends who were on their way and the manager spoke incredibly rudely to us. The night was redeemed to an incredible waiter Lochie. Overall love this place but the dark haired manager was so unprofessional and unpleasant

View 5 stars but that's where it ends sadly. Drinks 3 stars max (definitely overpriced for the quality, nothing special and felt watered down).
Giving 1 overall because of the host tonight, I'd give minus stars if upto me. Rude, arrogant, unwelcoming and basically ruined such a lovely venue for us.
He wasn't at the entrance nor was anyone else at the time (which is fine), so we walked in as the place wasn't busy and there were quite a few empty tables (weren't sure if we were to wait to be seated, our fault). As we were grabbing a table, he came up and arrogantly went: "yes, what? "
We apologised and said, sorry we weren't sure where to go as there was noone at the entrance. And he rudely goes, " i was at a table, can't be standing there all the time". I'm surprised he is even a host at such a beautiful venue. Proceeds to direct us to another table without so much a smile.
I get it. We walked in to your precious venue without "your approval" but that is no way to treat your guests, especially when there was no rush or people waiting to be seated and quite a few empty tables.
I was so embarrassed. I had brought one of my friends who was visiting from Sydney and had heard so many good things about this place. A beautiful afternoon turned sour because a host couldn't bear to leave his arrogance off his face.
If only he had said, hi, have you checked in with a staff for the table? Is it ok if we move you to another table? And shown a shred of politeness in his tone, I'd be writing a much different review right now.
The waitstaff were lovely and drinks were ok.

Hope the owners take note and train their hosts to be hospitable to ALL guests.

I have been contemplating this review since last Thursday (8 Sep) when we tried to go to Siglo but were denied entry by the door person/ security guard. We had been out at dinner with friends and 3 of us decided to have a night cap before heading home. We made our way up the stairs to be greeted (I use that term lightly) by the door person. When we reached him he looked me up and down and immediately said “How many drinks have you had? ”. I was by no means even slightly intoxicated, having shared 2 bottles of wine between 4 people over a 3 hour dinner. I responded “Oh, we shared a couple of bottles of wine over dinner”. He then looked at my partner, who happens to work in healthcare and had been working since 6am that morning, and said “Well you’re not coming in, he’s drunk”. I was very shocked and said “Excuse me? My fiancé. He has barely had anything to drink”. The rude door man then responded with a sarcastic tone “Yeah not tonight”. I was blown away. This door man, who hadn’t even spoken to my partner, who happened to be standing on the stairs 2 metres away, made an assessment within 5 seconds of seeing my partner without even saying a word to him. I believe the real reason we were refused entry was because my partner is Asian! We left stunned and went downstairs to the Wine Bar without an issue.

We have been to the Siglo on numerous occasions and we often bring out of town friends and family to experience the venue because it’s usually so fantastic. I don’t know if it’s a new security company they are using, or a new hire, but the experience we had with the door man has left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I don’t think we will be returning to Siglo again. Perhaps some diversity training, customer service, and proper staff would entice us back, but we won’t be returning anytime soon and will spend our money elsewhere.

Not good enough Siglo.

We went with a group of friends on Friday night 5/aug and when walking upstairs the door man was simply unprofessional & impolite telling her that she wasn't in his list in a derogatory glanze and disdainful voice when we have booked a table previously, at the same time letting other people get in. I felt humiliated and discriminated

I don't recommend anyone this venue with this person at the door you will be negatively surprised.

Great view, good ambiance and friendly staff. However ordered two cocktails from their menu and they were undrinkable and at over $30 each (including sercharge) is well above the average of the CBD

Siglo is a popular bar which often has a line out the front. They also serve cigars (because they allow smoking in 90% of their space) if you dislike the smell of smoke find somewhere else. Waiting for entry is also common but the staff are polite and accommodating and from my experience so are the security.
