78Incredible doesn’t begin to describe it. I was quite hesitant at first as ramen is pretty hit and miss. However I can safely say that it was such a perfect bowl of ramen and I recommend the Sake to go with it!
Shoyu with pork belly was delicious, then the added chili and garlic "bomb" made it all the better. Noodles were great. Would dine again.
It is a short and focused menu, but the food is real tasty. I tried the belly pork bun and the Kimchee ramen, and wooow! An explosion of flavour. The meat was so tender it melted in my mouth. Prices are also on the affordable side. The place is really trendy and usually crowded. Space is an issue. I was made to move from my table just to make space for a party of 8.
Great ramen, cold beer, staff was awesome, good to see it absolutely rammed with customers. Had an awesome meal, first ramen post-covid! Thanks kids!
Super tasty ramen! My first time here i wasnt expecting how popular it was!
there is no bookings and so you need to put your name down on a list upon arrival!
TIP: despite the wait time, i suggest you stick around and wait as theyll call you up early if the groups before you havnt returned early for their timeslot! (dw, they call out these names again later at their slotted time)
the shoyu broth was nice and light and super tasty! The ramen noodles were made perfect! Not too soft and not too hard
the tantanmen had a rich creamy broth which was a delight!
i asked for extra chilli but still wasn't very spicy
definitely a ramen spot to return to!
Best ramen in Melbourne. Small menu, but that's how you know that each item will be perfect. We had the shoyu and the shio ramen. Definitely a must visit!
Won't sllit bills, I don't see what the problem is. Food was tasty and plentiful, came out soon after we order it also, so it was good for a quick bite.
Delicious ramen, I love the free range chicken and beef brisket Bao is super!
A weekly visit for sure. Great service from friendly staff always.
It's definitely worth the wait for a table.
The shop was very cosy. The communal table, at first I thought was too closely bunched, but it works fine. They have heaps of variety and food choices. The prices are not bad either. Friends warned me that's it's always packed, but with good food and great service, that's always a given. Will definitely be a return customer.
Broth was very delicious but pork wasn't tender enough. A bit hard to chew. Otherwise I'd give 5 stars.
On a street with plenty of food options, Shop Ramen is a stayer.
When I moved interstate in 2013, I was a little sad to leave behind my new find. Six years later I’m back, house- sitting for a month and making up for lost time.
Over the month I work my way through all the ramen and all were very good. Pork Belly and Tofu my faves, then the Chicken followed by the beef.
The shop itself is a very pleasant place to slurp your way through a bowl, (I usually can’t stand communal tables but this one just felt.good).
One to keep in mind If hungry on Smith Street. Recommend.
I had ramen with pork which was really good, but the portion of meat was too small. I have enjoyed It anyway, hope next time it will be more satisfying!
Decent Ramen. Not the best ones I've had though. If you're around town and craving some Ramen this will adequately do you Justice.
Great food, poor customer service. Lady was very rude when we asked to split the bill, pointed at the policy and asked me 'do you have a problem? '. Could have dealt with it politely but instead a sour end to a nice meal.
Amazing ramen, the front of the shop and the staff are very atypical for a Japanese place.surpised the food was soooooo good. But it was
Really good ramen! We've tried the spicy one: tan tan men and the original one: pork belly. The spicy is more creamy and spicy whereas the pork belly is tasty. Both are really good! Thanks again!
One of the best pork belly shoyu ramens I have had. A bit expensive for ramen but you get enough meat to be satisfied. Everything was great, from the egg which had egg white nicely gelled to the great tasting fat on the pork belly to the veggies. Will definitely come back and try the BBQ Chicken miso ramen.
Great value Ramen. Not the most authentic flavour broth but the noodles taste quality. Great environment and drinks on offer. Very much a note intimate environment.
Unique Ramen with the fast service. Value prices. The milk shakes are amazing and I highly recommend you try them. I'd upload photos but the food was too tasty to resist.
Went to check it out as it’s always packed! Now I know why! It may not be ‘the real deal’ as someone said but they offer great ramen with a twist! Loved the yuzu cocktail as well.
