Shiraaz Innovative Indian Restaurant reviews
71Great night out, lovely experience and incredible menu. Are with a vegetarian friend and the options were great, and delicious
We went to Shiraaz as a family of 6. As a vegan, Indian food is often my go to and restaurants always have a lot of options, that is except for this restaurant. 2 options (no entree and no dessert). I ordered the potato and chickpea that arrived with zero potato and even though I’d asked for very mild, it was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. 3 other family members tasted it and all said it was too spicy (even though they enjoy spicy food). The lovely waitress returned the food to the kitchen and when it came back to the table it had 3 small pieces of potato and no change to the spice level. I suspect the potato was added to the original dish. So I ended up with no meal while everyone else ate theirs. SO disappointing! The chef needs to listen and cook to people’s needs. Assuming the meals are cooked fresh, that shouldn’t be a problem. I also think it’s unreasonable that I still had to pay for my meal even though I ate nothing due to the kitchen’s inability to cook to taste. I notice that the food being too spicy is mentioned in other reviews which is interesting. It’s a shame the chef and restaurant are not paying attention to these reviews.
Our family all live in Geelong and all now have a disappointed view.
The wait staff were lovely and did their best to help but if the kitchen isn’t helpful, what can they do! The star is for the staff!
Delicous butter chicken and coconut rice! Prompt service. Really glad that we saw this place advertised at readings cinema.
Loved the lamb vindaloo. So flavourful. Glad we noticed the ad in the cinema so good idea on advertising!
The restaurant itself was very nice. Decor and art was very nice. Firstly the prices were quite higher than other restaurants. For eg.kids butter chicken with rice and nann bread was $30. The nann and rice were nice, but the butter chicken did not taste how we think butter chicken should taste. It was a very neon orange and tasted very smokey. If you like smokey stuff you might like it. The chicken was also breast meat, which we believe it should have been thigh meat. The staff were a bit goofy with prioritising. After taking our order, they decided to ponder around and prepare other stuff before getting our 2 drinks which would have taken 2 min.
Since moving to Melbourne 13 yrs ago we haven’t found a great Indian Restaurant. Now our search is over. Absolutely amazing food. Had samosa, butter chicken, lamb korma, fried rice, garlic, butter & cheese naan. Cannot fault any of it. Delivery was great. On time and lovely delivery driver. Thanks for the best Indian meal
Nice restaurant, with a good menu and classic Indian food. The atmosphere was good, the service kind.
This place is awesome. Being an Indian myself, i was very impressed with food both quality and quantity. Nice Bar too.
Staff and Service is excellent, specially Rajveer, Anmol and Navneet. Both are greatpolite and very well spoken. I would highly recommend this place.
The meal was as good as I have had In any Australian restaurant and I will be going back for many more meals
Absolutely delicious! We have been to this restaurant so many times, and every time it’s amazing. It’s our favourite, authentic Indian cuisine. Every item on the menu is wonderful but my personal favourites are samosas, Paneer Manchurian, butter chicken, lamb korma and can’t forget the naan! We leave with very happy tummies every time.
Great service and delicious food, generous serving and wonderful host, thanks for looking after us.
6 of us spent the day in Geelong coming over on the Port Phillip Ferry. We ended the day with a sumptuous dinner, fine dining, and Barossa Shiraz bottle at the restaurant well looked after by Tanushree (Faar Changla!) and the team. The Thalis and ala carte dishes were delicious, khulcha naan was a treat, service was prompt and all smiling in the team. We even managed to take home what was not finished, which is sustainable eating!
Thanks, value for and highly recommended
Fantastic food and huge variety of wines which goes perfect with their food. Highly recommended. Thanks for lovely hospitality.
Ordered mild entree’s but we got spicy entree’s. Chicken balti (In Mains) was full of potatoes with just 2/3 pieces of chicken in it. Received partially cooked butter naan, upon complaining for that we got tandoori roti instead of butter naan in exchange. When we explained everything to Manager, there’s wasn’t any satisfied explanation N on top of it there was no apology for that. Manager just put discount on the whole bill amount N that’s it.
No particular apology or explanation.
Pretty worse experience.
Overall a great place to come for an authentic Indian cuisine. The garlic naan was great, very flavoursome. The Rogan Josh, both lamb and beef was good although very spicy and the beef was slightly tough. The honey chicken was very very sweet, but was nice and crispy. Moreover the butter chicken was delicious! Perfect amount of spice and flavour. The place is a little dark but near the window was lovely. The staff were very attentive and respectful. Thanks for the great experience.
I have visited this restaurant yesterday evening for Dinner with my family but the food was really bad as we ordered entree first which was full tandoori chicken. When it came, super dry. Chicken was undercooked as it’s taste was completely weird.
We preferred to have our dinner from different restaurant after getting unfriendly service from Shiraaz restaurant.
Would never recommend this restaurant.
Nothing like customer service, no smile or any courtesy. Seems like they were working just for the sake of it. Food was very average compare to other restaurants with half the price. Good luck.
My partner and I, who are having a short getaway in Geelong, didn’t have many options for dinner due to the public holiday, but luckily walked past Shiraaz and were able to be seated. Although the menu had numerous options, I opted for one of my faves, butter chicken. It was really yummy and the flavours were very balanced, along with rice and garlic cheese naan. Service was swift and waiters were kind and on the ball.
What can I say, today is Xmas eve I spent 200 plus dollar on food and money wasted
It was absolutely disaster.kids complaint about food being off and so strong in flavour
Fish was no taste, daal makhani was served as yellow daal and felt like a kadi
Panner felt like all the spices chucked in one go
Thick gravy
So sad to say that no one cares about food anymore and thinks customer is stupid and serve them whatever
. No one should go to this restaurant, they don’t deserve customer
Ordered off uber eats, waited over an hour for delivery then the restaurant cancelled our order, won't ever bother ordering from there again. Disgraceful.
