Shillinglaw Cafe

Absolutely wonderful hospitality and grazing menu for our staff Christmas party. Service was truly outstanding, and the food simply incredible! We absolutely loved the variety of delicious dishes and how well the team catered for people with special diets. The space was also divine—just lovely under the tree with the beautiful table setting (and an incredible cheese board!). All of the arrangements were done perfectly. We had the best day!

Nice place to eat at. I would like to see a more varied menu though (I've been in Eltham for years and the menu hasn't changed much). Maybe offer a specials menu. The food did take a while to come but they were busy.

Saw the owner/boss (old short guy) yell at a staff member a while back. Shame such a remarkable heritage site is wasted on those vacuous people

This cafe is in a lovely setting with beautiful birds flying around while you sip your coffee, the girls on the floor are super kind and down to earth

Website said closed at 4pm, we called and voice message said closed at 3pm. Since no one picked up phone we family went there and they said closed at 2pm. 2 times get disappointed. Poor management and please update your correct time! Misleading!

We have been to Shillinglaw a number of times, most recently for mothers day lunch. The venue is really quaint. Set in an old house, most of the seating is outside with a fantastic children's play area. The food is delicious cafe food and the coffee is really nice. Great selection of dishes for all day breakfast and lunch. The venue is licensed. We will be back for sure.

Beautiful garden Cafe, fabulous coffee, beat breakfast roll ever. Yummy cookie/donut. GREAT blue heaven. Fabulous decorations. Adorable birds.

I've been here a couple of times over the last month or so for brekkie/brunch and the food has been great on both occasions, with service to match. The outdoor area is great for families with kids. Bonus points for being able to bring your pup along.

Just love this place. Sheltered outdoor seating, lovely views of trees and gardens, the staff are friendly, the chai is perfect, and if you're lucky a local bird will come and visit your table. Fenced garden and sandpit for kids, playground on the doorstep. Make time for a walk by the river after you come here.

We had our son's memorial at Shillinglaw Cafe and it could not have been more perfect. The cafe and outside area is just beautiful but also the service, the amazing food to the ease of organising such an event was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so very much to the whole team. Highly recommended at any time.

Lovely atmosphere, plenty of play space for the kids.service was friendly and helpful (it's table service), but slow, so order early, especially in a big group. Loved the burger and the french toast. There are steps inside so need to use the side gate behind the cafe to bring the prams through, but there is also a cafe blind in the way, which can get pretty annoying. Parking can be a bit limited and 2hours only at the front there.

Had lunch yesterday at Shillinglaw Cafe, the food was so fresh and delicious. It was affordable and the atmosphere was fantastic. There is an out door eating area that has the most relaxing ambiance. Ps it's a seat yourself kind of place so you choose where to sit.

Ambience is good with garden side sitting under the trees. Small play area for kids so that parents can spent some quite time. Sitting arrangements are nice and follow 4sqm rule in terms of gaps. Eltham park along with Eltham Sunday market can be enjoyed every 3rd weekend of the month.

Beautiful surroundings. Beautiful staff. Food is Amazing. I tried a coffee and did not like it. Just not to my taste. They made me a Late and gave me back my money for the drink l didn't like. So so generous of them.

Nice place, great environment, the best eggs Benedict I've had in a long while. I'll be back for more.

Exceptionally good food and lovely (very tolerant) service. We went with our mother group and they were incredibly accommodating. They don't split bills though.

I've had a couple of meals here and they are always super yummy and the coffee was also great. The owners are lovely and it's a great place to hold a function.

Lovely setting outside under the 100 year old pale tree. My 2 year old loved the garden setting. Food was great too.

An absolute delight, sitting outside under an ancient oak tree. Clever and beautifully presented food and drink at reasonable prices.
