Shelter Shed reviews
34Fantastic breakfast! The French toast and chilli scrambles were the best we have had. Also visited for dinner and was just was good. Scotch fillet char grilled to perfection!
Food is horrible and overpriced compared to the quality of food quality and service! I'll never go back to this place ever again!
Although our waiter was lovely the quality of food and atmosphere were not up to par. Tuna steaks were still half frozen and veggies were something my 3 legged cat could produce with a packet of matches and a saucepan. Beware. Overpriced frozen food. Not worth the visit
A very pleasant location for coffee & cake.
Will be returning asap to try the lunch & dinner items on the menu.
Absolutely lovely service and beautiful ambiance. Delicious coffee too. I recommend if you like quite cafes/restaurants, it’s not too noisy but still has atmosphere.
Delicious house made pasta paired with Tim Adam’s Pinot Gris. Excellent service and great atmosphere, one of Queenscliff’s finest eateries.
The Shelter Shed has become our favourite restaurant when visiting Queenscliff and surrounding areas. Chef’s food is always delicious and comforting. Service is excellent, attentive and welcoming.
Somewhat a standard for dining in Queenscliff, the Shelter Shed offers a diverse range of starters, mains and desserts. The standout dishes for us were the grilled calamari, radicchio, pomegranate withy ruby grapefruit aioli, and the duck, pork and sour cherry terrine, cornichons, cranberry chutney and grilled sourdough (a dish we love and have had on previous occasions).
The drinks list is substantial and with a large local presence. We chose a special on the list - Antonio Camillo Ciliegiolo Maremma Toscana 2018 - light-bodied, ripe and sunny on the palate with vibrant flavors of black cherries, tart dark plums, some earthy spice, a little bit of raspberry marmalade, light tart notes of lingonberries and a hint of strawberry jam.
The staff are friendly and the service is professional.
Fantastic hospitality - highly recommended. Great food and wine plus service from Billy too. Open fire on cold days is a treat.
Unfortunately access for people with disability is challenging in an older space - please check first.
Some of the best food I've had in a very long time! The food was fresh and prepared with care and detail. The homely feel inside and the excellent staff made the experience just that little bit awesome.
Roughly $40 for a main meal + $15 a plate for sides. Food was cooked, presented nicely, but no very much flavours. Food took a long time to cook and deserts took a while. Cakes were small sizes for $15 each. The waiters were very informal. Nice outdoor seating garden area.
Absolutely delicious meals, not one thing on the menu I wouldn't order again, and sticky date pudding to die for. Thankyou very much for a lovely lunch. We will return
Would highly recommend. Service great, food excellent. Gorgeous courtyard to dine in. Courtyard is also dog friendly which is a real bonus. A must visit.
We Love visiting your little place, never disappoints.
Staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive.
Doesn’t matter when we visit, it is always lovely & refreshing.
Coffee, food is always great.
Always fantastic! The food is terrific. We had the steak and ribs - the ribs completely fall off the bone. The service is also fantastic, very knowledgeable and attentive. We always stop by for dinner when in town, and recommend you do too!
Always found Shelter Shed to have consistently provided great hospitality and quality food and beverages. Pet friendly and one of the better offerings in Queenscliff. Comparatively good value. Opening hours a bit inconsistent, but hey, there’s a thing called COVID.
My partner and I had a wonderful lunch here with our 5 month old baby and doggy in the back garden/courtyard area. It was beautiful weather, and so relaxing, the food was delicious and the service was very attentive and at a relaxed pace. We found the owner and staff to be extremely accomodating, we will return again for sure. We love our local area.
Inside is quite cozy and outside garden area has a great atmosphere! Good sized menu with tempting and such delicious range of food. Thank you for putting the portable heater on for me!
Had a nice coffee here along with a choice of cakes. There is a good size outdoors area that is child friendly.
