I have been a long time customer of Shanika's in Berwick and have loved the authentic Italian cuisine. I was looking forward to having this Shanika's closer to me.
I was disappointed
The table we were on was right in line with the door and every time it opened we got this freezing draft.
The food wasn't as great as I was used to from Berwick. Then.dessert was served, lemon tarts with meringue. There was no meringues! Instead of taking our dishes back to the kitchen, we waited whilst they cooked the meringues and delivered to our table and left for us to put on the tarts ourselves
Not enough veggie options

A great place to take customers, you must try the Breaky bruschetta, or the Southern Style Chicken.

The best homemade Italian food I have had for a long time. Service was fantastic. Cannot fault.

Friendly staff and food quality are not bad. The fried calamari and casear salad are very nice.

Awesome food, no waiting time. Food was cooked and perfectly spiced. Not to salty not to bland. Just a perfect night.

Even though we were a large group we had fantastic service and food arrived together. The food was great and served hot. Great atmosphere. Very happy and we all said we would return. Highly recommend.

I got some lunch from Shanikas and I really enjoyed it. I will go back again. Hopefully I will get another chance to give them another star.

Awesome food, dining, one of the most tasty foods i have eaten in a long time. Waiters are very nice and chef is also very hardworking towards making the experience and food taste amazing.

We haven't eaten here for years, but the food was well presented and cooked, staff very attentive. The only problem for me was if the place was full of patrons, it would be really noisy, but late lunch time was fine. Their coffee is really good too.

The best fine dining restaurant in the area. Love the vibes and gourmet meals. Super friendly staff and excellent service. Our favourite girl is Cara with a beautiful smile and warm attentive mannerisms to make sure our dining experience is pleasant.

It was busy. Staff were lovely and did well. I found it interesting that both items on the specials board were not available.

Fantastic meal and excellent service at a company Christmas lunch. One of the best Italian meals I've had in Australia!

Always a great experience and handy for business meetings/catch-ups. Good food and friendly staff.

We had our work Xmas party here, to be quite honest, I never knew this venue existed. To my surprise, the food isn’t bad and the staff were even better.

Great little menu, they do lunch and dinner so do try to make a date night out of it. The highlight of the menu is the steak, try it cooked blue-rare, if you dare.

Would visit again outside of work hours.

Nice place, nice food, nice atmosphere, enjoyed it. Just too many interruptions asking if all was ok in the middle of conversation.

Myself and my wife along with our nearly 5 year old Daughter just had the best meal ever. Our porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection and the salad had just the right amount of zest. We were all made to feel welcome by Carra the moment we entered. Her service was very professional and swift and her happy mannerism and big smile made us feel at home and relaxed. Shanikas is extremely clean and modern with a great atmosphere with quality service and food at a fair price and a menu that covers all bases. We will be back from now on. Thankyou Shanikas and thankyou Carra.

Service was sporadic. Must rely heavily on regular customer base, as you could see the difference in how much attention different tables received.

Ordered drinks, very good prices.

Entrees were hit or miss. Garlic bread was overly salty. Char-grilled Cuttlefish was really good, I mean really good.

Chicken risotto was all-round okay. Really basic plating. Saffron risotto was well textured but the chicken was overcooked. Needs more of the jus.
Veal tortelloni was very disappointing. Veal was very small and tough. Pasta overcooked. Sauce was salty (almost inedible) with no evidence of mushroom anywhere in the mushroom sauce.

Had henessy as a digestif but was served at room temperature in a cold glass, pretty disappointing.

Dessert was pretty good. Lemon curd had a whole lot of lemon zest, quite punchy. Meringue was crisp. Brownie was well cooked. Sour Cherry sauce was delicious.

Would give 3.5 stars if possible. Would go back again.

Very very disappointed with this place will never go here again or recommend This place I was so excited to go here tonight we ordered our meals and had to wait 35 minutes for our entree to arrive and when it finally arrived it was the wrong thing and then was made to wait even longer for my bruschetta to arrive then wait even longer for our mains to come so not happy ruined my night thank you!
