Recommend this unassuming but great Chinese seafood restaurant located in the heart of the Russell Street entertainment area. Love the XO sauce lobster and abalone dishes (prepared all three ways). You should pick your preferred seafood friends from the live tanks where the staff will weigh your catch and prepare them according to your requests. Seafood always fresh and cooked to deliciousness!

The boss's service attitude was terrible, and there was a guy named Jinyang who used foul language. Next time you will pay more than me.

The old man with glasses is very very rude. We finished the food and started talking. We didn't bother anyone. The old man urged us to leave but there were no customers behind. Is this how Hong Kong people treat their guests? Please pay attention to your words and deeds.

Went into the restaurant with a 3 year old and a pram, to see a selection of sea mammals and then come in as a family. We were kicked out and told to look outside.
I didn't know that this restaurant was only for Asians. Sorry, we won't be coming back again.

Great place if you love sea food. Other items on the menu was average. Paid parking near by, free on street parking not worth fighting for. Worth a visit.

Don’t understand the minimum $20 spend per head rule.
We are a group of 6 adults and 1 kid. We ordered some seafood and 4 regular dishes. The staff telling us it’s not enough food, ask if we need to order more. They try to make each person to order 1 dish. So pushy, makes us uncomfortable.
Agree with the other comments, this place is not running their business the right way and should be reported to council.

Best Cantonese late night seafood comfort food around! We’ve tried quite a few dishes and all but one are nothing short of excellent. Don’t bother with the seafood tofu clay pot. Other than their signature dishes (which are all awesome), a must try is the tiger prawns vermicelli clay pot. So so good! Seafood is always fresh and cooked really well.

Service is prompt and staff are ok! The premise is pretty clean. As good as you can expect from restaurants of this genre. We will always come back for more.

This is my first time visiting this restaurant with my interstate friend whom likes seafood. The seafood is fresh and it tastes okay.

However, this would be our last time visiting this place and I will never ever recommend any of my friends to visit this restaurant. I understand when the restaurant is packed, they would generally expect its customer to leave early. BUT you dont put down the receipt on the table and started to clear our dishes away when we still eating. The exact words I received from the very rude waiter was "If the restaurant allows everyone to sit a bit longer and have less customers, then we might as well close it up and not operate".

Very unprofessional, rude and unfriendly service.

They open at 5pm and we came before 5pm and they're very welcoming us. They allowed us to came in and sit first even before they ready. We ordered lobster with noodle, pipih with chinese donut and stir fry chinese broccoli and they were absolutely superb. All the food are very fresh and delicious. The restaurant is not that big though. Very recommended for fresh seafood.

Poor service, Selling crabs and lobsters to customers, I don't want to eat those, the service attitude is very poor, the plate is thrown on the table.

Ignore old reviews! This restaurant was previously Shanghai Street. Make sure to disregard the old reviews, menu and food photos as this is no longer the same restaurant. I was confused as it wasn't what I was expecting but tried the food nevertheless. Food is average and good portion size but I wouldn't go back.

Have been hanging out for a decent chilli mud crab for a few years now and after snooping around Chinatown for a couple of hours we found this absolute gem! Apart from the best price in town the chilli sauce / gravy was to die for! Great value in this busy small restaurant - only other dish we had was a Singapore noodle dish which was on the small size and less value. Asked to leave as soon as we had the last mouthful but this was expected as many others were waiting to get in.byo is also a bonus. We had a lovely guy serving us but boss lady not overly friendly (but usually the norm). Will be back for another great feed of fresh seafood which is the speciality of this place - heaps of live seafood in the tanks out front to choose from.

We just went to dine in with 5 people late at night, however only 3 of us were eating. We assumed this was fine as no on said anything. They kept trying to push us to order more even though we constantly told them we did not want to. After we clarified again that we were not going to order any more they said that the minimum was $20 per head. No one had told us this at the start or when we sat down and there were no signs or anything at the restaurant. They then tried to say it was on the menu, all the waiters tried to find it on the menu and it wasn't there. Then when we got up to pay, the boss at the cashier was angry and said the waiter that served us had to pay the difference out of her pay. How cruel! If you are trying to charge a minimum per head this has to be written on your front door or on the menu. It wasn't mentioned to us once, and the lady thought we couldn't understand Chinese and was talking bad about us to the wait staff. We feel sorry for the waiter that served us as the boss was yelling at her and she's probably already getting paid below minimum wage. Extremely bad service and we can't believe we experienced this! Justice for the wait staff as the boss is obviously a manipulative and treats her staff with absolutely no respect.

Very fresh spicy pippies (clams), followed by beautifully tender and nicely cooked barramundi fresh from the tank. Not cheap but very reasonable for the quality. Average service and basic decor - but go for the seafood! Recommended

This place re-opened as Chinese restaurant specialising in fresh seafood! The venue is quite small and cramped, and the front is filled with tanks full of love seafood. You can choose which seafoods you want from the tank and how you want them cooked.

Highly recommend their live snow crab and live lobster - we got the crab cooked in salt and pepper style and lobster with ginger and scallion with noodles. Both were super delicious! We also got a live fish steamed which was incredible.

Their XO pipis with Chinese doughnuts are also a must too (very similar to Ling Nan).

Service is super quick and no-fuss. Definitely come with a big group so you can try more dishes!

I have just had my Christmas Eve dinner with my family there. Wonderful place! Fresh seafood and reasonable price. Highly recommend spring onions and ginger lobster with noodles. That’s the must try. Xo sauce Pipi is excellent too, you must order extra Chinese donuts, that is the soul of this dish. We also ordered the other 7 dishes and they are all fresh and tasty. One of the best cantonese seafood restaurants. Do not miss it.

If it had to left one star to have permission to rate this restaurant but I won’t left any star of this awful restaurant! I ordered beef buns and fired dumplings and they all very hard to eat and they were overly cooked. I had very bad experience with the restaurant!

This place in my opinion very closely resemble Ling Nam (have closed down). The dishes and the flavour are almost identical. The XO pipis are tasty, with a hint of spice and generous in size. The fish were fresh and the accompanying soy sauce was on point.
