Shanghai dragon dumpling house

This place is OK. Nothing is terrible, nor standout to make me want to rush back. Simple interior with OK service. Dumplings (soup dumplings, pan fried pork dumplings and pork dumplings in chilli oil) came out quick but we also ordered fried rice which still hadn't arrived by the time we finished the dumplings. We were full enough so cancelled the item with no issues as they hadn't even started cooking it. The table chilli oil and vinegar was great as a dipping sauce for the dumplings.

The food was pretty good. The stainless hot water bottle didn’t appear to be clean (see photo). No music in the restaurant. Would’ve added some atmosphere if there was music. Stains on the tea cups were quite obvious.

Shao long bao, spring onion cake, beans with pork and chilli, drunken chicken (a must for anyone who has not tried it before), pan-fried mini pork dumplings (larger than expected) really good. Great value.

Love this place for a no frills dumpling place. The aunties are making them fresh in the back and have all the classic go to things. Any white daniel or Ryan commenting on the service can cry me a river. From a Chinese person this place is great

My crab & pork Xiao long bao had tiny crab shells, and dry texture. I couldn't finish my mini wonton soup since it was so bland.

No frills dumpling place with reasonable prices and generous sizes. I’ve tried the peanut chili oil dumplings a few times and they are consistently super tasty and very filling! For takeaway, I’ve had to wait ~10 minutes or so each time, so would not recommend if you are in a rush.

Went here for an afternoon snack on a Monday so there were still a few tables available. Cheap prices for a good meal.

Xiao Long Bao is really tasty and juicy! I wish there was more soup inside though. The Mini Wonton Soup was good as well.

I also liked their chili sauce. It wasn’t too spicy and there is a bit of crunch in it. The staff aren’t very accommodating but that’s typical in most of the Chinese restaurants we’ve been to.

I love eating here. Every visit to Melbourne i make sure i get here for my fill of dumplings. We had pork dumplings in chili oil soup and sweet sour chicken; rate them both pretty high. Dumplings are big sized. Good sized meals. I have always found the staff friendly.

Came here when the place not full, then ordered food. 4 Western guys come in well after we ordered our food. Then 1st food come, no rice. I was being patient.and did not ask for the rice. Then, when the 2nd meal arrives 10mnts later, I ask for our 3 bowl of rice. The waiter just said yes and stand in front of the cash register n talk. Have to ask the 2nd time before one of them went to the kitchen to ask and come out without the rice. I ask for the 3rd time as our meals getting cold. As we are eating, we realised the Westerners in front of us got all of their food first while we are waiting for other 2 meals, as well as 2 Westerners on my right hand side that came after those 4. We were made to wait for our Shanghai Noodle after we ask, while those people that come later with the same food has eaten, laughing and left. We also hv 2 kids with us and my 5yrs old was upset as she is the one that wants to eat the noodle. Why do you do this to fellow Asians and lower yourself like that? It is beyond my rational mind.

Great bang for buck and our order was simply delicious! Had the traditional pork dumplings and Shanghai noodles. Service was prompt and polite. Would definitely recommend and return!

Looking for dumplings in the city and found this place. Quick, friendly service and tasty dumplings!

Nice meal. The pork was a bit over priced for what we got. Chilli Oill Dumplings we're excellent

Food is only okay but that’s fine. What disgusts me is they have no moral and bully customer. When my husband went to pay the bill, the waitress charged the wrong table to us and then her manager also realised that and then she speak in Chinese to the waitress “don’t tell him” coz he thought my husband does not understand Chinese. Have some moral before you do business. Will definitely not go to this place. Photo showed the waitress who charged wrongly but her manager was the one that shall be ashamed!

I used to get pan fried buns almost every other weekend when it was priced at 9.8 they were GREAT, later on went up to 11.5 which was okish. Today I got charged 14 dollars for 6 buns.sorry not what it used to be, not worth it

I heard a lot about their dumplings and decided to try, Definitely a good xiao long bao, but the fried bun wasn't that good.

This is a small reataurant in the Chinatown area. The Xiao Long Pau and Pork, Prawn and Mushroom Soup was nice. The Roast Pork Buns were ok, just a bit dry to my liking. Prices here are very reasonable. Will come back again to try the other dishes.

Solid filling dumplings. Affordable dumplings that are a great option. Service was nice and quick.

Was quite surprised by this rating. I gave this place a try and realised that it was definitely a hidden gem! The shanghai pan fried pork buns and pork soup dumplings are definitely really good - not like super high quality but very delicious and quite authentic. And the food came out quick also despite the place being busy. Highly recommend others to visit this place

Not too bad, good customer service was greeted when sat down at a table and lady gave me a menu that was nice, food is okay it will filled you up you won’t get hungry again.
