Shalimar Indian Restaurant reviews
37Great curry house that has been operating from the same space for decades. The staff are always courteous and the dishes are delicious. They are happy to accomodate your taste so you can enjoy your dinner and re very generous with the serves.
Very attentive service, food was really good, maybe not great but good. We would return and considering my wife is part Indian that is a complement.
Food and service was good. First time I've dined there and looking forward to trying more dishes
Excellent food, hospitality and ambiance. Definitely going to come back again.
Highly recommended.
Nice decor good ambience, reasonable size dishes, byo wine only. Reasonable prices. But same as you would find in any Indian restaurant, nothing different.
Excellent service and impressive Indian food!
I have been to this wonderful restaurant twice recently and have had great food on both occasions, I asked the charming manager for his recommendation and the chicken was cooked perfectly with a well balanced heat in the curry sauce.
If you're an expat then they will make the curry even hotter if you crave some heat.
We also had a 6 month old guide dog puppy with us and they made him feel safe and very welcome.
Poor service, didn’t put through a cancellation after re-booking from Groupon and claimed the voucher had been redeemed 2 days after the cancellation. The fault was on their end and they did nothing to make up for it. Just told us they couldn’t do it and to ring groupon.
Bought a Groupon voucher worth of $39 and they gave $20 worth of food. Food is not good and tasteless had to throw up after coming home. Avoid this place.
Went there on a Thursday evening. Wasn't too busy. The ambience was elegant and inviting. Gagan attended us and was a very graceful host in recommending the chefs specials. We enjoyed the palak chicken and the burra kebabs. These guys serve the kind of food that doesn't make you feel heavy afterwards. Something which is almost accepted as common in most Indian restaurants in Australia. The food here is light on the tummy and excellent for the taste buds. Highly recommended to all. Keep it up guys.
First of all, i had to call out to the kitchen as there was no-one to greet me, this took over 5 mins to finally get service. I assume it was the owner of the restaurant that came out.
Secondly come to pay for the meal the owner didn't even know how to use EFTpos to pay for my meal, she had to ring someone and she was doing this all over the phone,
Disgraceful service
Thought worth a try. Service very slow, cold, and by far the poorest Indian I've eaten in australia- Main course was tasteless and poor quality chicken. Wont be trying again.
Have been several times in the past year and the food is always some of the best Indian I've had anywhere. The guys always treat you like you're their most important customer. Can't wait till get back there again soon.
Went here for the first time last night & it was absolutely delicious! The Burra kebab was divine & the Goat Curry was a stand out. Every table was occupied & the service was still great. Will definitely be back.
This is my family's favourite Indian restaurant. We go there regularly and have never been disappointed. It's good value and the staff are very friendly. The decor is a little dim and dingy but it's quite authentic. The tandoor (behind a glass screen) is great entertainment for the kids. We also use the take-away service regularly and it's good too.
After travelling UK, USA, India, Nepal and Oz, I can confidently say that this was the worst Indian meal I have had. Three inedible T/A lunch packs that resembled prison stew rather than Curry. I believe in two chances before a bad review but this time I'll make an exception. Please consider other positive review and make your own judgment, it may have been a one-off bad chef day
Attentive service, reliable food, friendly staff, good food.
An all around delight to spent an evening at.
