Yes I go to this school and they teach more than some private schools; they also have very high NAPLAN results average for 75% students. I'm in year 4.
I'm a youtuber.:)

This is a school i am at now i rate it five stars because the teachers actually do care now the only reason the previous comments have been so negative was because they were in the school years and years ago when the teacher actually did care so dont listen to the previous comments because they are wrong (and probably other schools trying to make theirs look good)

Both my wife and I are experienced teachers with 50+ years experience each. Two of our grandchildren with High Functioning Autism attend this school and we have never experienced a school where staff — teachers, admin, aides, counsellors, etc — are so professional, thorough, aware and caring. This culture starts right from the top and pervades all levels of admin, teaching and support. Bullying — common for Autistic kids — is not tolerated and is addressed promptly and appropriately. Kudos to all involved.: D

I’m a year 6 and I have been bullied since prep I have gone crying to my teachers and they blamed me and made me feel like I was in the wrong and the bullies not one but 11 bullies were told they were victims and I am a bad person, I got hit multiple times by the mental kid but nooooooo they protect him and they make him feel comfortable and I get yelled at. Overall horrible horrible school
Teachers do nothing
So many bullies
DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL
i can’t wait to get out of there
Also the teachers favor some students (cough cough) the sports teachers

I am uni student and I went inside to ask a question. When the lady at the reception saw me the first thing she said to me was: ''. And who are you? ''.
I have never seen a more rude person in my life. Apparently uni students are not welcome in this school. Terrible first impression. I would never step my foot at this school ever again.

Not happy with this school, academic results good is just because the students have tutor outside school time! Teachers are careless about boys fighting, my boy had been injured around eyes three times in a year! Such a big school, only 6 yard duty at lunch access, when something happens, school gave reason was they didn't see! As parents, all we want is school is a safety and happy environment for kid, unfortunately, serpell doesn't provide.

I would advise the Principal to review the reception staff and make staff changes if possible. If the 1st person from Serpell Primary who greets a prospective parent looks like the parent is impinging on her time and does not offer any help, then the receptionist is not doing her job (lousy attitude, non eye contact, and facial expression aside).
Do remember that this kind of negative attitude from a staff member can be perceived as racial discrimination, whether misintepreted or otherwise.

I dont remember a lot about my childhood, i do remember my time at Serpell. I was there back in 2004, there were sooooo many bullies, and the teachers did NOTHING to stop it. I got to the point i asked my mum and the whole family to not ask me about my day because i hated it. I admit there is one girl there i am still friends with, but no, this school was a bad experience for me, and reading these reviews, it hasnt gotten any better.

Both my children attended this school from foundation to grade-6.
Full of high caliber teachers that are as good as those in private schools. Lots of staff development encouraged by the principal. And it shows, as NAPLAN and ICAS results are off the charts. It continuously rates highest in the state and country.
Internationally recognized school with great student exchange programs with New Zealand and China. Great programs on robotics, philosophy, student engagement and leadership.
