Low quality food and rude staff. Visited here about three weeks ago and had the flake, fries, and potato cakes. The fish and potato cakes sit out pre-breaded. The potato cakes were soggy. Fries were bland and tasteless, like eating frozen fries. Staff were rude when I visted, and a staff member even reached out to me on a different review service to harass me for not leaving a positive review. Wouldn't recommend this place.

Worst costumer service, I just stood at the counter and was ignored while they served another customer I had walked in before.

Great hamburgers with the lot. So much better taste and value than the burger chain offerings. Excellent potato cakes. Friendly staff. Hungry? Definitely try Scorch’z Takeaway.

All I asked for was 4 dim Sims 4 potato cakes an chips.
I got half cooked chips an half cooked potato cakes an No dim Sims
Plus the young girls behind the counter started.fighting over another mixed up order while I waited.
Thanks for nothing.

Really nice fresh food, good to see unlike what someone else said the person serving DID NOT HANDLE ANY FOOD, great start to a great business

I've had the Scorcher burger a few times (personal fav and best value burger in town) but tried the Lamb Souva for lunch. I have a new lunchtime favourite now. Have to save the burger for dinner. The wait is worth it for fresh, real food.
Staff a friendly and accommodating with random requests (seen one bloke get a battered burger burger the other night) may have to give that one a try. Try the Battered Salami and Kabana Bites for something delicious and the Scallops are fresh with rue on. Keep up the good work.

I tried Scorch'z fish and chips for the first time last Friday.one word. "DISAPPOINTED". Our order was wrong when we got home so I went back on Sunday and spoke with the owner and told him of my concerns.that being we were missing a piece of flake the potato cake we purchased were only batter (no potato) and the chips were very average.his reply was that would be correct as he had a piece of flake left over at the end of the night.the potato cakes he was aware of as the supplier told him they used the wrong cutter to cut the potatoes but will be rectified in his next order but still didn't stop him charging me "FULL" price for a sub standard item that he had knowledge of.at no stage did the owner suggest he would return my money for the incorrect order or for the potato cakes minus the potato (not that I would have accepted it) but at least the offer would have been appreciated.upon leaving he thanked me for my feedback and told me hopefully next time we will get it right. " NOT SURE THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME "

OK.so you cut your own potato cakes you still knew they were sub standard however you are quite happy to still charge full price for them. I did just call in to let you know of my disappointment however hearing your response to my concerns including blaming your staff ringing in sick and you having to get casuals in is not my problem.this is "NOT" a slander on you or your business it is what I would call after being in the customer service industry for over 20 as constructive criticism.it is up to you on weather you take it on board our not.good luck with your business

Had Sunday night all was cooked perfect service great. Only one thing potatoe and pumpkin cakes a little thicker paper thin otherwise def be back again.

Complete unprofessional service, complete lack of knowledge from extremely young workers with no concept of time or how to run a business. They don’t take eftpos and it’s 2019 for crying out loud. Food was absolutely disgusting never again. No sauce in the burger - zero taste and their ‘homemade’ patties were awful. Chips as previously stated by another unhappy customer were soggy and had zero flavour, the gravy was awful too. Can’t see how they will last, terrible food and customer service, plenty of better options in Ballarat such as the Arch.

Nice customer service - but - the girl cooking my burgers did not have gloves on and was handling the burger buns and just a moment before she was running her hands through her hair. Also, I think the fish and potato cakes were a little underdone. I am hoping in time that this business gets better with some experience because they seem like nice people.

Great friendly service at this fish and chip shop. I was greeted as soon as I entered. The flake was to die for very tasty, and as for the chips what can I say they are without a doubt the best I have tasted since I was a child you can tell they are freshly cut and not brought frozen ones. I would recommend this business in a heartbeat. We have finally found our 1 and only fish shop in Ballarat.)

I've been to this store on multiple occasions and on multiple occasions the food has been under cooked. If people like to eat raw food, I highly recommend this Fish and Chip Shop.

Give this place a miss if your in any kind of a hurry. Staff have no sense of organisational skills and are constantly stepping over one another ordered 4 dollars of chips and and two potato cakes waited nearly 30 minutes and the upon asking about the order has been advised it hadn't been put into the fryer yet. Not to mention staff handle food after handling money. Need to improve their organisation if they want to last. Even seen one gentleman in there had ordered at 5.15 and at 6.10 he didn't have his order when he asked turns out they had forgotten to put it down. Ended up waiting another 15 minutes and then i walked put without even bothering to ask for a refund.
