No flavor at all on the fish and chips! Please there is Coles in front of your shop, get some salt and chicken salt to flavor your food!
Shop is full of chalk writing, the fryer looks dirty and the shop smells musty.
Overall, poor management, flavourless food waste of money. Not worth it.
The team at Scorch'z are phenomenal. The chips and potato cakes are divine, and the fact that on Good Friday when they were swamped with customers they managed to get orders out the door incredibly quickly and at their high standard of food quality - I was surprised to have an order placed for pick up at 6pm, and left at 6: 45 - which on good friday is a pretty fantastic effort.
Great job Scorch'z. We'll be back!
Best fish n chips we’ve had in a long time! Perfectly cooked chips and potato cakes the best, nice and crispy, scollops and fish awesome also.
Awesome customer service with some extras thrown in! We will def be back! Thank you
Mediocre soggy food after a very long wait that the staff didn't warn anyone about. A long wait is fine if you give warning, but they didn't seem to care enough to do that.
Superb food, they cater to most people, not going to say all as I'm unsure, however my daughter got the beef burger with the lot, can't remember it's proper name, without beetroot change tomato sauce to BBQ sauce, she loved it my daughter is only young and autistic and has loads of sensory issues, and it's very hard to find something she will actually eat, been there twice, first time she ate 3/4 of the burger which is heaps for a 4 year old, partner had a chicken snitzel burger add bacon, tomato, raw onion, egg and pineapple, rarely eats carbohydrates, but would go back every week for this burger, especially if it's added to the menu, as like chicken snitzel with the lot, also amazing prices, dim sims still currently $1 each don't find that price at any where decent these days, great dim sims, minimum chips is a huge portion still like back in the day, haha between the 3 of us, we still have well over half left, I'm not really a chip person, but they were pretty good only thing I could fault is slight not enough BBQ sauce on the beef burger, (think it might of been the bun absorbed it a little bit but that's fine, had I realised before I left again I'm sure they would of supplied a bit more, only mentioning the sauce in case you love lots of sauce however first time sauce was perfect, however my daughter ate it in the car rather than waiting til we got home, that could be the difference, also spot on customer service
Got home and no scallops! Ripped off $3.50 each. Great follow up, got the missing ones plus more.thank you!
Bad bad bad some things over cooked and some things under cook? Sloppy mince in the steak burger that we had to go back to get Scallops small and wasaay over cooked
Ordered from here a minimum of chips 3 potato cakes 2 deep fried mars bars 3 nuggets and a pineapple fritter. Chips were soggy and more like French fries then fish and chip shops chippys and no chicken salt: (flake was the tiniest little bit I've ever seen and covered in lemon juice. Nuggets were just yuck soggy and tasted bad can't rate the potato cakes because they weren't in there forgotten. Pineapple fritter was just gross and no cinnamon sugar: (I've ordered from here twice in the past and it was quite good they've definitely changed in the past few months will not be ordering again
(Customer service was okay:) )
Thought I'd stop in for lunch as the shop was very quite, 18 minutes for a lamb souva and a chiko roll? I thought maybe it's taking so long because the food will be good, I was wrong.
The chiko rolls batter was not fully cooked, the person preparing the souva microwaved the wrap? What's wrong with your grill?
Also ridiculously over priced for what you're served. Would not recommend to anyone
Very disappointed, no chicken salt. Got the $50 family pack. Was told no dim sims so would receive extra potato cakes, I received 3 small ones. I thought the flake was the potato cakes as they are extremely thin and small. Flake is small. Most disappointing part was the $13 chicken souvlaki. It was three mouthfuls at most. Was so tiny and only half full! Wasted $63 dollars. Will not be returning.
Oh and everything was soggy!
Disappointing and the worst fish and chips.potato cakes very small and greasy.flake very small l will not go back they want to go back the the drawing board
Went in for the first time today for an early lunch. The gentleman at the counter was polite and genuine, and the food was fantastic. We will be back! Thanks!
The staff were very friendly, and greeted me as I walk in the door. The food was very nice, and at such a great price compared to their competitors. Overall a very positive experience, and I do recommend that you eat here.
Chips where small and tastles
Flake was a little dry but they must of cooked the scallops batter was under cooked they are new since april last year so theyreally need to slow down and set times for there cook, im a chef and understand the problem they are having its a great clean shop.but they need to just relax with the cooking side of things and slow down if they master this they will do well
Great establishment, friendly staff and great food for a good price. Literally favourite fish and chip store in Ballarat! Scratch that Victoria
Awesome family Bussiness, Terrific owner, couldn't ask for Better! 100% Well recommended A+
Went to get $6 chips for the grandkids, only went here as Mt Clear Fish Shop was closed and ended up with the worst chips I’d ever had. The oil was obviously due for changing and they were undercooked. Could never recommend this shop as it was a disgusting serve of a simple fish shop product. Stay clear.
We ordered our family usual from here after seeing they finally take card. Absolutely shocked (in a good way) and both the size of the order and the low price. Absolutely no way our family of 4 could eat the 28 dollar meal, and finally a chippie that cooks calamari rings properly!
After reading the reviews I had high hopes for some good food. We ordered flake, scallops and chips. The flake was very, very nice but that was about it. The chips weren't good at all, and although we paid for 4 scallops, we only received 2. Very disappointed.
