Saravanaa Bhavan reviews
72Ordered for thali but was disappointed. Literally nothing could justify paying $20 for the thali. The chapati was soooo crunchy like its been sun dried. Not going back!
This review is specifically for bajjis you get in wantirna branch. I have been coming to this place since it opened and have tried all the bhaji on the menu and consistently the salt in the batter is always less so the bhajis are close to tasteless and specifically speaking about onion bhaji, slicing an onion and dipping in batter and frying it is not an onion bhaji and it should not be done like that at all (just joking: it's a crime to make onion bhaji like the way you are making it now). Rest everything is just amazing!
Tasty Indian restaurant. Especially the authentic South Indian cuisine is amazing. Best place for foodies
One of the best south Indian food place in southeast Melbourne. Covidsafe place to try all your vegetarian Indian food
As always very good. Had mini thali. It was delicious and so many variety of curries, yoghurt, buttermilk and sweet. Best vegetarian restaurant
Always fresh food. Love to go here and everytime you go you can feel the real taste of Savanna Bhavan from Tamilnadu
I was a bit hesitant to write a review for this place but decided to write it because it may help someone and the management must know where they need to improve.
We were very disappointed with this place. Food was not fresh. It was microwaved. They took long time to serve. They did not serve ANY chutneys with the idlies we ordered. We had to ask for chutnies! The food was tasting like it was from the previous day or early morning!
They didn't serve desserts for long time then we lost our patience and asked them to cancel the desserts. They gave us kulfi as a complimentary thing but it was the kulfi which we get at indian grocery stores and not the one which is made at the restaurant. I would never recommend anyone to go to Sarvanna Bhavan in Wantirna South!
We really enjoyed going to their Werribi branch! Never going to Wantirna South again!
I am not feeling like giving a single star to this place but the staff was good so only one star for their patience while serving many customers at the same time. 0 stars to food, management and overall experience!
Whenever you go in this restaurant, main item 'masala' will be always sold out. Even if it is a weekend or a weekday. Last time their manager apologised for this (because they realized this after our order and then waiting for 10 min) experience and he gave us a coupon for 10% discount and it was mid of Jan and today when we tried to redeem that they are saying it's already expired.why not learning lesson from mistakes. People are coming in this kind of places mainly to eat masala' dosa as per my understanding. Never going here again.
The quality and taste of food has deteriorated since my last visit. Ordered a thali today and was quite disappointed with the poor taste of the items.
OK.for the masala dosa but the special meals have items in it that I don't think it's special in south Indian like curd, Raita and Morre they r all curd and aviyal and rasam were bland.
Not up to the standard of the sarvana bhavan
Good South Indian foods available here along with varieties of sweets. Price is reasonable but the wait time is too long.
I am yet to see any other restaurant which can serve such authentic South Indian food in Melbourne. After their reopening few months ago, food and service has improved a lot. If you’re around that area then it’s very well worth visit for real food.
Quality is not the same as it was before. Lentils are less in dosa, vada and idly, no black pepper in Ven pongal and the list goes on. Over priced for the quality served. The quality of food served in New York Saravababhavans are for better than this restaurant. Will not visit again.
This is not the Sarvanaa Bhavan we know. This is too expensive, and serves indo-chinese, punjabi food when it is an quint-essential South Indian brand. Singapore and UK ones are far better, cost and quality-wise. I suspect a non-south Indian franchise operator in Melbourne. Sad.
I ordered for special meals, there is no spl item also the sambar is watery, spl kulambu is dalordered mini idly with podi, again disappointed very less quantity, podi is not tasty, sambar is watery.waste of money this time.
We had dinner at Saravanaa bhavan today. Absolutely loved the Mysore masala dosa. The friendly staff there made it even more enjoyable dinner. Highly recommended.must visit guys.
Place is good. Some of the items is undercooked and need a little more salt in the food. Service also good.
Great south Indian food. But should improve on variety and authentic taste of sharavana bhava of Chennai.
Authentic cuisine, faster service, large parking, high chair for kids, variety of choices best for brunch or lunch or dinner
Vast variety of veg options, south indian, north Indian. Punjabi. And chaat as well. They serve paan as well. One of my reasons for visit.
