Sandown Park Hotel

This hotel is badly run down and in need of an urgent upgrade. You should only book here if there are no other hotels available anywhere in Melbourne even an hour away. There was no hair dryer in the room, no breakfast facilities, the room was freezing, shower door would not open or shut, the heater didn't work and the blankets were dusty and mouldy. The staff were disengaged and disinterested but were trying their best with what they were working with. Unfortunately its a 1 star.

Its alright, the beer and food are very cheap.
In fact they may be the cheapest in all the lands.
The clientele can be rough, rude and unsavoury however the staff are pleasant.
Not a place you should bring your kid for lunch.

We've been coming to this pub for quite some time now as we are locals and it seems the quality of food has dropped which is quite disappointing. Fortunately the staff are quite friendly and provide good customer service. After the meal we received I don't think we will be back. $39 to receive 4 beef ribs that were over cooked is just not good enough. The meal was too small for the price that was charged and the quality was lacking.

The room was way more rundown than the photos wld have you believe.
Worst part was the shower head wldnt stay up, so it was impossible to shower anywhere above yr belly button.
Good part, was 2 free drinks and 10% meal discount with yr stay, bed was good and soft, but the shower head issue wld never make me come back. So disappointed.

Lots of parking and dining space.
Mature and pleasant staff.
Well priced and tasty meals.
Only let down was both our meals were not hot.
It appears they may have been sitting for a while.

Been here a few times on my birthday and we had my dads afterwards there the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good. Food was abit pricey but they have some great 2 for 1 deals you can use.

I went for lunch and the food was overpriced and under-delivered. I hear they have specials but I wouldn't bother. The service was nothing special either.

Good value, better than usual pub food for sure. Try the truffle chicken, it's great. Also specialises in steak. Spacious dining room and carpark. Best pub in this area.

Sandown Pub used to be an absolute hole. But since massive renovation (and I don't know when they were done) the changes are incredible. Excellent menu, decent sized serves, and lovely staff. I'd definitely go back.

We had a meal in your restaurant today. The food was okay.
BUT the customer service was poor.
My friend received her meal, but I had to ask for mine.
By the time I got mine she had finished hers.
It would have been nice to eat at the same time.
Finally I got my meal, no apology no nothing!

Also
I had to go into the pokies bar to get my beer as it had run out at the bar.
Was told it would take about an hour or more to connect up another barrel.
I asked for a stubby of light.
Was told we don’t have light beer in a stubby you will have to go to the pokie bar.
Shocking way to treat a customer, have never had that problem anywhere else.

Will not be coming back again & neither will our friends

Been come here for a while after work just for a simple Soft Drink and a couple of smokes to unwind but the attitude from some of the stuff is a joke wonder how the keep there doors open. If it wasn’t the the poor people that are addicted to the Pokie machine I think this place would of closed its doors along time ago. Don’t believe the some of the stuff should have a job here very disrespect and the attitude is disgusting. Good luck if u come her to have a few drinks and relax.

Recommending hard! Got everything for a good night. The pub, casino, pool, great food aswell! Their parmas are bomb as:)

A bit of a wait for a the meal but it was 1.30 Well worth the wait the nicest pork sausage and mash meal on seniors menu.home style all 5 other meals nice as well great food

Great function room at an affordable price. Stage, dance floor (with disco ball and lights) pool table, PS2s and arcade games for the kids. Great food and wonderful staff

Always love Sandown Park Hotel. We even had our Wedding Reception there 4 months ago. Thinking of having a Birthday function there next year. Highly recommended.

I had dinner in the bistro tonight and - NEVER AGAIN! Standing in line to order staff kept interrupting the cashier to key in another staff order, staff on duty were ordering food for themselves. The cashier was slow to key in order (just two meals). When the meals came both were wrong: instead of a schnitzel it was a parmigiana and a steak that should have been med/rare was well done. Insult: it had a med/rare flag in it! Skinny cappuccino was so hot I tipped some out to add cold water. Very disappointing night.

I was really surprised how good the service and food was. I just moved to the area and randomly decided to drop in. Even though the kitchen was 30 minutes from closing (I arrived at 8PM) thr food was out in a flash and was great! I definitely recommend their steaks and butter chicken.

Room Comfortable, Food Great. Great Location. Ticks all the boxes for any people who need to commute to the suburbs of Melbourne.

An classic older venue that has been bought up to modern standards. Large gaming room and open bistro area. Inexpensive menu and worth popping in

I love this place we went on a Friday night cheap and good bar meals cold beer free pool staff are fantastic pizza was the best I have had in a long time I am going back this Friday with the family again have told everyone about this pub it's one of the best pubs around you should be proud to have a good place love it
