Sambreros Tex-Mex Cantina

2 stars are for the courteous staff that works at the ground to try and make the experience pleasant for every guest. The ambience is pretty good and gives positive vibes with pleasant serving staff. But that ended pretty soon with us waiting at least 45 mins for the food to arrive, while ground staff who knew the reality were apologetic and were trying to comfort us, the supervisor lady wasn't quite. I was told that 45 mins is what one should expect to wait while being there so be aware of that. While asked how was everything at the counter and I responded honestly, the lady kept arguing that it was 40 mins wait and not 45 mins. Coming to the food, it is mediocre. Best part was the corn chips and the complementary dip provided in the beginning. We tried Nachos and Burrito and wanted to try more but didn't have patience to wait another 45 mins. I am certainly not going there again and wish them all the best with the attitude of the lady at the counter.

We visited last week and had dinner.very friendly staff and fantastic food. Our 7 year old enjoyed the food too. Thanks guys.

What an amazing place to eat, beware the Margaritas are addictive. Full marks for service and value.

Best place to go on the island. Friendly, accommodating owner and staff/owners go out of their way to make you comfortable. I think I need a plaque in one of the booths Sam?

We found Sambreros Mexican in Cowes to provide fantastic Mexican food, great service and a great restaurant ambience. We enjoyed the Fish Taccos, Seafood Special Tacos and the special Prawns. If we returned to Phillip Island we would definitely return to Sambreros.

The whole group showed vaccination status and one person's phone died, we asked if we can use our charger to allow that person to show proof, and were told we were being rude. Little did the staff know we had all just overcome covid one day before and were allowed out of iso, no offence but if someone says they will show you at least give them the opportunity, food was very average at best, service even worse.

Came with friends to enjoy cold margaritas and warm Mexican cuisines. Ordered the beef burrito bowl and the signature squidzy special margarita, friendly staff and quick drinks on arrival, perfect for an escape from the city! This is my third time coming here and always new specials and promos happening, would recommend to anyone wanting to try new drinks or who enjoys the sweet aroma of Mexico/tex-mex styled dinning. Perfect for friends and family

Food was delicious and freshly prepared. Staff were great and we liked the selection of hot sauces. Definitely recommend!

We went in and the girl that we spoke to was lovely. We asked for a table for 3 so off she went but the manager was to flat out just told her No!

So glad we tried this place during our stay at Phillip Island, delicious food and great service, definitely recommend it.

As a family we had a lovely dinner and the food was great the kids dinners where great (fish & chips, beef burrito) and we loved combo fajitas and the prawn scallop burrito bowl. The drinks where good too

Service was great, the staff were so friendly, and the food OMG, great authentic Mexican food. I had the loaded up Nachos, with the shredded beef, Yum & the wife had the El combination, best ever. Sambreros did not disappoint, as well the wife had the frozen lemon margarita, this was the best. Highly recommend to come here and eat, may need to book though, this place gets busy.

It was ok, but used to be better when it was the Pan Handle. Menu is limited now, and no alterations. We missed the way it used to be and taste.

The slow cook beef is very nice everyone enjoyed their meals and big margaritas, staff were bubbly the atmosphere was nifty.

An absolute awesome experience from excellent service, to delicious food within a great ambiance created by Sam and her team. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Most amazing homemade fresh salsa! Stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant during our trip on Phillip Island and was very glad we did. Great service and food!

Food never disappoints and service is always fantastic. Great range of unique alcoholic drinks. Love bringing my girlfriends here. Also great atmosphere to bring the family.
