Sambreros Tex-Mex Cantina reviews
45Service was pretty good. Food was just OK, ingredients seemed not fresh, but we have a sample size of 1. Mexican rice was nice. Decor is nice. Actually in the midweek it was quite quick for the food to arrive.
Great customer service and good Tex-Mex food. The portions are big and the price reasonable.
The food was okay for the price, it was a bit bland. Most of the staff are great but one of them was cold and unwelcoming
Great service from start to finish. Told us up front it was 1/2 hour wait for food and in retrospect we are glad we waited. The food was delicious, authentic, and looked amazing. The staff were informative, attentive, and polite. We'll be back.
Yum! Lovely fresh meals, full of taste. Generous portions. Friendly staff. We will be coming back.
Customer service was a bit short and sweet not the happiest service but the food was nice.
Was surprised with how good the food was! Big portions and tasty flavours.
We actually tried to go again the next day, but it was closed. Will go again next time in the area
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Samberos. Food was well prepared and delicious. Do not miss dessert. The cinnamon crisps were the best thing I have eaten in ages. Sweet sweet heaven. The staff were friendly. Service was fast. The booths were comfortable and some families with younger kids enjoyed it too. Prices were very reasonable. Highest recommendation
Our waiter was Renee.she went above and beyond to create the best experience possible
Great service great food. MASSIVE meals and very well priced
Highly recommend
We both had the nachos

GF and I saw this place on our drive into Cowes and decided to give it a try. We were warned at the door about a wait for food which is fair enough. Drinks arrived quickly, however when my partner went to the bathroom the ladies toilets were not flushing. I eventually needed to go and it was the same story for the Gents. We eventually got our burritos, they were a decent serving size, not the best mexican food for the price, but it is an expensive Island and the drinks were decent.
After another failed check on the bathroom situation we heard from another frustrated customer that a large outdoor fan had just fallen off its fixture and almost landed on-top of a little kid and could of been very serious. Not sure what the maintenance of this place is like and won't be in a hurry to return unfortunately.
Our experience was below average! Really expensive for what you get - My friend ordered a fajita and it was made from frozen vegetables for $30. And there was a fly on my tacos! The salsa was the only thing that was good.
Food came out really quickly. We ordered a burrito bowl and the enchiladas. Burrito bowl was great value for money and very filling. Enchiladas were also good but not outstanding.
Came in at 8pm, It was slightly busy and we did take notice of the sign; We decided to eat here still because it smelt amazing. We waited 20-30 mins just to be served. The poppers were terribly sour and the sauce had been split (it was some pinkish sauce).
the staff member with the black bun was very lovely, but the rest not so much. A male staff member, mistaken our table and made it seem our fault as well as when serving us made a comment to say “i hope this was worth it”.
We waited almost another 50 mins for our mains and they still didn’t come so we decided to leave. I asked to pay just for the starters and drinks but they declined rudely (as if i’m supposed to know a store policy, when every store is different).
We asked for our food to be take away, which was told that it’ll take 5 mins but took another 30. When received, the Chilli i ordered was the same meat as the burritos and the serving was alot smaller to the pictures i’ve seen online.
No one is willing to pay $27 for a burrito that taste like the ready made ones, nothing tasted fresh either. The poppers were definitely frozen, as they tasted from the freezer and the chips on our trio dip, were 90% crushed. The tortillas weren’t fresh, almost coles/woolies standard wrap and the drink was heavily watered down.
From reading the response from the owner, this place takes no pride in customer satisfaction and is flat out rude. This place is overpriced and disgusting. Would not recommend.
My husband and I are massive Mexican food lovers and have not had a fabulous Mexican meal for a while. Tonight we finally convinced my father in law (very fussy not adventurous eater) and my father (visiting from Greece) to let their hair down and create some memories with their children and grandchildren. They agreed and we were on our way to this amazing place. From the moment we arrived Jodie a beautiful waitress greeted us with such a lovely smile. How refreshing to see a waitress that was polite hard working and full of smiles. My husband and I owned a restaurant years ago and we both come from a hospitality background so we know how hard it is to find staff that want to be at work and love what they do. After an amazing meal, incredible drinks, and mouth watering dessert, my father in law cheeky as he is beat us all to the bill. Brought us to argue who should have paid for this amazing experience bringing them to now want to eat Mexican again
A massive thank you for an absolutely incredible experience. Thank you for helping my father in law become adventurous and leaving my dad with great memories to take to Greece of the Mexican cuisine.
Lots of love

At first I thought this place was going to be overpriced, then the food arrived. I got the combination plate ($27) and it was a plate completely full of tasty food. About 2-3 meals worth and definitely worth it.
The last time I visited this restaurant was in 2009. I really enjoyed it and always talked about coming back. We arrived at opening and the woman who opened the door didn’t even greet us, didn’t say hello, wasn’t smiling. I instantly felt uncomfortable. She seated us and took our orders…I asked her questions about the menu and I felt her getting slightly impatient with me. It’s something I noticed. She never smiled or greeted people with a smile. The others were smiling and friendly. Again, something I noticed. We all have off days or things going on in our lives so maybe this was the case, but customers who come to this place want not just good food, but a nice experience with friendly staff.
Overpriced for what it is
Plates come out boiling hot, burnt my hand on it!
Makes it seem like they're made in a big batch and just reheated
$26 for a burrito that will make you sprint to the toilet afterwards.
We had worse experience here. We waited more than 40min for food. On top of that staff is yelling at customers. I would say zore respect for customers.
Stopped in for dinner and it was a great choice. Love the kitschy vibe. The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive.
The food was delish. We had fajitas and enchiladas.
The frozen margs are also very yummy!
I've had Tex-mex all over the world, and this little place is right up there with the best I've ever had. Good value, good service, and a great meal. We'll be back!
