This is special! Booking a 7 night retreat at Samadhi was one of the best investments I've ever made for myself. It absolutely exceeded expectations (and I had big expectations). This is not your usual group retreat, but instead it's bespoke and personal. My program was the perfect mix of advice and guidance, body treatments, meditation, yoga, and relaxing downtime. The setting was lush and peaceful, but only a quick drive into the heart of Daylesford. Oh and the food was INCREDIBLE! I'm so grateful to Annah and Wayne not only for their wisdom as practitioners, but also for their genuine care. I felt very nurtured. I HIGHLY recommend this unique retreat experience for anyone looking to make shifts in their life and/or health, transform the way they think, or just take time out to relax and be spoiled. I will certainly be a regular guest.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a truly enchanting retreat that left me rejuvenated and able to find the “Me” again. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, every aspect of my stay was relaxing and unpressured. This review aims to share my experience at a place which allowed me the relaxation I needed to peel back the layers and develop a plan to move forward and be happy again.
One of the highlights of this retreat was undoubtedly the exceptional dining experience. Every meal served was a culinary masterpiece. The use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients shone through in every dish, offering a delightful explosion of flavours. Whether it was a hearty breakfast, or a delectable dinner, the meals were wholesome and thoughtfully constructed. Each meal was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding an artistic touch to the dining experience. Dietary preferences and restrictions were attentively catered to.
The retreat's surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and serenity. Nestled amidst lush greenery and surrounded by picturesque landscapes, it offered an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The well-maintained gardens provided a soothing ambiance that allowed guests to truly unwind. Comfortable seating areas were strategically placed to allow guests to enjoy the natural beauty while finding their own peaceful nook to read, meditate, or simply soak in the serene atmosphere. The sound of birds chirping created an environment that encouraged deep relaxation.
The hosts were wonderful with compassion and knowledge of wellness. They were readily available to answer questions, and ensured that my needs were met. Their dedication to making each guest feel at home were truly commendable.

For those considering this retreat, I wholeheartedly recommend booking a four-day stay to truly reap the maximum benefits of this blissful escape. During my visit, I opted for a four-day stay, and it proved to be the perfect duration to fully immerse myself in the experience. In a world where we're often rushing from one commitment to another, a four-day retreat allows you to slow down, unwind, and truly savour every moment.
This retreat is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, to be present in the moment, and to breathe in the tranquillity that surrounds you. With each passing day, I felt a profound sense of relaxation and rejuvenation that I hadn't experienced in a long time. The pace of life here encourages you to leave behind the worries and stresses of everyday life and focus solely on yourself and your well-being.
Whether you spend your time meditating by the serene pond, strolling through the enchanting gardens, or simply unwinding with a good book, a four-day stay offers the opportunity to fully embrace the retreat's philosophy of being present and taking in the beauty of the moment.
This retreat is highly recommended for those seeking a profound and lasting relaxation experience. It provides the ideal amount of time to disconnect from the outside world, enjoy the culinary delights, and foster a deeper sense of inner peace. Don't rush through this extraordinary journey; savour every moment and let the magic of this retreat work its wonders on your mind, body, and soul.
My stay at this retreat was a memorable experience and one I will build on to continue my journey of focus and health. The combination of exquisite meals, a relaxing environment, and the accommodating hosts created a haven of tranquillity and contentment. If you are in search of a place to unwind, indulge in exceptional cuisine, and be treated like royalty, this retreat should be at the top of your list. I can't wait to return and relive this enchanting experience.
Every person’s journey is individual, and you will get out of it what you want. An open mind and a willingness to change are powerful assets on your path to personal growth and healing. Embrace the journey with curiosity and optimism and be prepared to adapt as you discover new insights and opportunities for positive transformation.

We have just had the most superb experience at Samadhi Retreat. Firstly, the vegetation and landscaping immediately put me in a state of relaxed wonder, even before we got to the apartment. Once inside, we were greeted by our warm and down to earth hosts and shown around. The place is spacious and light filled with comfy couches to crash on and a coonara was burning away, to keep us warm. Outside, alpacas grazed contentedly and a mating pair of kangaroos had just moved in. The place was spotless, without that clinical edge that some spa places have. Dinner appeared on our dining table: wild caught salmon with a yummy nut crust and loads of fresh vegetables served with coconut aminos. Dessert was this amazing strawberry ice concoction with a spicy nut crust. We settled in by the fire and then enjoyed an early night in huge, luxurious beds, each with a stunning view of the gorgeous countryside. The next day I had some of the treatments on offer, which included an amazing sound healing with crystal bowls and bells. We stayed for two nights but I could have stayed there forever! It is like being in the private home of wise, loving friends who now exactly what you need to feel nurtured and rejuvenated. We will be back. Soon.

The Samadhi Retreat is a place where you literally step away from life as you know it. On arrival I first noticed the quietness and the remoteness of the location. This imediately sets the scene for what to expect. This helps remove not only the noise of city life, a busy life but the inner noise that I experienced on a daily basis. Although I didn’t have expectations as this was my very first retreat. I was thrilled with my experience. The hosts Wayne and Annah are very welcoming and generous and genuinely warm and caring people. They are a no fuss and no pretence couple. They were so committed to personalising my experience to ensure I got what I needed. In fact they knew what I needed more than me. This is through their enormous experience and knowledge that they were very happy to share. I am so grateful that I was made to feel safe to be brave and vulnerable immediately on arrival. Because of this I kept and open mind and put trust in them and their skills. In addition to the counselling sessions that go deep quickly, followed by solid advice and encouragement. I was treated to many body treatments and meditation sessions. Annah being a nutritionist also provided exceptional cuisine that was top restaurant quality. The food was also tailored to support gut health and help with balancing hormones etc.this extra care and effort really does make the difference. In between the daily treatments and sessions I was able to enjoy the accommodation and space provided. The accommodation allows you to settle in and relax in your own space and process all that has been spoken about and start to practice the skills learned to take home with you.
I am very happy I discovered Samadhi and had the opportunity to meet and spend time with Wayne and Annah. I will return the next time I need to unwind and just breathe.

A girlfriend and I stayed at the beautiful Samadhi for two nights last weekend. In the best possible way, it felt like a two week rejuvenation break for us both. We left feeling lighter, healthier, more in touch with ourselves and deeply relaxed. The hosts have gone out of their way to make guests comfortable, from the pre-stocked fireplace to beautiful toiletries, healthy mini-bar snacks, great reading material, super comfy beds, soft throw rugs, bespoke herbal teas and crystal bedside lamps. The gardens are both peaceful and absolutely stunning, and even the resident alpacas and kangaroos seemed super chilled and happy.
The food was incredible- fresh, organic, locally sourced, gluten free, super clean but also really delicious. Our meals were served in our private lounge/dining room by the fireplace.
We both booked various treatments- sound healing and meditation sessions plus healing massages. These left us feeling uplifted and lighter, with some great take-aways for later reflection.
The hosts Annah and Wayne were clearly not only incredibly knowledgeable practitioners, but they were also very warm and caring and took the time to deeply listen in order to tailor our programmes accordingly.
Though we were not the only guests staying over the weekend, our accommodation was so private that we only became aware of the other guests by seeing their cars in the carpark when we went out.
The beautiful surrounds helped us to reflect on and integrate the treatments we had, and at lunchtime we took a lovely outing to Daylesford which is a really charming little town with quirky shops and great cafes. Enki Apothecary was a standout.
This is a very special place run by two remarkable humans. Thank you Annah and Wayne! I will return!

Paying a premium for a “health retreat” comes with a certain expectation. Couple the price of the retreat with a website that boasts that their focus is “to help strengthen your immune system, build resilience and empowerment through a balanced program of health and wellness services” you’d think that you’d walk away from the experience highly satisfied. To put it bluntly, Samadhi Retreat is NOT a health retreat. I’d classify it as nice-ish accommodation in Glenlyon, accommodation that needs an update but in no means is it a health retreat as advertised. If you look through the reviews, be sure to search for the reviews that give it 2 stars or less. That’s more in line with the experience that I encountered.
For over $1k per night (I actually paid over $2.5k for 2 nights’ accommodation and a “spa package”), the only inclusions were breakfast and dinner each day (dinner consisted of a carrot log and carrots on night one, and a green pasta on night two), a 30 minute meditation session and a 45 minute massage. That’s it. That’s all you get. The spa package, which I paid an additional $395 for, consisted of a 30 minute massage, 30 minute foot reflexology session (which gave me a huge bruise on my toe) and mud wrap. After speaking with one of the owners (Wayne), I learned that people come to Samadhi for the consultation services, so I thought I would spend a little more to get one of his “highly acclaimed” counselling sessions. The session went for 30 minutes and cost another $250 – highway robbery for the counselling I received. I feel that I was scammed and that I need to warn potential guests that they should NOT stay here. Something else I found unsettling as a solo traveller was that I was unable to leave through the main entrance, I was essentially locked in by the owners, who share the property. They can enter and exit the room through the front door but I had to leave via a back door in the room. The owners would deliver the dinners via the front door and then lock me in again. It was off-putting and strange to say the least.
I echo the sentiment of another guest, the website is beautiful, however, the reality is that calling Samadhi a health retreat is a fabrication. I feel that it preys on the people that are desperate for mental health treatment and who are willing to pay a premium to get it. Please do not stay here if you want to stay at an actual health retreat. For $2.5k you expect all the bell and whistles – for me that is a full agenda of healthy activities and treatments. I didn’t receive any of that – only a couple of hours in total of treatments and then I was left to my own devices. There’s a reason why health professionals have not heard of the place. In my professional life I’ve been lucky enough to travel far and wide, and experience the best so I hope you believe me when I say this isn’t it.
Note: I complained to the owners about my experience and was refunded the price of the spa package ($395). I also stand by review, but expect Wayne and Annah to respond to this review online but I will be unable to respond due to Google’s response algorithm.

Update: responding to the owner about this being my third round of complaints - untrue. This is my only review about Samadhi on Google.

Firstly, i want to say thank you to Annah and Wayne. Im leaving this beautiful place, and i feel like i am leaving 2 beautiful friends.
To start, i needed a retreat from reality. Ive been going through some hard times with my mental health. I was very aware that Samadhi wasn't like a hospital, run by GP's and doctors, i knew it wasn't a clinical setting. Which is exactly what i needed, as i have been in those places and they have not helped.
I knew i needed to be around nature and like minded people.
As soon as i arrived, i was greeted by Wayne. He showed me to my room.
Room? Tgis place is like a 2 bedroom unit.
With beautiful floor to ceiling windows, natural interior, the most stunning bathroom ive ever seen.
Then i had the choice of 2 bedrooms.
I swear the bed is the most comfiest bed ive ever slept on.
And then Annah came in amd introduced herself.
I straight away felt welcomed by them both and felt safe.
After processing and taking it all in, i had my first nurturing session with Annah.
We went over everything, i felt so comfortable speaking to her about everything. There was no judgement.
After just one session, i had some new outakes on life, on what ive been doing. I had sone hope in myself.
Then later, i had a massage with Wayne. It was wonderful. The oils he used smelt beautiful and were very calming.
I felt very much at ease afterwards.
Then a bit later i was personally delivered my dinner and dessert.
Both of which were explained to me about the nutrition.
I would also like to add, that i was catered for as i am vegan.
This was no issue.
Over my 4 night stay, i have to say, the meals wete beyond my expectations.
I recieved breakfast and dinner.
All were so nutritious and absolutely delicious.
You can tell that so much thought and love went into these meals.
I also love that a lot of the produce came from their garden!
In my 4 nights, i also had 3 nurturing sessions, a yoga session, 2 massages and a meditation session.
I was given the time, i was given unconditional love and support.
I have been given some life changing advice, tips, mindfulness techniques, yoga practises and some new ways of processing my emotions.
I am leaving feeling refreshed and loved.
I haven't been "fixed" as that wasn't my intentions.
But i have been given hope, which is something i haven't felt in a very long time.
I'm hoping i can come back soon.
All i can say is, thank you Annah and Wayne.
This journey has meant a lot to me and i'll be forever grateful
Meg

Transforming. From the very second I arrived, I felt the peace, the love and the healing. Open your mind and heart here and the rewards will be enormous. Stunningly beautiful, attention to detail is second to none, food absolutely delicious and your hosts, Annah and Wayne, tailor the program to match exactly what you need. Magnificent!

Annah and Wayne have created such an amazing sanctuary at their Samadhi Retreat. I've been fortunate enough to stay with them twice, and both times I've walked away feeling refreshed and balanced and with a new insight, perspective or mindset shift. Their service is seamless, the property is stunning and the location is amazing.

I would leave a million stars if I could! I had the most incredible stay and wellness therapy at Samadhi. Within 4 days, 4 years of anxiety and weight had been lifted from my body! I never imagined possible what I experienced in a short time. Wayne and Annah make you feel at home and went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable and healing as possible. I would recommend this retreat to anyone and everyone I possibly could. Not to mention, the food was 10/10, the dogs and alpacas are so lovely and it’s soooo relaxing. Thank you both again, I’ll be back.

Like many, I ended 2022 in a challenging headspace and heartspace, and on a whim I trawled the internet for a place that would unlock new ways of thinking, doing and being, while slowing my mind down and kickstarting some recuperation. And with that I found Samadhi! The last few days of solitude, immersion in nature, relaxation, conversations, explorations, exercise, reflecting, thinking and feeling (while making friends with cute dogs and adorable alpacas) have been invaluable. Annah, Wayne, Jillian, Simonetta (and more) made me feel comfy, comforted, curious and calm, each in their own personal and unique way. I left with new ways and learnings to support and enliven my every day, and I’m looking very much forward to visiting again!

My husband and I ended the year at this amazing retreat. We didn’t realise how much we needed it but it’s changed our lives forever. We relaxed, enjoyed massages, body wraps, mediated and were really able to set goals for 2023 clear minded. The food was like a 5 star restaurant and it’s run by a beautiful couple who makes it complete. We will be returning later this year

I am at a loss of words of how to describe our experience at this “Wellness Retreat”.
My mum and I stayed there back in July 2022. It was to help me through a difficult time. It was to be for 4 nights but my Pa became critically ill and sadly passed away. We left in a hurry and distressed during the night after only spending one full night there and weren’t able to benefit from all of the extras that my mum had paid for. We were not there long enough or had enough contact with the hosts but my mum at the beginning had encouraged me to embrace my time there. She had her doubts which I found out later was the overpriced cost. She didn’t want to upset me at the time.
My mum has since told me that she paid over $6000 for this experience. I was shocked as it was nice accommodation but far from a luxury retreat as their website claims it to be. They gave us yoga mats to do it on our own, we actually thought that we had the yoga sessions with them as part of the program.
They will not let us return to continue our paid stay or refund us for our extras and the other 2 nights which we weren’t able to be there, which was $4000.
With no one else staying there during our time we did not stop anyone else from booking a stay, so they did not lose any money.
All we wanted was to come back at their convenience or be refunded the $4000.
I think $2000 is far too much to pay for nearly 2 nights stay but my mum was prepared to do that.
I am so upset for her and just can’t believe that anyone could do this.
No one should ever be treated or treat others in the way in which we have been treated.
It’s shameful and disturbing, especially from a Wellness Retreat.
In my opinion this place is ridiculously overpriced and I need to tell our story so as no one has to go through what we have experienced. I am totally shocked and disgusted.

Simply amazing experience! It's such a rare treat to have the time and space to do absolutely nothing and have absolute silence surrounding you (aside from the lovely birdsong). The location is perfect, a quiet and serene property on the outskirts of Daylesford. The food is lovingly prepared and delicious (and good for you!). The sessions are personalised and the healing the occurred was profound. Thank you, thank you, thank you ️

I honestly can’t recommend Samadhi as a health and wellness centre, in fact they are far from it. I want to express my experience for the vulnerable people searching for guidance and help in restoring their wellbeing and to read the negative reviews. These are the ones that are a true reflection of this so called retreat.
I paid for the package of 4 nights ($4,150) and extras ($1970) a total of $6,120. We received 2 dinners and 1 breakfast and hadn’t proceeded with any of our extras as we had to leave suddenly at 2am on our second nights stay. My father became critically ill and had to be flown by helicopter to the Alfred. We were told he may not survive the flight, so packed up and left to be with my family, we were so distressed (My beautiful dad has since passed away) We messaged Anna and Wayne to let them know of our departure and distress, which they appeared to be very sympathetic. We thought that under these harrowing circumstances, they would welcome us back to continue our paid stay at a time convenient to them and when we were in a position to do so. This I believe is what any business or kind and caring person would do, especially a wellness “retreat”.
After numerous attempts to contact Anna and Wayne since then, we were eventually told they were too busy to phone me. They did offer 1 nights accommodation but with no food or extras which was astonishing.
We were also told that there were no credit or refund and that this is stated on their website. This was never mentioned to us at any stage, even knowing that my father had been unwell prior to our booking. There is always room for such unexpected trauma.
I am a single mum desperately trying to help my daughter through her struggles and this was a lot of expense for me.
In my experience I believe Anna and Wayne took advantage of our vulnerability. This was shown in my therapy session when Wayne couldn’t make me cry as I wasn’t there for myself but for my daughter. I was completely fine and I am happy with who I am. Wayne then proceeded to tell me they also help people make more money when they have their own business as I have just started my own. This was a big red flag to me as I thought they purely ran a retreat to help peoples state of mind and wellbeing.
There were no other guests at the time of our stay so financially they did not lose any money from our early departure. They do all of the treatments themselves so no cost for staff. They also live there and were able to get about their day. The food was wholesome but not 5 star quality that you would expect for this price, and some frozen.
We are totally shocked with the lack of empathy and concern for what we endured, no follow up and they have done their best to avoid us.
We went to talk to them in person and the hostility that we encountered left us emotionally broken. We were told we were on private property and felt their anger.
I have never encountered this sort of treatment from anyone, nor have I had to write something like this.
I too run my own business helping people in creating a calm and peaceful home, focusing on their wellbeing, and I would never treat my clients with such disrespect and lack of empathy.
I gave them 10 days to respond to my last email and that was 2 wks ago and still no reply.
We felt that we wouldn’t be refunded for the other 2 nights and extras ($4,045) but can’t understand why we couldn’t continue at a time when they had no bookings, even at short notice for us.
Cathy Freeman may have given a lovely review but I highly doubt that she would even find our situation fair or just.
In my opinion this is a simple bnb not a luxury wellness retreat. For us, they have done more damage than good.
My daughter and I are deeply traumatised by our treatment.
I only hope that no one else has to go through what we have experienced with them. Zero stars

Exceptionally good, an amazingly positive experience. Life changing in a positive sense.

Lots of people seem to complain about the costs in reviews, but going here with no expectations other than to immerse yourself - fully - in the healing and reset abilities the team/space has to offer there - you will be changed for the better, forever.

I can't recommend this place enough really, but you need to be in the right frame of mind to really make the most of the healing and complete sense of calm and control you will obtain here.

I was lucky enough to spend a few days with Annah and Wayne at the Samadhi retreat recently. They not only speak, but live the philosphy and experience of wellness in their approach to everything. Being in that beautiful space, supported by their energy felt like a warm hug from mum. Just what the Dr ordered!

So grateful for the opportunity to spend time in this truly beautiful, tranquil sanctuary. A much needed and appreciated break to stop and reflect on life and the importance of time out and self care. Thank you Annah and Wayne for your warm welcome and generous hospitality. Everything was perfect (and delicious), I felt very pampered and well looked after.

From the minute we both arrived at Samadhi, we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles by the two owners Wayne & Annah. The entrance is nothing but lush with beautiful trees and pathways to lead you to your accommodation. When we entered our room our first impression was WOW! Attention to detail on all aspect from the living area that looks out into your own private outdoor sanctuary, to the cosy lush bedding or the bathroom area surrounded with all the greenery, loveeeed it!

My well-being sessions were AMAZING! I walked away with a clearer understanding of some of the things that stress me physically/mentally on a day to day basis with future tools, coping strategies and techniques for when these events/ situations occurs.

My meditation sessions were wonderful, Annah has a soft calm voice that really helps your mind and body to relax. I felt my body and breathing much more at a calmer level when we finished.

Our food was nothing short then 5 star! Full of wholesome, nutritional ingredients using fresh produce from their garden or sourced locally. Extremely delicious!

The alpacas on the retreat are absolutely adorable. We were lucky enough to have been there during feeding time and we had the honour of helping. There is a timber bench that you can relax and watch the alpacas throughout the day. I personally did my morning meditation there and throughout the day would make a cup of herbal tea and read a few chapters of my book.

After dinner I would go for a 30min walk around the area and take in its beauty, country air and free roaming wildlife, something I don't see back in the city.

Wayne & Annah,
Our sincere thank you for your guidance, hospitality, and support during our stay at your sanctuary. We're both truly blessed to have had the opportunity to have learnt amazing new skills from you both.
We are both leaving better, rested and with new skills we will take long into our future

All the very best

I have been going to samadhi every year for the past10 years. I love it. There is nothing quite like it as far as retreats go. Annah and Wayne have such a wide range of skills and life experience and have been great hosts for me with every visit

I returned in January this year and was amazed at the changes to the property. The gardens are so lush the improvements to the building perfectly allowed me my privacy and the opportunity to interact with other guests. This is new and it was a pleasure experiencing Annah’s meditations with the other guests

The food is home cooked and so tasty and the hospitality second to none. I stayed in the gold retreat I love the huge couch and the spaciousness Of it all

I find that that I need a full retreat with counseling, meditation, massage and healing to fully appreciate the full skillset of Wayne and Annah’s approach. This time I came for 4 days. Each time I learn something new and find a little more depth in my life from it. I do feel like it helps me be a better version of myself. Thanks so much for the work you do. I will be back
