Ruby Cafe Kyneton

Excellent coffee and couldn't fault the food I've had in my few visits even if I wanted to. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating (e.g. Happy to prepare an advance order over the phone so my restless toddlers can eat immediately upon arrival).

I can't help but baulk at some of the excessive pricing of some products not on the menu, such as $5 for a can of coke, and a 5% "service charge" on top seems a bit steep (unless this goes directly to the staff?) for a surcharge.

Made a custom order of Mushroom Benedict with bacon as I don't eat eggs. Staff accommodated all my questions and dietary needs. Was delicious! Would highly recommend!

Just dropped in to have lunch. Staff member had no idea about vegan options and offered GF bread. GF does not equate to vegan.

She seems to not know what food is made from non-human animal products.

You need to bring your staff up to speed with this common choice of eating.

Chicken and Leek soup (spelt ‘leak’ on the counter top sign) was so packed full of salt that it was virtually inedible. It looked good and the chunky chicken was nice.

When I spoke to staff they said that is how it should be and to stir it. I said I would give it a try and was told they would check back in 5 minutes. Moments later I could hear her complaining back to kitchen staff - very unprofessional. I was not checked upon.

Delicious, hearty and country food. Reasonable price and the highlight was a terrific hot chocolate on a cold day. Good job ruby

Staff were amazing. The barista (blonde hair) amazing coffee. Recommend by the Kyneton men’s shed. Well worth a ganda. I shall be back

Ruby Cafe provides a welcoming country charm and has plenty of indoor seating and for sunny / non rainy days - there’s a lovely courtyard out the back.

The coffee is great and they have your usual milk alternatives (including lactose free), the food is well priced and delicious with plenty of options on the menu as well as a variety of specials.

Best spot for parking is the large lot where the Woolworths supermarket is and you can walk through the courtyard from the back - the Main Street can be a bit difficult to find a spot.

2 hours of waiting and the fries was plain, the house brewed chai takes an hour to make, will not come again

Centre of town, like most Kyneton cafes they have a lovely friendly staff, prompt service and a wide variety on the menu. All at good prices. Highly recommended.

This is a great little cafe. Lots of options for different food preferences. Husband said the chilli scramble was the best he’d ever had!

Great spot for a Saturday catch up with friends. Coffee was spot on, and the burger would be my "must have" on the menu.
With a team that's totally attentive and a kitchen crew turning out excellent meals, its well worth a visit!

Incredibly rude staff. Walked in and just got a hello, how are you and my phone out to check in when we were told to come back in 20 minutes because their orders were backed up. I clarified to ensure I heard correctly and I was advised they weren't supplying service at the moment. Wasn't even asked what we were wanting to have. We were only there for coffee and cake so would not have effected their kitchen. Well you have lost customers for not supplying better customer service and manners. Would never go back.

The Cafe was not full so that was incorrect. The reason given that we to come back was due to this was incorrect. We were advised it was because your orders were backed up without even asking what we were after. We would have been happy to wait at one of your vacant tables - not to be sent away. This is not good customer service so not something to be proud of. We have choices as customers where to go thankfully. We took our business and money elsewhere and had a much better experience.

We’ve found a new favourite cafe. The food is absolutely perfect and the warm, friendly service is second to none. I’ve been loving the Ruby Super Bowl and the Big Breakfast (both perfectly prepared) and my adult kids adore Avo Toast and Breakfast Burrito. The 23 year olds are never home on the weekends and have literally decided to buy their first house in Kyneton so they can eat at Ruby every day! Lol. The service is fast and efficient and super friendly. I hope your renovations are speedy and successful, so we can start visiting again very soon. Well done team!

Literally the BEST chai latte on the planet. I work in the area and without fail this is my only go to place to get my extra hot almond chai latte. They add this extra kick to it that makes me feel like all my Christmas's have come at once. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. 10/10 place

Great food, lovely staff. Went above and beyond when a friend was stung by a wasp. Always a pleasure to visit and has the best Earl Grey tea I've had in Australia.
