Royal Hotel

Desperately needed a room for 3 adults and 2 pets (rabbit and bird) and couldn't have been happier. We arrived late at night (around 10~11pm) and they still got us a room with the animals. The staff were absolutely amazing and attentive, beds were comfortable and would absolutely stay again. Cheers everyone who was working on 4/3/23! Much love from the pets too?

A disappointing experience.
Waiting 1 hour &50 minutes for my meal. One staff trying to take orders and serve drinks, told it was not worth opening if he had to pay for staff On a public holiday.
But still chose to charge the 10% public holiday surcharge.

Went here for dinner tonight. Understand that it is a public holiday - happy to pay 10% surcharge given have to pay staff extra. Firstly it took 30 minutes to order, as there was only one old guy on the bar taking both food orders and serving drinks. Then waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for a meal (I complained and didn't get an apology, just a "Do you want your money back? "). The meal arrived shortly after, not fit to feed to my dog. Thanks for a bad meal, bad service and the surcharge for the privilege.

Obviously a lot of newbies being trained up which is probably not ideal coming into the festive season. Prices are exorbitant - we purchased two soda waters served in pots - filled to the brim with ice but not much water and was charged $22 for both - $11 for soda water when most venues charge $4 max? Ridiculous. Then when we asked for plain water to accompany our other beverages ($12 for a pot of Carlton), we were expecting to receive bottled water as the price for the plain water was $7 each but received just your run of the mill tap water. Entertainment was a DJ who defo thinks he's the Wimmera's answer to Fisher and absolutely not worth the $10 cover charge. What a complete dive of a pub. So disappointing to see the standard slip over the years. Two stars because your security crew were actually nice. Your bar staff should spend more time off their phones at the till and more time serving customers. Venue was dirty and poorly maintained. So sad, the Royal really was a great place to go on a Saturday night. Now it's a dirty, overpriced and poorly staffed place to listen to some guy play sounds off his laptop. RIP.

We have waited over an hr for our 2 meals and they werent that good. This is crazy! Will not be coming back here

Average greasy pub food at best. If we have to pay $8 for a glass of Soda water then the service needs to match the premium.it sure didn't

The most ripped off meal for $28 take away spaghetti bol and served Luke warm. Would not recommend

A very well presented old hotel built around 1870s and the outback Parma was the best meal I've had in a long
time, would highly recommend.

Bubbly personality isn’t acceptected at this venue. Very disappoitned that is occurred.

My belly is touching my back bone. I am starving ready to eat the plastic plant on the table and the person next to me who is looking worried. Have waited 2 hours everyone else has eaten and I am now dying of malnutrition. My best weight is 47 kilos and now I am at 43.2 kilos. Where the F is my PORK? Dessert has been served to my table and still no PORK. I could have stayed home and watched escape to the country.

Lovely fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked steak and very friendly staff. We will definitely eat here again.

Where do i start with this place? We have just moved to Horsham, & last night we thought we would go out for dinner and support one of the local hotels. WHAT A MISTAKE that was. We tried ordering @ the bar, the poor young guy serving had no idea of the menu, when we finally ordered, we sat down & waited for our meals. & waited, & waited, as we were waiting we noticed a lady from a different table send her meal back. So we waited more, after 1 hour & 20 min my wife got her meal. About 15 min later we got our meals. You would think coming straight from the kitchen they would be hot, nope! Warm. We were so disappointed we just ate it then left NEVER to return.

To the person reading this review right now. I strongly urge you to actually ignore the negative reviews about this business. I have been here and eaten here numerous times without an issue.

My husband & I called in for dinner. It was absolutely dreadful. I ordered a soft drink, that was flat, (YUCK) it was only syrup & water. I took it back to the bar and got a can of coke. The meal was nothing to write home about, warm at it's best. The wait time was over one hour. Next time, we 'll just go to our local pizza shop. We won't waist our hard earned money here.

Wouldn't even bother giving even half a star. One steak was still raw when asked to be cooked medium, returned to be cooked further. This meal was eaten and the 2 other meals had to be asked for twice!
When they did turn up (nearly an hour after being ordered), the parma meal was missing the salad, the fisherman's basket was over-cooked and the chips cold with the salad MIA. The fish meal was sent back only for it to come back oily with new chips and the missing salad.
This is the third bad experience at this hotel in 9 months.
Definitely won't be going back!

From the minute I walked in it was not a welcoming experience. Customer service was non existent, 15 dollars for a jug of softdrink to which the bartender poured two cans of solo in and half a jug of ice we weren't impressed. Very limited menu so we decided to walk out before ordering meals.probably best you shut the doors.

Rooms are terrible. Not even decent bedding, no heating, bed so small u hang off the edge, rude people playing music at 7am staying there, and people next door blaring music til 4am. Absoloute joke of a stay. Id rather stay in my caravan. Wish I could give a minus star review. Absolutely appauled

The place was very clean.
Took about 15 minutes and 3 circles to check in. We could not work out where to enter eventually asked at the front bar and was sent to the restaurant. He wrote on a piece of paper and sent us back to the front bar‍️
The room was inexplicably absolutely boiling hot. The hallway was cool, outside was cool‍️. A pedestal fan was provided however with only one PowerPoint hidden beside a cupboard we had little choice where to put the fan and the fan was damaged and unable to stand up on its own. We wedged it between a table, a cupboard and the wall.
There were no sensible PowerPoints in the common room either.
Double bed was very squishy and the single bed was very solid.
I understand it's a cheap place to stay, which is why we chose it. But simple things like furniture placement and a $20 fan would have made a big difference to our night.
