Good selection of beers, well presented and tasty food. Staff that seems to anticipate your every need. Good outdoor seating and a decent pool table. Toilets could be better. Prices are in the upper range for Fitzroy, although they do typically have some specials and happy hour.

Came here during Gran Prix weekend for a friend's b'day. He reserved 2 tables during the week after confirming they would show the F1 qualifying hour. On the day staff refused to change even 1 of their many TV's to the F1 for that hour. They were very rude about it too.
On the plus side, jugs of beer cost as much as you would expect at any suburban pub, and the outdoor area is alright too.

Is it just me all do all those reviews read like they are written by the same person? All a month ago too.doesn't surprise me as it's newly renovated, understandable to try and spread the word i guess (sorry). Looks like they did it up pretty nice inside thouugh, if a little flashy for my tastes.have been meaning to check it out but they often seemed to be blaring loud music through a PA which put me off.will give it a go properly when I get the chance, menu sounds nice

Pretty decent pub with a huge beer garden, friendly staff, nice beers on tap, and some great comfy chairs to watch the football.

Bar is nice, and upstairs, there are cheap rooms, but they are really really dirty. And if the shared showers are not as dirty, they don't feel super good.

Very good food. Plenty of sport on the TVs. Good specials on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Available for functions. They cover most major sporting events on the TV.

The bar and the lounge is good for meetings. The staff are quite friendly. There is pool at the bar too.

Spent 3 nights there in October 2015. Very handy on tram and surrounded by excellent restaurants etc though we did not have to leave the hotel as the food was excellent and the bar and beergarden were very good. Rooms were basic but satisfactory and noise was not a problem. Staff, very friendly and helpful and the room rate was excellent. Will certainly check in next time I am in town.

Great joint, big serving sizes of pretty decent food. Great range of beers, lots of tellies to watch almost anything. Highly recommend for any sporting occasion

Pretty alright garden bar and the food is not bad. I wasnt very impressed by the service but maybe it was because it was busy.

Meals were great, bar staff friendly! I had enquired about a room earlier in the evening (around 9pm) and Hayden (accommodation manager) kept a room for me even though I returned at 1am! Went above and beyond for me even though I was only going to stay in Melbourne for the afternoon and let him know last minute, top bloke. The whole team made my stay enjoyable. Much appreciated.

UberEats: Just got a delicious godfather parma from here delivered to northcote. It was really good and fresh. Chips were chrispy and parma was hot. Just what i wanted after a long day at work

Space could do with an update but really cool outdoor area. But the food is always so tasty, and Monday nights have a great special!

Visited here with the family for a birthday. With some classic pub food and some of the best staff service I've had here to date, dinner at the Royal Derby Hotel was a great night out for us! Would recommend to all.
