Roxburgh Park Hotel reviews
80Wow have not been hear for a while and I'm so happy that myself and my family came back the chef is amazing 20/ 10 and the place looked amazing for Halloween all staff really made is look good and I remember this chef from another place he is amazingggg
So i been coming to this place frequently for the last 3 years and it was always very good to be honest but tonight it was the worst food you can possible have, all their rices are uncooked basically crisp in your mouth, the roast beef thats usually very tender is very chewy, uncooked charcoal chicken literally pink. All the other beef dishes taste off. I really dont know what happened, change of chef or what but overall it was bad enough for me not to come again.
As a ex employee I haven't worked at a better place excellent peers and work mates if it wasn't for a tragic accident in 2019 I would be still working there.
Bear with me, this is a long story to explain what went wrong and why I am still giving 4 stars.
Tonight I invited 15 members of my family to my son's 11th birthday at Roxburgh Park Hotel for dinner.
I have an Entertainment Membership so of course I'm going to get one child free as a single mum with 2 kids when ever the option arises. That's why I pay membership?
Well. I could tell the child serving me was voucher shaming but what ever, she'll understand when she has kids I guess.but it got worse.
Two weeks ago I lost the love of my life so getting it together, dressing my kids and myself up and going out in public for the first time was very difficult.
But I already feel incredibly guilty my grief has cost my son his birthday party and school holidays where we didnt leave the house.
We had a great night in June for my daughters birthday so it was worth the 1 hour trip when my son chose go back.
Back to check out with my sister and her family ahead of me and my Mum and brother and his family behind me.
I told the girl I have a voucher, I dont know how it works but it's one free and I am 1 adult and 2 children. She told me it was $75 and surprised I asked if that was with one free.she said yes so I just paid it as she clearly had no patience (or manners).
When I got to the table my sister said it cost her 88 for 2 adults and one child no voucher. So clearly a mistake was made.
I went back I said to the girl there has been a misunderstanding. She was visibly annoyed. I told her I wasn't angry it's just there had been a mistake that needed ammending.
She sighed heavily at me and stamped her foot. I was so shocked!
I said, " are you for real right now? Why are you being rude? "
She started to yell at me and told me I had said 3 children and one adult.being a mum of two I've never mistaken how many kids I have but it was all my fault. She sighed again very obviously and basically told me I screwed up but she'd pay for it and threw the money at me. I asked her name she basically said it was none of my business? ! REally now? Of course it was on the receipt.
I don't know if I'd be so upset under normal circumstances but I retuned to my families table shaking and in tears.
I have never in my life experienced such hostile behaviour.
I have two jobs. One is serving hamburgers and know very well how rude customers can be and how upsetting it is so am concious not to be that person. The other is with children where I am spat at kicked and punched every day.
Never have I responded to anything like this.
I was ready to leave but asked to speak to the supervisor. The girl who hot him had witnessed what happened and sympathised. She was lovely as was everyone else. The supervisor was great and though i was very worked up kept calm. Defended his staff as he should but accepted something had gone wrong and looked after me. 5 stars to him.
But my night was ruined and I could barely eat anything at all let alone pay attention or hold a conversation, I didn't get any photos as I should have because I could not think clearly and the night was over. I just had to try not to cry.
I understand things happens.maybe Emily lost the love of her life too and took it out on me, but acted like a spoil brat the entire time we were there. You would expect a momentary lash out to result in an apology once settled.
I wasn't able to go to the bar to order a drink. Others in our party overheard her complaining about me.
There is no circumstance that it's OK to behave that way.
I'm giving 4 stars because it was one person while every single other person there gave exceptional and kind service
Update- the following day at work I was told a friend had trouble with the same person.
Great place to eat with a variety of different foods. Amazing staff, big thanks to the chef Damien! Very happy with the service
Haven't been for a while before today. Met a couple of good mate for lunch and it was great. Food is still great and so is the friendly service. Ample space for parking is always good to have too.
Nice clean venue & nice sweet staff
I gave 3 stars because most of the food wasn’t fresh, it looked & tasted like it been sitting there for awhile eg; pizza & stir fry’s
Seafood salad don’t go near it was gross I was told that they got a new company so I’m guessing I’m not the only compliant
Won’t be coming back again I left feel so sick
Good. Price is reasonable. Food quality is good too. However, check the plates and bowls before you use it. It may not be properly cleaned.
All you can eat, and very nice place, always a good time.
Update 2021, reduced from 5 to 3 stars. Price high and food a 6/10. Good range of food and nice setting still.
Worst most expensive food ever. The bar was the only thing open $23 for a burger that was sloppy and cold and when I complained to bar man she said oh ok. How rude not to say sorry never going back again and telling all my friends.
Pretty busy when attending meaning excessive wait times in line. However, the staff turned over food quickly, cleared tables efficiently, were friendly/polite and the Covid safety officials were on hand. Good food and decent facilities. Will return.
The place was over crowded. As soon as Victoria lifted their COVID restriction, people forgot about the harsh lockdown they went through over the months.
Every seat or group seating was too close to each other. There was no social distancing and checking in was optional.
Food wise, there was a lot of selection, but average in taste.
Food is great quality and plenty of food choices in this buffet plus free soft drink self serve if it still exists
Usually a very good variety of food and food is usually quite nicely cooked. Plates always cleared efficiently. Only down side is waiting in line to pay especially on busy days. They should let everyone in and get seated then open the food area because sometimes by the time you get in its already been 15 mins into your session time especially if large groups come in same time.
Visited friends from Sydney and we were taken here for lunch. Food was amazing, whilst selections was less than your standard Sydney buffet the quality outweighed the quantity and therefore the experience was well worth it. Will definitely visit next time we are in town.
Delicious food with great variety and meticulously clean display!
The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is the unfriendly arrogant behaviour of the in charge person named Ash. We had booked table for 15 people and they had reserved 2 tables apart from one another. When I asked him why I wasn't informed at the time of booking that we can't have 1 table he replied with such a rude unprofessionalism "this is how we do it here" even though right next to us were other joined tables to accommodate larger numbers of customers. The whole time I was trying to find a solution the guy was uninterested to help us, insisting arrogantly that they couldn't accommodate our booking because they had a fuction with larger number of customers than us, they book sits not tables and it is not their job to inform us. Eventually, we ended up joining the tables by ourselves as he didn't even bother to assist.
Definitely not a smart marketing to have such a rude person as in charge.
The rest of the staff were very friendly providing the best possible customer service.
Never fails to deliver. Went on a Saturday for dinner and I must say, the price I paid for it was well worth it given the fact that they had a wide range of foods to choose from as well as desserts. Will def go back.
Roxburgh hotel is fantastic for any occasion whether you are looking to take the family out for lunch or dinner the food here is super tasty and will leave your mouth salivating and wanting more set in the heart of Roxburgh Park the staff are friendly and will greet you with a warm smile and a friendly hello so come on down and enjoy the atmosphere and have a meal or a drink the sports bar is brilliant the gaming room is great plenty of gaming machines to choose from
Really enjoyed the dinner buffet there. All you can eat is veryyyyyyy surprisingly excellent with a large variety of food and desserts. Would definitely go there each time! The staffs are very friendly and chef makes really good food. Do visit this place, you won't regret it guys. ️
Busy during Saturday lunch but it got quieter around 2pm. Really nice house Moscato! Will definitely go back to try food.
