Rowena Corner Store

It's been a while since I had Greek breakfast, and after finding this hidden gem in the middle of Richmond, I was glad to find authentic options here.

We were greeted by a friendly staff. We ordered Kaski - Northern Greek dish of roast capsicum, feta, ricotta, chilli & tomato, served with a poached egg & warm pita bread.

It didn't take long to get the food, and it was served very hot, on an iron pan. It was so good! Just wished there were less capsicums with possibly more pita breads, as I couldn't finish the dish.

Coffee was good too, that my partner had a second serving.

The place is slightly packed, so it does help to book in advance, specially on weekends. They have a cute grocery corner as well.

I met a friend for coffee. Had not visited for a couple of years. Been remodelled and looks great while keeping the local vibe. Coffee and service were excellent.

I was a bit sad to see the new updated version had replaced some of the old charm however the new Fitout has its own charm and the food was just as marvellous
The staff were very friendly and accommodating
My husband order the Benedict and despite the fact they had run out, the chef made some specially
We loved both our meals and the service

The hidden gem of Richmond, with undoubtedly the best breakfast menu in the area! Love this place so much, everyone who works here is really nice too.

Absolutely love the new reno. Where’s the iconic picture of Rowena? Please put it back! Above the fridges would be a great spot.

Great to return to an old haunt to find its still serving amazing food coffee in its own original style

Very poor service from staff member's

I walked in during lunch break & was not told no cash nor was there a sign to be displayed (cash is a legal tender & should be available)
I was told the food would be $18.00 and hand over $ 20 dollar note to then be told no cash available
Staff member advised he has no money to give change all was needed was 2 dollar coin. VERY POOR

Nice meal. Didn't need to sign in or provide contact details in this time of Covid19. A bit on the delivery side.

Since the lockdown I’ve been going for my weekend exercise and deliberately plan my walk/ run to Rowena for a takeaway cup of coffee

Nice ambience and reputation but a tad disorderly. Sat down when cafe was only 1/3full. 22min wait for coffee.

Food didn't take too much longer and was tasty.

Delicious coffee and food set in a comfortable, homey room. This place has a real community feel, with all sorts of friends and neighbours dropping in. Great music selection and plenty of treats to stash in your bag for an afternoon snack later.

Great coffee. Place has a very unique feel to it.
Food options are quite limited for vegetarians.

Csme here for brunch had delicious light and Duffy scrambled eggs. Coffee good. It’s a quaint place that brings back memories of my childhood crossed with hipsters. Fun and funky at the same time. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes good. Dietaries catered for. Service was pretty good with lovely staff. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Prams and stroller accessible. Good parking.

Rowena Corner store is a really cute local gem. It's like a milk Bar that makes amazing brunch. Had the chilli scramble which was really nice. Perfect amazing chilli flavour without overpowering the spice. The prosciutto was a nice addition but don't think it worked with the dish.

Loved the decor. Service was a bit slow and took a while to get our two lattes even though it wasn't busy. They are recruiting another barista so perhaps this isn't a usual thing. Soy latte tasted like baked beans and the chai latte had hints of liquourish. Not to our tastes so maybe the sit down experience is a lot better.

I catch the train to Richmond station & walk to Epworth everyday. Every now & then I’ll stop in for a coffee but rarely get a warm reception. Today the girl served me and didn’t even look at me, she could barely mutter a word because she was too engrossed in her conversation with the male staff member.she handed me my coffee and I said ‘thank you, have a nice day’ and she just turned her head away and kept chatting. I don’t expect a huge chat but a hello would be nice. Anyway I’ll probably keep stopping in because the coffee is delish:)

Great store to get a quick coffee. A quirky place with friendly staff. Will make sure that i have more time to browse the menu next time. The back seating areas look inviting
