Rokk Ebony Mentone is a fabulous salon. I have tried other branches of RE and they are certainly not all the same, the stylists and colourist at the Mentone branch in my experience are both superior and better in terms of customer service, and I have better luck getting appointments. They do need to get a little better at checking their answering machine and getting back to people, and RE prices are pretty expensive but it's like most things, you get what you pay for.

My hairdresser of 3 years left me with choppy and uneven hair! I noticed that Ricky was wrapping up after drying my hair, so I asked if he was going to style it and said that he hadn’t had lunch and his next client was here. I kindly said that that was ok and that I’ll style it at home myself to see what it looks like. But I asked him if the haircut was finished as it did not look right. He said he was happy with it and *literally* stormed off to the back. I made my way to the registers and was completely shocked by the experience and expected him to come back and at least say bye, but he didn’t. The lovely lady at the desk could sense my confusion and said she’ll go and get Ricky, and I urged her not to. Then, another lady came and said, “sorry about that”. I have no idea what she said sorry for, and I paid full-price and walked out.

I am extremely disgusted and disappointed with this experience and did not expect to receive such poor service AND a terrible haircut which I now have to get corrected. I have been wearing my hair up in a bun since my appointment at Rokk Ebony!

This is the third time I had a choppy haircut experience here (the previous 2 times I was asked to come back in for it to be fixed), but the first time I received such appalling customer service, especially when I hadn’t made any issues out of respect to my hair dresser of 3 years… But apparently to him, a relationship with his clients is not a value he prefers to honour.

I also phoned Rokk Ebony today and left a message for a manager to contact me. No one has returned my call.

Completely butchered my hair.they told me i would have to train my hair to achieve the style i want, which is completely fine, however, they didn’t give me clear instructions or tips on how to do so.would not recommend.

I have loved coming here for the past decade. Unfortunately the manager I met for the first time today could do with a lesson in customer service. After not being notified my hairdresser was sick, the rescheduled time was then given away. When complaining no one even called the first time, she basically accused me of lying saying she had called everyone. I'm sad to end this relationship but I won't have my integrity questioned. Leanne is a great hairdresser, get a new manager.

Rokk Ebony Mentone fixed my fringe after my first cut (elsewhere) didn’t turn out well. It needs minimal styling so I’m very happy and will return!

They completely botched my hair colour and then proceeded to tell me it was what I asked for. Root glowing copper red under blonde? No thanks. Bad attitude and clearly cannot handle well deserved criticism. Very disappointing considering the class they claim

I took my curly haired 4yr old (2nd cut ever) for a cut today at Mentone. Nikki was absolutely amazing. Great with my child and did a fabulous job at cutting and styling curly hair.

I had my first visit myself about 9 my months ago I had my hair done by Bree at Mentone and she is amazing! Bree gave me a free consult, listened to what I wanted whilst also giving me advice. So happy I found a wonderful colourist. Extremely happy with the result. All the staff were lovely

It's been years since I visited, but I went from brunette to blonde at Rokk Ebony and it's still the best colour experience I've ever had! The staff were so friendly and I always left sessions with the most beautiful, creamy blonde hair.

Yesterday was my second visit to the salon and it surpassed my first amazing visit (I certainly did not think that was possible)! I was matched with the lovely Karen. I am so impressed with her quick understanding of my needs and how to manage my curly untamed hair. I walked out feeling a million bucks and was welcomed with a bucket load of compliments. Thank you so much Karen, you made my day!:)

First time I visited my color was fantastic. I also love the cuts I get there however my recent colour (almost a month ago now) was not great (different person). The colour is totally different on top at the front to the point where friends have noticed and commented. They were kind enough to offer to fix it however it still looks awful.bright orange at the roots. (I'm avoiding mirrors and its looking even worse as it starts to grow out). Will have to pay to get ot fixed elsewhere.will be going elsewhere from now on for colours and cuts

The most hideous haircut I ever had in the last 20 years. The hairdresser was clearly inexperienced. She failed to do what I requested but managed to do exactly what I asked her not to. The salon had the audacity to charge the service at the price range of a principal stylist. Dread to think what a normal stylist would do to your hair.

Look, before rokk ebony I hated getting my haircut. Then, I booked in my first appointment here 3 years ago and haven’t looked back. I now love getting my hair done! The staff are amazing and my hair has never looked better.

I’m always torn between wanting to tell people how brilliant this salon is and wanting to keep it a secret! There is such a positive atmosphere and I always feel welcome and pampered. I’ve loved every colour I have had here, and always leave happy! The service and experience at the salon is by far the best I have ever received. Highly recommended.:)

I honestly wouldn’t let anyone else colour my hair, I live near the city and travel 45minutes to come here, everyone is amazing and I’ve never had a bad experience. The ladies always know exactly what to do with my hair and I trust them explicitly. Amazing and beautiful salon, amazing and beautiful staff and I always end up with amazing and beautiful hair!

I love this salon. The staff really work with you to create the style you are after. I have been going here for 2 years now when i wanted to overhaul my hairstyle and no regrets. Thank you team. I love my hair.

I have followed my colourist Emily from south Melbourne Rokk Ebony to the Mentone salon. That’s how incredible she is! This salon is amazing! Cut and colour is the best in Melbourne. It’s an experience from the minute you walk in and the staff look after you the whole time. Can’t recommend it enough!

Always said I would never make a gmail account to write a review but I just had to. Had an apppintment today for half a head and cut. Was looked after by Sam and jordyn and they were both amazing. Very assistive and amazing girls! It was the exact look I was going for and I can't thank you girls enough!

This is an awesome place to get hair done. All the girls who work here are super friendly and do an amazing job with people's hair.
