Lovely ambient atmosphere, with plenty of space so you don't feel squished. Only sat in for a coffee but it was splendid and I'll be grabbing some grub next time. Stellar customer service from Niamh! I'll be back for sure!

Wow, wow, wow! The most amazing seafood linguini I've ever eaten. My 29 year old daughter and I went to Rocksalt on Wednesday night, sat inside but right next to the open air window (amazing spot perched above the footpath) and both ordered the seafood linguini which has tiger prawns, mussels, calamari & fresh fish tossed in lemon & extra virgin olive oil w/ fresh chilli, cherry tomatoes, garlic & parsley. It was simply out of this world - perfect balance of pasta and a really generous amount of seafood - and just delicious (we asked for some extra chilli on the side which came with chilli oil - yum). We loved it (and left with extremely full bellies and a massive smile on our faces after an amazing meal).

Service from Fernando and his team was warm, efficient and friendly. And an extra bonus is they are BYO.

Looking forward to heading back to Rocksalt again soon.

I go to Rocksalt ALL the time but today I brought a muffin at next door cafe as it closing they couldn't do coffee so went next door to Rocksalt got a takeaway coffee/tea with my 89 year old mom on leaving all except one of the outside tables were empty mom asked if we could sit a while (tired) so we sat (late afternoon) mom got her muffin out and started eating the manager came out and absolutely berated us he was so abrupt and rude (I know it's not the done thing to eat other food but we did buy a tea and a coffee.if we hadn't brought anything I would understand) We felt belittled and completely disrespected this is my first (and last) experience of rude customer service from anyone at Rocksalt (he was the duty manager) ALL the staff without exception over the years have been friendly welcoming and prompt shame I won't be back

Been for breakfast and a couple of times for lunch. Good food service and value. Went last Sunday for breakfast again - wasn't great.

Good for just a coffee or even a sit down family meal. Can't look past the parma. A real brighton institution

Food was good (small proportion) I ordered the prawn and scalp salad which was lovely but only 3 small prawns and 3 small scallops! The salad was Yum though.

The wait staff were friendly and lovely! Having said that the restaurant Manager who processed our bill as we were leaving, was very cold and unfriendly not just towards us but also towards other customers who were ahead of us too. His customer service and attitude ruined our experience, which is quite sad because the rest of the staff at the restaurant are friendly.

I would have rated the restaurant a sold 4, but the manager who was rostered that day (Saturday) his customer service was unkind towards us and other customers in the restaurant.

Usually not one to leave reviews, but it really did feel like most of the food was bought at a supermarket and reheated. Paying nearly 60 dollars for my partner and I's food, for it to be no better than cheaply bought pizza bases with very low quality toppings. Won't be going back any time soon.

They served a really burnt parma which I discovered under all that cheese and of course the sides which are noticeable. They should not have served it in the first place thinking they could cover it up! So I sent it back and in the mean time they offered a bowl of chips to munch on whilst waiting for another Parma to which I agreed to. When the 2nd parma arrived it was a little burnt on the sides but good enough to eat.
Giving 3 stars is reasonable since they offered complementary chips whilst waiting.

What a great find! Had breakfast here last week with our group of 4. Service was excellent - staff were attentive. Food was great and the coffee was superb. The restaurant has plenty of space so you didn’t feel squished and the ambience was terrific.

Attractive and open wide space. However, my salad came with a strand of long black hair. When I mentioned it when paying, received a very poor acknowledgment of problem. Dissapointing response. A reflection of disregard to paying customer.

I was greatly disappointed at the poor quality of food for such an overblown price. I ordered a pizza that was clearly a cheaply bought premade crust with cheap cheese that was nearly inedible. Meanwhile my partner’s chicken parma was again, cheaply bought and assembled on site.

Such lovely service and beautiful food. Kids ordered pizza and chips, I had salt and pepper calamari, which were perfectly cooked and my husband had the steak sandwich. He smashed that down! All up a pretty good pick on a warm afternoon. Also dog friendly, wait staff put out fresh water for our girl. We'll go back if we're in the area.

Terribly dissapointed with latest home delivery. Was told mixed salad came with fish n chips but alas it didnt.

A great local. Staff & service are delightful, food is varied fresh and kitchen open as long as they are.
