Riviera Hotel reviews
50The service is 10/10 lovely and friendly staff, the meat platter is a winner I so much enjoyed the dinner lucky to live locally
Absolutely brilliant eye fillet. 10/10. Chicken and prawns with creamy mustard sauce very good too. Definitely will return. Friendly and engaging staff too.
Used to work here, has changed a lot now. But still a great place to drop in for people I remember and have a beer. Surely great food, wine etc. Place is now a bit more modern, newer technology etc.
I give this place one star. My husband & I took 2 friends for lunch, (we have been a regular customer before new owners) we tried it with the new owners. Not great, but said we will give it another go, not good, so decided we would not go back. After lock downs during covid we rang to see when they were opening & decided to give it another go, was not bad, so we invited 2 friends to have lunch. We all perused the menu for sooo long, we looked at the menu for quite a long time. People think they are getting a huge snitzel or parmigiana, take off the crumbing & then look at what they are serving you for the price, most everything on main menu was crumbed. I ordered the chicken snitzel, wow how many times can you crumb a qt inch of meat, I think the Riviera takes line honours. I had a pile of crumbing on my plate & I think the breast snitzel was manufactured, how thin does chicken breast be. Salad was not good. Need to look at dressing. So overall NOT GOOD, friends had seafood platter. How much crumbing dies one need after chicken snitzel.
Food was nice but staff weren't over friendly. They were however, friendly staff to the locals, asking how their meals are and how are they but not too us
All good
Popped in here after the beach one day as it's opposite the foreshore but has free parking. Fantastic food, couldn't fault it. Went back 3 days later and again, great food, service is good, it's decently priced, there's an outdoor seating area to enjoy the sun. Highly recommended as a restaurant, no idea about the other aspects though.
Clean and tidy.
Slow to collect order, but, received quite quickly after order taken.
Lovely meals and good table manners when clearing dishes.
Would recommend the Riviera Hotel to anyone.
Phil the chef knows how to cook a Blu steak! His Indian curry was perfection. The ladies who serve you are charming and willing to help! Thanks for a lovely evening
I have been going here for 15 years and never had a bad meal. Great value and best of all the vegetables or salads are a delight too
Last night decided to catch up with friends there for dinner. Friendly n helpful wait staff.
As for the meal "Roast Pork", absolutely disgusting, no roast vegetables or CRACKLE, meat had been in bain marie, heap of slimy fat on pork n drowned in gravy.ned in gravy, as for the apple sauce, it was brown!
Bit disappointed
Love taking the kids here. Always wonerful service and enjoyable dinner. Looking forward to when things opening back up again.
Massive disappointment.partner ordered both our meals in the bistro one from the specials board (Tropical Barramundi with Asian slaw) to which she replied 'oh that's called something different on here'? Presuming she mean't on the register, paid and sat down. The meals arrived and I looked at mine and could clearly see it was not what I ordered, it was chicken tandoori in bao buns, brought it to the attention of a staff member who returned it, the original member came over and it was clear she entered the wrong meal into the register. So my partner was nearly through his meal and I'm still waiting and was offered some vegetables which I took. When my my meal eventually came she advised us there was difference of $4 in the price of my meal which was required we said 'seriously? ' 'this was your error and we don't think that due to your mistake that we should have to pay the $4.it's not the money by any means but the principal.but after her insistence we paid it, because they obviously need it more than us.to say the night left a bad taste in our mouth is an understatement.the food was nice but customer service needs a huge polish!
Usually great but latest visit was less than enjoyable.air con was off in bistro, steak tasted like it was seared then microwaved, partners roast same.
10/10 for the food, but 3/10 for the service of large bookings. Totally messed up the orders. Ordered first and got the meals last, not to mention forgetting a couple of meals and 1 dish was undercooked! Although they were very apologetic and gave a free entree and a free meal.
Staff very helpful.
No free soft drink or real coffee in gaming room.
Meals very good, no seniors menu.
Kids friendly. Not very friendly lady taking food orders. Staff at the bar seamed more interested taling to dudes in TAB rather working.
Meh. Parma was $26 and when it came out I thought they must have dropped half of it on they way over. Tiny tiny Parma, small bit of lettuce with 2 quarters of tomato in what I assume they call a salad and about 6-7 McCain frozen chips.
Good food good service but the dining room is very small and cramped in and Carpark is not called a Carpark it is called a dirt rode and to get to the restaurants it's is very difficult because of lack of signage and therefore it's is hart to get to and dose not present itself as a hotel that is why it is another reason why it is so hard to get to.
We had a really bad experience at Riviera hotel. So me and my missus went into the gaming room just after midnight on friday night. I asked for johnnie red from the old guy who was working behind the bar. He said “ oh we don't have johnnie red we have only got jameson or black douglas” very rudely and also he said something in his mouth which i didn't get. We wanted to complain to manager so we asked security (great bloke) and he told us manager is gone already we explained him everything, how the guy treated us so he told us to contact management if you have any issues. Also i had to ask security to serve us drinks cause bar guy was just way too rude and he made fun of having johnnie walker as my fav drink. I don't think someone who is not welcoming should serve the customers at all. We are not coming back to this place ever.
Thanks
Not sure if there is a new chef or not but the food is way too expensive for what it is. The last few weeks the meals have not been the same.
New registers are in your face, you have to rest your order 3 times cause the staff can’t hear you or see you.
Had to hunt down cutlery for 5 mins while our meals were getting cold.
