Riviera Hotel reviews
50We had a great night here with a couple of families and a bunch of kids. There is a play area with a TV quietly playing recent family films. The service was excellent and the menu boasts all of your pub favourites- including frequently updated specials. This is standard pub fair. Some may say the decor needs and update, but I think that's part of the charm. Pub chic (live Bingo gaming on screens in the eating area). Nacho Parma and chorizo gnocchi were the highlight. Lots of kids options + free kids drink and cheap ice-cream for a treat. Fabulous servers make this place feel like a place for locals. Everyone knows everyone. A lovely place for a quiet whole family meal.
25 in our group for lunch today, service was great and the food was delicious.
Well cooked and plenty on the plate.
Thanks to whole staff especially Mike the new manager.
Great service in both the bistro and bar- had the best lemon lime and sofa I’ve ever had before.
Don’t order off the specials board. Meal size was very small. $32 and got one lamb shank on a tiny scoop of mash. The service however was very good. Chef didn’t care when I mentioned the portion was very small.
Not anything like this place used to be, since it's been taken over by a consortium, every aspect has gone downhill, used to be the best place for dinner on the penninsula.
That good atmosphere in the bar has also disappeared.
Great location- we were welcomed by a lovely lady (Dawn) she had a cheeky sense of humour and she was very entertaining throughout the evening our meals were delicious too of course! A big thank you to Dawn for making our time enjoyable!
We will be back for sure keep smiling too
Compliments the Chefs.
A very quick reminder on Undercooking Cooking Vegies (Carrots). Chips would be more enjoyable if they were Cooked longer, No so pale in colour.
Fri staff not so friendly, lst question was have you made a booking instead of Hi or Welcome.
Otherwise Younger Staff extremely Friendly & Polite
Just Enjoying our Well presented Chic Maryland/roast veggies Senior meal. Compliments to both Chefs & very friendly Staff.
Our Meal was Perfect!
The Coleman’s
Stopped for lunch. Pokies pub with somewhat desperate atmosphere. Staff very helpful. Food at best average.
Was a small yet updated and cosy friendly atmosphere within the building.
Friendly staff welcoming to help you if needed.
Nice modern pokie venue with 90% New machines.
Convenient sports tab and outdoor smoking area.
Best kept secret don’t tell anyone how awesome the food and staff are. Best service we have experienced in a long time. Congratulations team thank you. 3 great meals under $70 great value.
Vegetables are not cooked properly, half raw. When mentioned the chef asked if we wanted them overcooked. No we just need them cooked.
DO NOT GET THE SEAFOOD BASKET. Total waste of money. The manager is rude and unhelpful. The staff over sell products that don't meet expectations. I wouldn't order anything but a simple main, when you have NO where else to go.
Very impressed with the updated decor. Ample parking and pleasant staff. New chef new menu. The lunch we had was delightful all freshly cooked and not microwaved. I couldn't find anything to winge about not even the prices.
Look forward to coming to The Riv almost each week. All the staff are lovely and Emma in the restaurant has been exceptional with our group. The young lady in the pokie area always has a bright inviting manner as well. Importantly, the food is good value and good quality. Thank you guys. Happy customer.
Everything about this place is amazing from the friendly staff to the beautiful food. Highly recommend stopping past for a beer and feed
Popped in here with a mate. It was fairly late, around 1am but the Pokies are open until about 4am. The entry was locked & it took a few minutes to be let in. I'm not sure what the Manager was doing when we arrived but he didn't seem pleased about us being there. He mumbled something & gestured towards a table that had a sign in book & qr code, then shoufled away without me knowing what he wanted me to do so I stood there. He came back & asked why I hadn't signed in & I said I thought we weren't doing that anymore. He replied "Well we're still doing it here".
We had a drink & left shortly after. To his benefit, the Manager was a lot more pleasant when as we were walking out. He smiled & wished us a good night. I guess he has to deal with some difficult patrons working after midnight but that's part of the job, as is greeting Customers as they arrive.
Was here last week and beautiful food, atmosphere. Staff lovely, Ryan was terrific.
Definately come back.
Good food good food, standard pub food, good people, for this area they need to lift up the standard.
I used to love eating at The Riv Hotel Since management has changed the place has taken a dive. When Costa was running the kitchen the food was amazing. We ate there last night and it was terrible. Roast pork was dry. The crackle wasn't crackle it was sloppy rind. The vegetables were so undercooked they were almost raw! The oyster Kirkpatrick were very average, overcooked and bacon was dry. The calamari was chewy. The chicken parma was fine, bit dry, but nothing special. I won't eat here again. Such a shame.
Recently moved to the area and visited The Riviera for the first time. Found that it was a really nice pub and had decent food and portion sizes. We had the kids with us and they enjoyed the play area too.
