Remy Bar de Tapas y Vino reviews
81Had such an amazing experience here! Special mention to Angela who gave us outstanding customer service, made us feel comfortable, and provided us with a wonderful evening. The atmosphere and food is delicious and of high quality. A beautiful and professional restaurant, highly recommend! We will be back for more.
Absolutely delicious food! Great cocktails and fantastic service, the garlic prawns are to die for, cannot wait to return!
Really great food, especially the calamari. Would be great to see more alcohol free options on the menu but overall food and service were wonderful, recommend the churros.
Jim is the best luthier that I know at the moment, he make a really good job on guitars and he is very friendly, I recommend to all musicians, OSTIAS JODER!
I had dinner and drinks at Remy 4-5 years ago, and left with a happy tummy and enjoyed the service and atmosphere. A nod to the Spanish and their food - a tapas and wine place - a popular restaurant/bar. They are still on Glenferrie Rd, just further down.
I love the new setup, great bar and interior decorations, with a mixture of small tables and a banquet like setup. The lack of airconditioning was an issue, especially on a hot night. We had to ask for the fans to be activated, but it took ages to happen. Outside are narrow tables along the footpath/street. We sat near the entrance, opposite the bar.
The staff wandered around chatting with each other - they took a while to take orders, and there were mistakes. The wait-team seem untrained. It was hard to get their attention when items were wrong or we wanted more drinks. They recommend ordering 3-4 dishes to share [because the servings are small] and have GF menu options. Prices are medium to high.
What we ordered:
Drinks - $17 Aperol Spritz filled to the brim and $5 lemon, lime and bitters.
Calamari F/F, lemon pepper served with Spanish mayonnaise $19 - light and tasty, and five pieces per person.
Char-grilled prawns and chorizo $18 - two skewers with two pieces of prawns and chorizo - a bit overcooked but tasted fine.
Scallop special - $24 three scallops = 1.5 per person with a delightful salsa on top - the best dish of the night, but not enough! Think about it $12 for 1.5 scallops.
Mini Pavlova - served with fresh berries, raspberry coulis, cream & garnish $13 - an enjoyable way to end the meal.
Crema Catalana (Creme Brûlée) topped with crispy caramelised brown sugar and served with orange segments & cream $11 - 'Ok, but I have had better' - was my friend's description.
Sadly, not what I expected/remembered. 3.5-4 stars
You can be the judge when you visit them next.
Food good. Very noisy with capacity crowd and guitarists vying for conversation. Once insulation installed it will be perfect.
Beautiful atmosphere (live gentle Spanish music), excellent tapas variety and good size paella (take away). ”real” pisco sour and market prices as expected. Recommendable!
Lovely resturant with live music, great food and atmosphere. It honestly felt like we were in Spain due to the amount of background noise but I guess that's what makes this place more authentic. It was a full house and very busy for a Friday night, but the waiters were very attentive and made us feel at home. We were a large group of 8 and had a great time. We will defnitely be back!
Absolutely amazing food, was our first time and we enjoyed the live music, the service was just as amazing as the food.
All together a wonderful experience and we shall be back again soon!
Food quality and options were great - wide range of tapas and all sound delicious. The specials are worth looking at. Extensive quality wine list. Very much a fabulous Spanish feel.
AMAZING! The food, the wine, the service, the atmosphere were all above my expectations. This is definitely a restaurant I would recommend to family and friends. I will be going back 100%.
What the wonderful experience, Food was amazing and Hospitality of staff was fantastic especially Ricardo, and Camilo, Diana
Great food but concerned by the lack of masks by all staff and that there was no attempt to note who was in the restaurant for any contact tracing.
Had a great time, the atmosphere is amazing, the quality of Spanish food was amazing and the service by Angela exceptional, well done, I'll be definitely back
We have been to this fantastic restaurant many times and love the food and exceptional customer service, especially from Paul.
Love this place. Walked in no booking, had to talk my way to a curb side table, had great food, enjoyed really friendly staff and paid a very fair price for a very lovely night out.we will Be back
Service was awful. We found ants at our table and asked to be seated somewhere else- the waitress had so much attitude she made us feel like it was our fault the ants were there! Drinks arrived 3/4 through our meal after we asked twice. At the end we were short-changed but honestly it was such a disappointing experience we just left.
Highly recommend Remy Bar as a great Spanish restaurant and also perfect for functions. I recently attended a function at Remy Bar- it was well run and organised, the food was fresh, delicious and plentiful and the attentive staff made sure we were looked after. I really enjoyed the soft crab sliders and the calamari was melt-in-the-mouth good! Will eat there again in future.
Given there are time limits, delay in receiving the food menu meant that we had about 5 minutes after eating before we we told here is the bill
Delicious food! Very attentive staff and personal service. Tried the paella, zucchini fritos and calamari.all was great!
