Red Rooster reviews
51Food was ok, nothing to complain about, the service was very lack luster, staff drinks on counters, cooks visibly eating out the back while preparing the meal, not a big deal just a bad look.
Firstly, let me start by saying that I like the Red Rooster Franchise. I have been a long time customer, but the last few meals I have had have been really disappointing. Now the only reason I gave two stars was because the food was tasty, as usual, but the last two times I have ordered the Hot Fried Honey Chicken the servings have been dismal. Tonight was the worst yet. In our six pack there were two tiny wings, two equally tiny drumsticks (seriously, I mean drumette small) and two slightly larger pieces that were mainly rib bones. Not even enough food for two people. I am a Chef so I know the value of food and at $3 a piece this represents absolutely no value for money. When I first ordered fried chicken from Red Rooster they were reasonably generous, almost like in the adverts. I am done with this now. Red Rooster you have lost a customer of over 30 years with your consitent downsizing which has now reached a ridiculous, unacceptable level of undersized boney offcuts. So disappointing.
I come here a lot cause it's one of the best Red Roosters I've been to. I usually get the Red Hots Satisfryer which is great value.
Hot honey chicken is really good! The girls on the counter are always nice, just have lengthy wait time.
Friendly staff, but there’s no way drive thru should take 20 minutes including parked for a tiny order.
Waited 5 minutes in the drive thru before I got served then waited another 5 minutes to get my order. UNACCEPTABLE!
Staff severely under-trained on online orders, especially fulfilling online promotions by partners eg UberEats or DoorDash. Any online promo orders put thru this branch results in long waits, missed orders and generally utter cluelessness by front of house staff. Otherwise drive-thru and counter order are fine.
Chicken was decent, the spicy chicken was not spicy. Other than that decent service and place. Nothing wow. -personal preference
Most underrated restaurant. We always get fried chicken here. They serve it hot and fresh. There could be a bit of a wait time especially if their chicken batches are sold out. Dinner sorted.
Left my new born baby in the dining area to go to the toilet and when i came back he was gone, when i asked the staff where he went an employee named akie said “ finders keepers” and i still haven’t gotten him back to this day
They are mainly chain stores. However, after a long stint away from this brand, we're starting to make a comeback as the other fast food chains are becoming boring and expensive.
Since Red Rooster upped their game on their fried chicken, I've visited quite a few times. I've stopped by this store in particular, the majority of the time as I find this store to be the most consistent. I even tried the roast chicken today and it was actually good. The Gravy tastes like Gravy rather than lard. Red Rooster is now the only fast food chain my partner will eat.
For the 2nd time in 2 weeks went and got a rooster roll combo only to discover that 1/3 to 1/2 the rooster roll was empty with no chicken. When I rang to complain Casey (fool) first tried to pass herself off as the manager then passed me onto the “real” manager who proceeded to be the rudest person I have ever had the distasteful experience of speaking with. Absolutely disgusting customer service (long theatrical sighs and made it quite clear she wanted no part in doing her job) and ripped me off twice in 2 weeks. You must have so many customers Red Rooster if you can discard them so easily. Will NEVER be Back. If these 2 people worked for my business they would be TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY. Disgusting behaviour.
Always friendly and pleasant quick service but most times chips sent salted so have to askfor a bit extra
Food is okay. It is standard Red Rooster. Chips with chicken salt is what I imagine cocaine would be like. Cost is also similar to cocaine in that it is quite expensive considering it's a "fast food" place. Sadly there's no charcoal chicken place in this strip of shops.
Ordered the 6 piece fried chicken, was more like 2 pieces and 4 half pieces. Not happy at all.
Some of best chicken we had better than nene chicken at Doncaster: Nene chicken taste 5 and size 3
Last time visiting this establishment. Service here has deteriorated with extremely rude staff.
Came here last night, and left due to rude service & went to KFC in Burwood for my family dinner order.
If i could give a ZERO star, I would.
Got a chicken roll had a huge bone in it. Emailed them and they didn't seem to think it was a big issue. My son could have choked. Not enough training at this store.
This Red Rooster is mostly quiet even during peak hours and staff have a good time of it as a result.
As a former Red Rooster employee myself I can understand their casualness. They mostly do take away and delivery here now. Rude customers, like some of these other reviewers, deserve bad service. Be nice and casual and they will be nice to you.
I ordered the Roast Dinner combo as I usually do. It was as I expected. Runny gravy and overcooked sweet potatoes. But as usual the Chicken itself was fine and the serving size is still good value for money.
