76 Beautiful food (vegan and otherwise)
lovely staff
Excellent Heaters outside on the street!
Cute garden
A comfortable cafe to sit in:)
A very popular little gem hidden in a back street.
It might have been a wait for a table but it was worth it, and even though it was a public holiday and it was an even longer wait than normal for the food to arrive from the kitchen that to was worth it.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Extremely accommodating with pets and menu variations.
What more could you ask for from a gem like this. Especially when they are run of their feet.
You would think that the tension would be a little tight be not in the least. The just happily buzz along, seamlessly doing what they do best
Totally awesome
Cozy neighbourhood cafe, away from the busyness of High street. Good coffee, tasty dishes and attentive staff. I like the layout and seating too with it's cozy corners and divided sections. Definitely one of my fav.
Amazing Coffee Shop with Made in Store Pastries, Cakes and Food! The service is amazing with Staff and friendly Chefs who work hard to ‘per-fect’ their food. Highly Highly recommend their new Pistachio Mini Cake on the top shelf. When you take the first bite, you’re hit with an incredible burst of flavour, and honestly it’s a sight to see. Every bite was memorable, especially when you get to the middle and the topping mixes with the cake. There’s so many cakes out there but this is by far the best Pistachio cake I have had in a long time. Kudos to the Chef.
It’s so good!
Also, the Vegan Cinnamon Doughnut. How many of you have had a Dry Vegan Doughnut? Or had a Cinnamon Doughnut which is drenched in Cinnamon. This beats all of them. It was absolutely scrumptious!
I also had the beautifully made Spinach, Chard, and Fetta. Same concept - moist, not dry. The Chard is not something I’m used to, but it added a whole new approach to a Ordinary Spinach and Fetta pastry roll. Definitely worth the price and so glad I bought an extra one for my brother. I was however tempted to EAT IT. Well done to the Chef.
The latte I had was with Oat Milk/No sugar. While it was a good coffee, I wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve had.
It is a really nice corner cafe, plenty of room inside, they also have a garden and the front. The food was INCREDIBLE! They have things that are a bit of the ordinary but really good!
I would definitely go back again to try more things on the menu!
On a short stay in Melbourne from Canberra we came here for brunch on a Sunday. There was a 20 minute wait for a four person table but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was delicious, filling and reasonably priced for a Melbourne cafe. Would come back here in a heartbeat.
Brunch for 2 people was $70 so the only downside is it’s expensive here but the breakfast roll was delicious and filling.
A spectacular fall from grace.
We visited over the weekend, greeted with a half hour wait – not a problem.
We then sat down, placed our order (2 of us) and waited 40 minutes for food.
When the food arrived, it was bland. So bland.
The burger I chose tasted of nothing other than pickles and sauce, and the sauce wasn’t that pleasant. The meat was tasteless, lacked anything resembling seasoning. Totally underwhelming and to be honest, it was only my near starvation that aided consumption.
The other dish, the shakshuka, hasn’t changed but I’m told was fairly bland.
And that’s probably a key takeaway here – bland, unchanged, dated. RD has not updated itself and when your product doesn’t develop, it goes backwards.
Having lived overseas for a few years we were so looking forward to this return, but we were left thoroughly disappointed.
Paying on my way out, required dodging a very disgruntled customer who had waited 35 minutes for a takeaway reuben. 35 minutes is insane.
Thanks for all the previous good times RD, it was nice knowing you.
Food is refined and delicious. Particularly like the ocean trout on crumpet.
Coffee is also exceptional, well creamed milk.
Great little place with decent food and drink options. Recommend trying the monk's chai.
Dog friendly, you'll see people out the front having a bite to eat, a coffee with their dog nearby.
Give the crumpets a go, the scrambled eggs and toast are good and the breakfast tart is tasty.
Inside it's a bit small with the tables and chairs, but if you can find a spot, worth a visit.
Lovely little neighbourhood Cafe with great food. Really popular so get there early on a weekend.
Firstly we had to wait for quite a while for our meals to be served.
I ordered an Ocean trout sandwich. As I was eating it I suddenly felt like something was stuck in my throat. At first I thought it could the sourdough toast as sometimes it can get quite scratchy if it’s too crunchy. But as I tried to swallow it got worse. I took myself to the bathroom and had to stick my finger into my throat to try and cough it out. Eventually I managed to get it out. It hurt a lot and I was so shocked as it was a huge bone. And sharp. I took it into the cafe in a tissues, called the waitress and showed her. She was so shocked, told me she will take it to show the cook but never came back. I think that is very bad as it is so dangerous. What if it happened to an elderly customer?
I am deeply disappointed for the way this matter was handled.
Great corner Cafe. My go to for a good coffee on the run on my way to work. Sat down and had lunch today, inside or outside seating. Friendly table service. My friend ordered us a salad. Outstanding! Fresh and delicious! Around $18 but meal size and definitely worth it.
Ordered a pie and a cold drink to takeaway. Waited 20 minutes and then had to ask where it was and told another 10 minutes and it should be ready. Heated up in the microwave and it was cold in the middle. It cost me $22.00 dollars. Overpriced and staff were blaze. Won't be going back. I'd rather go to the local petrol station.
Unfortunately we didn't have a very good experience when we went to this cafe. The burger was very undercooked (nearly raw), and I had to leave half of it on the plate. They acknowledged this, and agreed to make my cup of tea free, which was a nice gesture, but really the whole cost of the burger should have probably been refunded, particularly given the price of the meal. Also, while one of the wait staff was lovely, the other was not very present or attentive and also appeared judgemental of me and my friend. Would be unlikely to go back.
It's a take-away only time. Coffee was great. Service was efficient, although there was quite a crowd waiting outside. I had the Ocean Trout sandwich and was quite satisfied.
Very yummy coffee and cute physical cafe. The staff are lovely I have always had great service. Ihad a yummy brekky only thing I can criticise is that they good do with more vegan options:)
Friendly and lovely staff. Thoughtful and inspiring menu. Beautifully repurposed corner store building. I would recommend to everyone:)
Really nice coffee and lovely vibe inside. Great locally sourced and quality produce! Only let down is that we don't like sitting in the courtyard!
Dreadful customer service.waited 30mins infront of the cafe door where the sign said "wait here to be served". The waitress came out at least 4 times and never even acknowledged our presence as human beings. After having enough of waiting, I called out the waiter whose response was why didn't I just walk in and sit down. Completely clueless and lacking basic people skills. Shame as the food seems to be great.
