Rare Steakhouse Uptown

Good experience for large group and good ribs. Only fault from the dining experience was that there was huge variation in our groups steak. Some definitely overcooked and some way severely undercooked.

Staff were lovely and accommodating with allowing us an earlier service time (Theatre Seating). We ended up getting there late and they were great about it. Food came out in good time. Steak was cooked as requested and was a beautiful cut.
The mash was of good consistency and flavour, well done!

We had a lovely night at Rare Steakhouse Uptown. The service was attentive and friendly, our meals arrive promptly and everything was delicious. Lovely, comfortable surroundings, will definitely visit again.

Uptown is finally reopen! So glad to see this business back up and running after covid. As usual the steaks were just so tender, I never fail to have a bad experience here. Top notch staff, great wine options.

Tucked away in a side street this is a nicely layed out setting with a number of virtual rooms. The sheaks were superb, with good sides, my 300g. Portahouse was $39 so mid range pricing, great for a business lunch and we didn't have to wait too long. I will.be back

Our go to place for steak and a cocktail. Great decor, Awesome friendly service, steak, good wine list. Steak. And ribs are awesome. Steak.

I had the pleasure of dining at Rare Steakhouse Uptown last night with my parents and niece. I had booked it with both my fingers and toes crossed as my mother, whilst fabulous in all ways, is notoriously picky! The restaurant fitout and atmosphere is beautifully done. The staff were AMAZING! Thanks James & team! The food - was fabulous. Oysters, pan seared scallops, soup, chicken, salad - we had it all.

Wanted to find a steakhouse close to where we stayed. This was within walking distance. We got there at 2: 45pm after checking into our hotel. We found out that most restaurants here close between 3 and 5. We were able to order and enjoyed a delicious steak "dinner", If you want to go, they suggest evening reservations.

If i could give 4.5 out of 5 stars i would. 9 out of 10. The food all tasted really good and the $150 deal for 2 was decent value relative to the rest of the menu but all in all i think the restaurant is a bit over priced for what it is. The steak itself did not dissapoint and the entrees and sides were delicious.

Myself and girlfriend came here a few weeks ago and the food was amazing! We were waited by a girl called Nev, she was so nice, really made us have a good experience and very attentive. Will definitely be back!

Really great spot for steak. The workers were really nice and the food was good. Meat was cooked just the way we asked and waiters were quick and efficient with their service. Would recommend the place for sure if you're looking for a good steak!

Upmarket service and quality of food and alcohol. Price matches the quality of the meal. Note that it is a steakhouse, so the serving is literally the protein and the exact side you ordered, nothing else, no additional veggies, etc.

Pros - good eye fillet and mushroom was tasty, and quick service.

Cons - steak was slightly overcooked than medium. Sticky date pudding was good for a massive sugar hit but pretty mediocre in terms of the actual quality (they said it’s just purchased and not actually made in their kitchen). Also tried ordering oysters as a starter but they said they won’t have it for another 2 weeks.

Outstanding food and cocktails! Fantastic staff and atmosphere, highly recommend the beef ribs! With the peas & pancetta, fried onions and sweet potato fries as sides.

Amazing steak. I was at a fancy steakhouse in New York city 6 months ago. But the steak I had at Rare Steakhouse Uptown was so much better. It was steak of the highest quality and truly world class. Will be back again.
