Rare Steakhouse Uptown

Fantastic atmosphere and food. The waitstaff were perfectly pleasant and had a flair for being available at the right time. Good recommendations were made-I would encourage you to try the specialty baste with mash. The porterhouse was so good it didn't require sauce, but the baste paired perfectly with the eye fillet.
Recommended mousse was a delicious finish.

This has to be my favourite restaurant in Melbourne. It never disappoints and the food is always delicious.

Price range was up there, but you get what you pay for no doubt.great service, quality tasting food!

The steaks were beautiful, atmosphere perfect for a party. It is cosy and not noisy like the other restaurants. One thing though, the mash potatoes were very salty. We did not like them and we told the waitress - the feedback from the chef is: "this is how we make our mash" ok, we just left it as that, none of us ate the mash.: (

Worth every dollar here. Amazing food and the service. Staffs were kind and nice as well. Portion was decent. Would definitely be back.

Medium-Rare steak served as well-done. Egregious considering the price they command for a steak.

Our waitress was an absolute cracker. Great service. Her mission was to make sure we were happy, and I'm glad to say she successfully succeeded. Our every need and culinary quirk was well and truly looked after. Give her a pay rise. Easy going, and made us feel welcome and cared for. The food was great as well.

By far the best Steak I’ve had in Melbourne so far! Have made it a monthly tradition for myself and partner to enjoy a steak feast and a few glasses of red!

Got a craving for steak and was fortunate enough to mange to try one at Rare Steakhouse in between lockdown 5.0 & 6.0.

I felt a bit guilty taking my non red meat eating wife here but needn’t have as there was plenty of options for her. We started with calamari which we had with a couple of wines by the glass whole our mains were prepared. My medium rare steak was thick and juicy and it came with a buttery mash and I chose the mushroom sauce. Really satisfying sauce too and I’d say the meat needed it as it one only basically seasoned.

Kellies grilled chicken was as tender as and actually well flavoured and not at all dry like breasts can go (wondering if it was brined?)

The venue itself was tasteful and relaxed, possibly more relaxed due to occupancy restrictions… but I liked it that way.

A few weeks ago I attended this gorgeous steakhouse in the heart of the CBD. We dined on the incredible Tomahawk steak served with a garlic sauce, red wine jus and black peppercorn sauce. No words can explain how amazing this steak was- wow! It was cooked to perfection- medium rare which is exactly how I like it! It was charred beautifully on the outside and was so incredibly tender on the inside. We also had a range of entrees my faves being roasted field mushrooms and the side of garlic bread. Service was impeccable and an incredible wine list to offer to for all you wine connoisseurs. If wine isn’t your thing, make sure you check out their amazing cocktail list! This place has such a luxurious feel and I’ll definitely be coming back for a date night

Took my work team out for dinner and we had a great meal at Rare Steakhouse Uptown! Friendly staff, meals were delicious, sticky date pudding is amazing and huge!
Service was excellent. Great atmosphere.
One out of seven steaks was slightly over cooked so they took it back and cooked a fresh one, received complimentary steak and side as a result. Will definitely go back.

Delicious meal, perfectly cooked steak with creamy mash and crispy greens and the best crispy sweet potato chips… yummo!

The service is impeccable, food brought out nice and hot and at the same time as others at the table. The steak was cooked to perfection and the espresso martini left you wanting more.
Will be back again without a doubt.

One of the best meals we have eaten in Melbourne! And one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten! It was a little noisy and it would of been nice with some sort of background music. Overall a great experience!

I really can't recommend Rare Steakhouse Uptown highly enough. From the decor and atmosphere, through to the friendly and attentive service and, of course, the excellent quality of the food - you really couldn't find a better place to get a steak in the CBD.
