RACV Torquay Resort reviews
65 I want to start with something nice so there is a waitress Melody who was absolutely lovely and competent. As was one of the bar tenders.
That’s about it. I don’t even know where to begin on the areas to improve.
- several staff are new and haven’t been trained or taken for a tour it seems as unable to provide simple directions.
- processes are entirely inconsistent, you check in to each area you attend at the resort with a different process. One min a QR code, next additionally a phone number. The most amusing when they wanted all 3 of us (a family with a young toddler) to check in with QR code separately.
- no one seemed to know the go green process through its advertised in the room.
We choose to go green and they still serviced the room.
- walked into the lounge asking the server first if they served ice cream to which he said yes. 15 mins later when he came to take our order he was like it’s only what’s on menu (no ice cream) checks with the kitchen, no ice cream. Well that was a wasted 30 mins.
I could go on.but the summary. Lack of consistent processes, services and quality. Someone experienced needs to come in and do a thorough review and make changes ASAP
Enjoyed a Sunday light lunch. Staff were super cool and even provided a small birthday treat. Great location and facilities priced accordingly.
Everything is ruined when you can’t get a good night sleep. Woke up for the 10th time with a sore neck and back from the hard beds, thought at least I’ll be able to get a massage tomorrow. Seems like they spent a lot of money on design but forgot to check if anything is actually comfortable. If you want to use the spa be sure to book a year in advance or at least 6 months before you think about sleeping at the hotel (you will need it). They said sorry everything is very busy but I only noticed 3 people at breakfast. So I’m guessing very busy means terribly understaffed. It’s a regular Tuesday this place is definitely not busy. But good job keep lying to customers I’m sure you’ll be in business for a very long time.
Had a pleasant 3 days stay. Great service and facilities. Breakfast was fair for the price and was included in the package with 25$ dining credit. Well located, near town center, beaches and restaurants.
Ample car parking available with electric charging stations.
Wonderful resort for a break in Torquay with excellent facilities such as a golf course, pool, gym with classes and a hearty breakfast.
A great stopover if you are visiting the great Ocean road or are looking for a city break from Melbourne.
Currently staying here paying over $400 per night and the bed is as hard as a rock would’ve had a more comfortable sleep outside on the golf course nice facilities but no treatments available for the entire stay. It’s a resort but they’ve missed the point of what makes a resort enjoyable. If you like golf come play here it’s a beautiful course just don’t stay at the “resort”
My husband and I Filmed a wedding on Friday. (Angry Chicken Media Weddings) The Venue manager Symone was just brilliant to deal with and the couple adored the wedding and experience.
Incredible views, stunning venue and accommodation. You won't be disappointed with your choice to book RACV for your holiday visits or events.
Impressive building and should have been great. But.amazing how bad the service was. Rude staff, dirty toilets, dirty glass, dirty floor. 5 star, no way. Heard others complaining in the lobby too. Obviously the management are out of touch. Or blamining the customers. Cannot comment on the rooms but at the 400+ per night range i would think there are many better options in the area.
RACV Torquay has a luxury feel without the luxury price tag. It's situated in a beautiful location, overlooking the golf course and only a short stroll to the beach. It's a really lovely place to stay, with great facilities, a first class restaurant and friendly, well trained staff. We really enjoyed our stay and will most definately be back.
Shame the golf course is members (not RACV, course members) when people have the time off to enjoy it. Otherwise it's an over priced hotel.got some decent views thou.
Its a pitty covid 19 shut down happened while we were their no breaky just a doggie bag on way out the resort itself was great
Beautiful resort in Torquay located on view of the beach. Husband booked a room for my birthday. We were upgraded to ocean view room upon check in and welcomed with a bottle of champagne in our room. A cot was placed nicely next to our bed for our toddler. The room was in good condition and spacious. The resort has activities for everyone, including a lane pool, spa, golf course, gaming room, playground etc. Loved our stay but breakfast was a disappointment. Due to covid the buffet was not available hence had to choose from a limited range of ala cart meals. The baked beans did not taste good at all, I would have preferred tin baked bean to what was instead served. Nevertheless, a lovely resort where we had a above satisfactory stay.
I just spent a week at the Torquay resort and you can’t beat the view! The building has been designed to make the most of the location and I love the lounge and restaurant view. The rooms are quite large, the gym spacious and well appointed with separate yoga, spin and other facilities. The pool is large and you can lap swim or just relax in the spa. The sauna was closed due to COVID. The service was solid and the staff always make an effort especially Maddy. I would like the coffee to be a bit stronger and the menu was strange. A lack of room service options for the kids meant we had to go out most nights. Why have a kids menu but you can’t have it in your room? Plus with the casual restaurant closed having some lighter and less expensive options on the menu would be appreciated, one pasta please! One final issue that might be beyond their control is the lack of phone reception. I have a brand new iPhone on Telstra and can’t make calls from my room? Overall, a great holiday spot and will come back hopefully when everything is open.
Over priced, Breakfast was bland and tasteless. Bed cover was stained and yellow not 5 star standed. Great view from balcony.
Sensational location and definitely a place we love. Only draw back is the $’s but that could be more a me vs market thing
The experience and interaction with all staff members was
warm, professional and informative. The room was comfortable and clean and enhanced by the stunning view of the Golf course and ocean vista. The Health Spa, Tennis courts, gym and pool facilities were first class. The only perplexing and disappointing aspect involved the quality of the Breakfast and Evening dining meals. It is my considered opinion that the Resort Management need to urgently focus and address the standard of mediocre food that is presently being served by their Kitchen staff as it is tarnishing the Resort Brand. In summary I would not hesitate to personally recommend staying at this wonderful unique Resort. Tony Bakalich
Food is lovely, beautiful view of the beach and large rooms/bathrooms for a private and spacious family stay. Do your self a favour and stay here. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The place and facilities are amazing, but the service there was terrible. Only one lift was working those 3 days that we stayed, with the safety restrictions, only 4 people allowed each time, always wait 10-15 minutes for going up or down.
The staff wasn't friendly and helpful.
The worst is the restaurant there, the steak need to be sent back 2 times before they get it right. Both morning breakfast the food didn't come as what we ordered, but the worst part is the staff there didn't care. Would never choose this place again
Claudia took amazing care of us this evening. Attentive (but not overly so), friendly, funny, charming. Food was excellent and so was the wine. A very good night all round. Thanks, Claudia!
Delightful views - friendly staff - lovely place to catch up with Torquay friends not visited for years - especially warm & cosy in your Winter.
