RAAF Museum reviews
33No other military base museum do you need Id, such as Singleton infantry museum or Newcastle RAAF Williamstown fight world. Rude private security at the gate. Willamstown fighter world is better collection.
Such a cool place. Free entry and lots of planes to see. The museum is well laid out and lots of information, planes, guns and missiles. The main building is great, you can get up close and there are other hangers that you can enter and see different aircraft from a distance behind fence or glass. Make sure to bring photo id, as it is on the RAAF base and you need to go through security at the gate.
Great free museum with plenty of well thought out exhibits showing the RAAF and their history over the years. Shame the restoration hanger was closed when we went. Also some exhibits are cordoned off and you can only see them from a distance behind a barrier? Not seen this before but didn't detract from my enjoyment. Café on site also.
A must visit place.
Better on Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays with planes actual fly.
Excellent exhibits. A lot of information about aircraft's and Air Force.
Kids and elders would love the display.
This is an active military area
Please carry photo identification.
No where on their website it says that u must have a photo id with you to enter the museum, we went their with kids all charged up, mrs didnt have her wallet with her and the very rude guy at the enterance didnt let her in, so we saw the museum in a hurry as she was waiting outside in the coastal park. The museum itself was ookk. The aviation museum in SA is far better and more interactive than this. So overall a disappointing day
Fantastic, very informative and the planes and information are excellent. One of the best museums I've been to. You can spend a whole day there.
Great museum, you have to take a look there. Very friendly volunteers. And a amazing aerobatic airshow but that's only a few days a week.
Staff was rude and arrogant. There need to be a polite tone specially infront of the kids. There attitude don't make us feel welcoming and kids didn't enjoy the rest of the tour.
Surprisingly interesting place, the museum presents an historical overview of Australia's military aviation history through a combination of itemised and photographic exhibits and full sized original and restored aircraft. Fairly extensive exhibition space spread over a number of building, great for kids to explore, a gift shop and friendly staff. Not a lot of people seem to visit so it's a quiet environment to explore; you will need to sign in at the front gate via security.
I think there's an opportunity to have more aircraft on display and allow visitors to get up close which unfortunately at this point is not allowed otherwise a great little place to visit if your passing through Point Cook.
Was amazing especially seeing the F-111, however you need to be careful during entry it's on the base
Was great visiting here for the first time! Excellent staff and great place for the family also has a cafe to
Good and well maintained collection of old and new aircrafts. A good place especially for kids to dive into some history.
Absolutely magic museum, great historical displays needs 2-3 hours for the aircraft enthusiast to get around all the buildings including main museum additional hangers (2) and workshop, ask about photography as this is a restricted RAAF airbase.
