RAAF Museum reviews
33It’s so ridiculous indoor bars and cafes are already open but outdoor museums are still closed. Is this Australia value?
Lovely museum in very good maintenance. Staff were lovely and were handing out free balloons (before covid)
Visited in 2019.
Fantastic place to visit.
Plenty of exhibits to view and history to read up on.
If you're ever in Melbourne, take the time to come visit because it's worth it.
Note it is located in an active RAAF Base so you will have to go through the appropriate security measures but this is a non issue and the guards are polite, accommodating and good for a laugh.
Brought the family here for the weekend, adult and kids enjoyed the visit very much. Hidden gem in the west.
Really good for kids. Make sure to check out flying squadron. You don't have to be an Aviation buff. If your kid is sensitive to loud noise then please take ear protection muffs with you as you get to see flying display up close.
Just impressive.
I can't believe it is free.
Very good aircraft show and installations, also amazing volunteers.
10 out of 10.
Very nice collection of aircraft's.not huge but still got 20 odd aircrafts.fighter jets helicopters biplanes.our 5 yr old had heaps of fun. And on top if all these its a free entry.
Really interesting museum if you're an aviation enthusiast, free entry & lots of historical information!
If you have already seen an airforce museum you know what you expect. If you have not than at least visit one.
An excellent display of RAAF Aircraft and history. Be sure to check out the flying displays each week. Free entry and the kids young and old will love it
A hidden treasure, a credit to all involved.
Free admission but please donate generously to keep this museum operating.
An incredible range of aircraft, plus displays of most things associated with the 1st & 2nd world wars. We will return.
RAAF Museum is located on Point Cook Air Force Base. Maybe it is a little bit not easy to reach, but once you come in you'll be amazed by numbers of aircraft that ever made history in the RAAF service. From the world ward II aircraft to the famous F-18 Hornet. The staffs are more than keen to guide you and explain the history of the aircrafts.
This is a great place to go and see some really interesting things done with different Airplanes and lean a lot about them too. You can get a drink and a small snack there from a tiny window cafe. But there’s no sit down place to eat in or have a meal before seeing the Airplane show. Must have Photo ID too. Very interesting place though.
A must for RAAF fans. Great exhibits and lots of planes. Have your photo ID ready as it is a real air force base.
Historic nostalgia and a really lovely place to go to even if you have no interest in history or air force.
Spent 3 hrs here, after having a tiger moth flight. Great museum spread over 5 hangers. Small care for cold drinks, tea or coffee, toasted sandwhiches, muffins or pie/sausage roll.
With a gold coin donation, this museum is jam packed with Australian Air Force planes spread over various hangers. It's genuinely amazing. Beautifully looked after and clean throughout, it's a great way to spend a couple of hours. Young kids will love it too!
Very interesting lot's of History and the air show was fantastic, A must see experience in ones lifetime
Great displays of historic aircraft and equipment. Very well set up and displayed.
I kind of liked the old museum, where everything was scattered around randomly in a few nissan huts, you had to forage a bit to find everything. This one is set out logically and the exhibits are well organised and documented. Probably better for non enthusiasts and kids to follow.
The flying display is fun and the comentary team add to the enjoyment and crowd participation.
There is also a restoration hanger, where you can see the aircraft that are being prepared to either be a static display or a fully licensed flying example of on old model.
Worth taking a few hours to visit.
Try checking their website to make sure you catch the flying display when you visit.
