Psychology Melbourne reviews
41 Had such a poor first session with Aisha Seedat-Timol on the weekend. I won’t be coming back.
There was absolutely no attempt made by Aisha to get to know me or my issues.
Instead, Aisha constantly interrupted me during our session, and offered up such infuriatingly general advice to my problems that left me feeling she was not interested in any of the details I wanted to provide. Zero empathy, zero care.
She was blunt, condescending and rude throughout our session - the complete opposite of the demeanour of any kind of creditable psychologist.
It is embarrassing how much I was charged ($250) for such an impersonal and unprofessional service.
Do not waste your time with this clinic, find somewhere else.
Had a great experience so far! I took my very first assessment test that I purchased from their website and the entire process went very well. I’ve been looking to get a formal mental health diagnosis for a really long time so I was really happy to have come across the CMH test! I was assigned to a psychologist named Paul for 2 sessions to go over the results that I got from that test (especially for the second session), he is very patient and listens to my concerns very well. The receptionists are such lovely ladies too! Overall, I’m really satisfied with this service.:)
Had an excellent experience with Canan, discussing a stressful personal-life event. Spirited, queer-friendly, and very supportive.
Pam made me feel comfortable right away. Sometimes, I thought we were just chatting, and it wasn't an assessment at all. Which really helped me not be so nervous. Even the lady's that answer the phone are so lovely and helpful.
I felt understood, supported and accepted here. Went in for an assessment, with or without a diagnosis, I felt the clinician was professional and considerate. Thanks Pam.
I have had an adult assessment with Felicity Allen for both ASD and ADHD. It has been an incredible process that has helped me learn a lot about myself and how I interact with the world. I can't recommend Psychology Melbourne highly enough.
I work with Psychology Melbourne as a contractor and would recommend it highly to anyone looking to get into private practice.
The team is very experienced and there is excellent admin support with lot of training opportunities for clinicians. I have felt supported and found communicating with Jill (director) really comfortable.
Psychology Melbourne care more about money than mental health. I don’t have the option to even pay on the day, they will just cancel my appointment if not fully payed well in advance (which obviously not all of us can do)
AVOID THIS PLACE.
Had an ADHD assessment sold to me under the wrong pretense. I have been told that if I will get an ADHD diagnosis confirmed, all I will have to do is to take the report back to the GP to start the treatment. WRONG. The GP didn't accept this report as it has to come from a psychiatrist which will cost an additional $900. The report has no use to me or to my GP and I was charged over $1100 for it. Don't waste your time, energy and money just go see a psychiatrist and avoid this place.
I’m pretty shocked at how they run their processes.
I made an appt yesterday afternoon and received confirmation at 5.30pm that it would be today at 5pm. I received several emails and text messages confirming and a prepayment link. I had a question about the payment in terms of Medicare so planned to email in the morning when it wasn’t out of hours before I made payment.
I received another prepayment reminder yesterday at 7.40pm and today at 9am I received a message saying my appt might be cancelled because I hadn’t paid yet (was waiting to have my question answered). I then received 7 missed calls from them.
I then received a reply from my email saying because I didn’t make payment that my appt was cancelled. My appt was meant to be at 5pm, so still around 7-8 hours until my appt…
Perhaps this is a problem with their automated service, but I’m pretty shocked at how unwelcoming it has been and can only empathise with other people who may be really struggling right now and receive these kinds of threatening communication when they are seeking help.
I understand that all services have processes in place to protect their workers etc, but this process has shown me that there is no care or real consideration for their patients and the challenge and first step in seeking support.
Absolutely would not recommend them and wish I had the read the reviews first.
I have worked for Psychology Melbourne as an independent contractor for nearly 2 years and I can honestly say that my experience with this business has been nothing but POSITIVE! The admin are great, so supportive and those in charge are always mindful of the clinicians well being. They also provide great supervision & opportunities for professional development. I feel supported & listened to, and I would definitely recommend working here.
I am very happy for great clinical services. Gramme is a polite, humble and guidance through out the assessment
A lot of childhood trauma left me deeply distrustful of others and profoundly depressed. When I saw a psychologist at last, she did a screening test and said I might have autism and should get it fully checked out. That's why I went to PsychologyMelbourne. The testing process brought up a lot of issues for me, but the tester was very professional and I think she was really concerned about me. It turns out I don't have autism so that I can get better focussed treatment on my problems. Thank you!
Had Adult ADHD testing and feel like i set fire to $1100.
Firstly I would NEVER discourage anyone seeking metal health help. But I went into testing with a good idea of what i wanted and strong feeling it applied and desired outcomes (which I explained at the first session) at the end was given a report of what I already knew and ask why I didn’t seem surprised.
To add insult to injury after having my self diagnosis confirmed I asked for the next step to medication and counseling and they could refer me (nor suggest) either psychiatrist nor specialist psychologist to assist and was just told to see my GP for a referral.
My gp said I could have just seen them and gotten a referral and saved A LOT!
If you think you have adhd read (or listen to) “driven to distraction” if that backs you up see you GP and then a psychiatrist TOTAL COST (including book) $680 and a better understanding of yourself plus access to meds
Absolutely amazing service. Very friendly staff and always prompt to respond to any queries I have
When school got demanding it got really hard for me, although I did finish. Now at uni, I dropped out of three courses and a friend said I might have ADHD. The testing team at Psychology Melbourne were really helpful talking to me about my symptoms - no judgement! - and went through the treatments that I can try. I can see a way out of my troubles now. Really glad I stopped saying 'that's just me' and reached out for help.
Shocking. Very disappointed. A colleague reached out for some assistance and was met with attendant telling them that they were not experienced in dealing with their situation and was referred onto another attendant which was also not able to assist at this time.my colleague approached the company CEO and was told to pursue this as this was the professional line of assistance and they did. 2 months have passed and today my colleague received a stock standard phone message response back stating that there was a technical issues and thanked them for their patience. UNACCEPTABLE. This is mental health. Please get your act together and follow up and for goodness sakes call people back.
This is a direct reflection on the suicide rates in this country.
Get trained people to answer the phones and I can assure you there are many looking for jobs waiting hoping they can work in a capacity to assist people. This is not good enough.
Had an issue with my first season there was a glitch and unfortunately where unable to do our call. Was rescheduled for another meeting offerd $25 off any other courses and a free appointment with a psych very much appreciate their hospitality.
The ADHD testing is a scam - you don't get a diagnosis, script, or even referral to someone who can give you either. For the time they make you wait, just go to an actual psychiatrist specializing in ADHD.
What can go wrong, will go wrong. In a space that's supposed to look after people and support healthy mental health, they have done nothing but cause extreme stress and anxiety.
DO NOT RECOMMEND!
You are just stuck in an automated process that will create a long and strenuous experience with no help at the end of it, oh and it'll cost you!
